Very easy fix, includes all parts.
CLEAN TITLE!!!

I bought this car a few years ago with the hopes of fixing it to drive myself but I don't have time to work on it and I don't have room for it so someone is going to get a great deal here.

This car was NOT TOTALED. It was at a body shop getting some light front end damage repaired when someone vandalized it. I guess at that point the owner decided not to have it repaired. Evidently the shop insurance covered the cost of the car and it was never considered a total loss. I have a CLEAN Indiana title in hand, free and clear, no brands whatsoever. I checked the carfax on the car and for some reason it shows that the car had some rear end damage at some point but I have been in the body shop business for a long time and I can assure you that it has never had any rear damage whatsoever. The only collision damage on the car was to the front end. The fenders, hood, headlamps, front bumper, and radiator support were replaced. The frame horn on the right side was smashed up a little but it has been straightened out and the bracket assembly on the front was replaced. There is NO other frame damage. The air bags did NOT deploy. There is no wiring harness damage and no other hidden damage to worry about on this car. It runs, drives, shifts, and stops just fine. However you can't drive it very long because the cooling assembly is out of it at the moment. The service engine light is on because the cooling assembly is out of it and the ABS light is on but I'm not sure why yet.

Besides the sheet metal damage, the vandals threw bricks at the car which resulted in a broken windshield, broken back glass, broken quarter glass, and one piece of the panoramic roof broken. There is also a dent in the left door and the left quarter from bricks. They also stole the radiator, a/c condenser, and catalytic converter.

The interior of this car is absolutely immaculate. No damage whatsoever. It has all power options, blue interior lighting, nine air bags, and factory Pioneer stereo. This isn't the base model car so it has the better looking tail lights, factory spoiler, 17" wheels, and glass panoramic roof. The factory alloy wheels have a few curb marks. The tires are like new.

I have gathered basically everything to put this car back together. I've tried to find all used OEM parts to repair the car because I don't like the fit or quality of aftermarket parts. Any used parts came from cars that had 40,000 miles or less. The parts included are:
Front fenders (used OEM)
Hood (used OEM)
Hood hinges (used OEM)
Both headlamps (used OEM)
Front bumper cover, rebar, and impact absorber (used OEM)
Radiator, a/c condenser, and fan assy. (used OEM)
Catalytic converter (used OEM) (already installed)
Left quarter glass (used OEM)
Panoramic roof assy. (used OEM)
Right bumper bracket (new OEM)
I'm sure theres more that I'm forgetting.

The only parts that I don't have yet are:
Windshield (I had one and someone cracked it)
Back glass
Grille inserts
Front fender liners (lost them at some point)

This will make a very nice low mileage car for someone. And It will be a very easy fix. Just repair two light dents, paint, and assemble. The book value of this car is still around $12,000.00 so you should be able to buy it and repair it for around half of what it's worth. If you have any questions, feel free to call me anytime at 812-457-2668. I will be more than happy to arrange any type of shipping at the buyer's expense. This car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. If you have feedback less than 10, please contact me before bidding or I will have to cancel your bid. Please DO NOT bid unless you intend to pay for the car.

Thanks and good luck!

Scion was slain by Toyota, not the Great Recession

Wed, Feb 3 2016

Scion didn't have to go down like this. Through the magic of hindsight and hubris, it's easier to see what went wrong. And what might have been. What the industry should understand is this: Scion wasn't a losing proposition from the get-go. Its death is due to negligence and apathy. This is more than just the failure of a sub-brand. It's the failure of a company to deliver new and compelling products over an extended period of time. Toyota will point to the Great Recession as the reason it hedged its bets and withdrew funding for new vehicles, instead of using that as an opportunity to redouble efforts. This was as good as a death warrant, although myopically no one realized it at the time. Sadly, GM's Saturn experiment was a road map for this exact form of failure. No one at Toyota seemed to think the Saturn experience was worth protecting their experimental brand from. Or they weren't heard. Brands live and die on product. Somehow, Scion convinced itself that its real success metric was a youthful demographic of buyers. It seems like this was used to gauge the overall health of the brand. Look at the aging and uncompetitive tC, which Scion proudly noted had a 29-year-old average buyer. That fails to take into account its lack of curb appeal and flagging sales. Who cares if the declining number of people buying your cars are younger? Toyota is going to kill the tC thirteen years [And two indifferent generations ... - Ed.] after it was introduced. In that time, Honda has come out with three entirely new generations of the Civic. Scion wasn't a losing proposition from the get-go. Its death is due to negligence and apathy. At launch, the brand could have gone a few different ways. The xB was plucky, interesting, and useful – a tough mix of ephemeral characteristics – but the xA didn't offer much except a thin veneer of self-consciously applied attitude. That's ok; it was cute. Enter the tC, which managed to combine sporty pretensions with decent cost. It took on the Civic Coupe in the contest for coolness, and usually managed to win. More importantly, an explicit brand value early on was a desire to avoid second generations of any of its models, promising a continually evolving and fresh lineup. At this point, the road splits. Down one lane lies the Scion that could have been. After a short but reasonable product lifecycle, it would have renewed the entire lineup.

