I have owned the car for almost two years. It has been really good car. I have not had to do any major repairs - just the regular meintenance.

After market headlights - I bought them last year. I still have the original headlights.The hood is wrapped in Carbon Fiber vinyl.

The car has power mirrors, windows, door locks, stock sub in the trunk, cruise control, CD player, ipod jack. Heated Seats and panoramic (sliding) roof.

There are a few things that could be fixed but do not affect the car - the airbag light came on when I had the heated seats installed. There is a small tear in driver seat that has a patch on top now. I am sure both of those are an easy fix but I have lowered the price because of these issues.

I did scrape the front bumper in a curb during the last storm we had here in KC - now the left corner is not flash with the fender and there is a scratch.

If you check the KBB you will find that my price is way below KBB (value is over $10,500). This is due to the few imperfections and minor issues listed above.

Evo pits Toyota GT86 vs. Mazda MX-5 Miata

The latest Deadly Rivals episode from Evo gets the Mazda MX-5 Miata and Toyota GT86 (our Scion FR-S) on track for a shakedown and a whole lot of drifting with Dan Prosser behind the wheel. The UK-spec coupes have slightly different power ratings than ours, but it's all close enough to be comparable. Their Miata has 158 horsepower (ours has 155), 148 pound-feet of torque, takes 7.3 seconds to run from naught to 60 62, and costs 22,695 pounds. The GT86, on the other hand, lists a 7.6-second dash to 60 62, and a base price of 25,000 pounds. The GT86 also weighs 400 pounds more than the Mazda. That's true in the States, too – curb weight for our MX-5 is 2,332 pounds, whereas the Scion FR-S comes in at 2,758 pounds. Both cars lauded for excellent shifting, but one of them has a better front end, a sweeter engine note, more controllable cornering behavior, and is faster by a tenth of a second around the test track. And Prosser doesn't mention it, but one has a lot more body roll. But it takes more than all that to make a winner, so check out the video above to see which is which. Toyota GT86 engineer Tada recounts how sports car came to be

Because the Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ coupes are now a reality, it's almost hard to imagine the struggle that had to happen within the large, conservative corporate structures at both automakers for the joint project to even get off of the ground.
Speaking to those struggles on Toyota UK's Toyota Blog, GT86 Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada enlightens us with a recap of the sports car's earliest origins. For Tada, the first stages of the project must have seemed almost as dreamlike as the final product is to drive.
Said the Chief, "I had been working in the minivan department engineering new product, but a month after the meeting I was summoned. 'Forget about minivans,' they said, 'you are now working on the sports-car project.'"