Scion previews new iA sedan, iM hatch ahead of New York debut

Wed, Mar 18 2015

Scion is preparing to revitalize its lineup with the debut of not one, but two new models at the upcoming New York Auto Show next month. That much we already knew, but now Toyota's more youthful counterpart has revealed teaser images of both. In one corner will be the Scion iM, a hatchback previewed in concept form at the 2014 LA Auto Show and based closely on the European-market Toyota Auris. In the other will be the Scion iA, which will be the brand's first proper sedan with an actual trunk instead of a liftgate. Though we'd generally call hatchbacks more practical than trunked sedans, Scion says the four-door iA will be more practical than the iM hatchback, and will be more aggressively styled as well. We'll have to wait a little longer to find out additional details, but Scion promises to reveal both at the end of this month before they make their live debuts in Manhattan. It will take two looks (or more) to see the World Debuts from Scion. Both the Scion iM and the newly named Scion iA will be revealed on the eve of the show, March 31, 2015. The Scion iM is a 5-door hatchback that combines maximum versatility with a sporty design and a fun-to-drive experience. Meanwhile the Scion iA sedan is designed to appeal to young people who need a little more practicality, but still want engaging styling and outstanding driving dynamics. The "i" in the models' names can stand for intriguing, individual, and easy on customers' income. The "M" reflects the hatchback's modern style and multi-faceted uses. Meanwhile the "A" for the sedan denotes the accommodating trunk and the aggressive styling. "We've been eagerly waiting for this moment and are excited to introduce our new Scions in New York," said Scion Group Vice President Doug Murtha. "Both the iM and the iA are tremendous additions to our line-up and will appeal to young people with different perspectives and needs. These cars represent the evolution of Scion and are kicking off a new wave of momentum for the brand." About Scion Scion continues to be the test laboratory division for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. From its start in 2003, Scion's goal was to offer products and processes that stand apart from the crowd.

These are the cars most likely to be damaged in an accident

Tue, Nov 30 2021

Data from Insurify shows which models have the most accident-prone drivers behind the wheel. It also shows the proportion of the drivers of said vehicles with an at-fault accident on record in the past seven years, based on Insurify’s analysis of over 4 million car insurance applications. For reference, the national average is 10.78%, and each of these vehiclesÂ’ drivers represent a statistically significant increase over that. Now, it would be easy to infer that these cars are dangerous, but such is not necessarily the case. Remember, drivers cause accidents, not cars. These just happen to be the cars that accident-prone drivers drive. YouÂ’ll notice that many are mainstream, affordable cars, often with decent crash ratings. Also keep in mind that vehicle accidents are up since the beginning of the pandemic, so no matter what you drive, please drive safely. 10. Hyundai Ioniq This affordable, electrified vehicle platform sneaks into this list with 14.45% of drivers with a recent at-fault accident on record. 9. Lexus CT Another hybrid, this Prius-powered Lexus beats the national average at 14.57%. 8. Toyota Prius V Yet another hybrid, the larger but discontinued member of the Prius family sees 14.72% of its drivers with recent accidents. 7. Mazda CX-3 The Mazda CX-3, which is discontinued for the 2022 model year, sees the accident-prone making up 14.9% of its drivers. 6. Infiniti Q60 The second and final luxury car on this list has more accident-prone drivers than average, at 14.93%. 5. Subaru Impreza The first of two Subarus on this list has 15.1% of drivers with recent accidents on record. 4. Hyundai Genesis Coupe The Genesis Coupe was only on the market for a brief span before it was discontinued and Genesis spun off into its own luxury brand. That said, it too beats the national average for accidents, at 15.29%. 3. Subaru WRX Despite its standard all-wheel drive, the boy-racer WRX has 15.44% of drivers with a prior accident in the last seven years. 2. Kia Stinger We love the Kia Stinger, and had great luck with our long-termer that graced the Autoblog garage for a year. That said, 15.75% of its drivers represent have a recent accident on record. 1. Scion FR-S This fun two-seater attracts the most accident prone drivers, with 15.87% with recent at-fault crashes.
