2009 Saturn Sky Redline! 2.0 turbo with manual 5-speed transmission. This car is loaded and cost $34,105 new, not counting the dealer applied stripes/lettering and paint protection. Senior owned by me and the previous owner. Been in Florida since new. Never abused, raced, or driven harshly. Always garaged and only driven for a short drive now and then. Only 21,178 pampered miles. Mobil Synthetic oil of course. We get thumbs up every time we take the car out, and numerous people want to look at it. Beautiful triple black with black convertible top, black leather, and black body. Top is like new with no rips or tears. Body is as close to a 10 as you can get. The front bottom spoiler has a few scratches on it due to how low the car is. They cant be seen unless you lie on the ground. Interior a solid 10! Mechanical is a solid 10! No issues with anything. All power options work as they should. This car looks and drives like new. Even has the original tires with plenty of tread left. If you are looking at this car, you know that 2009 had options added to it that the other years did not. Things such as bluetooth, aux. pump for brakes, pressure transmitters on all tires, etc. Yes, they only made 839 manual Redlines for 2009. Figures show a total of 34,415 Skys built from 2007. In 2009, they only built a total of 2,346 Redlines out of 4,178 Skys built. That is why you dont see too many 2009 models. Most people looking at these already know the figures. Engine performs flawlessly with the turbo. 260 horse and 260 torque. Get the GM factory authorized tune at your local GM dealer if you want more power for about $700 total. That takes the horse to 290 and 340 torque in the manual!!! This one is stock and has plenty of power. Driving the 5-speed manual makes this a very fun car to drive. Put the top down or leave it up. Options on this pampered beauty include black leather seats, 6 disc CD, rear spoiler, and the Monsoon Premium Amplified 7 speaker system. This includes the 2.6 door speakers, 2.1A pillar tweeters, and the 2 3.5 rear speakers and 1 subwoofer (all stock). Sounds beautiful. These Skys are already at collector status, and are continuing to rise as they get harder to find. Way too many standard features to list. I can send you a copy of window sticker if you wish, or you can look it up. The 2009 also has the driver 2 way power height adjuster. All power options work. No lights and no issues whatsoever. It is ready to drive anywhere. Freshly waxed and top conditioned. Buyer must pay a $500 deposit through Paypal if you utilize the Buy it Now Option. The car will continue to be advertised until you make that deposit. If you get here and dont believe the car is exactly as I said it is, I will refund your deposit!! No issues and it is ready to drive anywhere you want to take it. If you are out of Florida, fly in and take a nice drive back in a stunning convertible!! Balance of car must be paid in cash before you take it home. I have the clear title in my name in hand. No checks! I will go with your to your bank if you dont want to carry that much cash. But before I release the car and title, I must have the full amount of cash in my hand. Look at my feedback. i have bought and sold several expensive items with excellent feedback. Sorry, no buyers remorse. Once you buy it, it is yours. Please double check with the bank, your wife, your girlfriend, or whomever you need to get permission from. Take a chance on bidding and maybe save a few dollars, or hit the buy it now and own this beauty. Rare and hard to find, especially in this condition....and a 2009. Figures I have found show 16,567 2007s made, 13,662 2008s made, and only 4,178 total Skys made in 2009!! That is why the 2009 is getting harder and harder to find.

GM's got 107 problems and NHTSA's No. 1
Thu, Mar 6 2014General Motors' problems with its recall of roughly 1.6-million vehicles continue to mount. Now that it has emerged that GM knew about the problem since at least 2004 but waited to recall vehicles until February 2014, regulators at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have begun a much deeper investigation. NHTSA has sent a 27-page survey to GM that includes 107 questions about the timeline of what led up to the recall, and it has until April 3 to reply. This isn't a simple, multiple-choice test. Automotive News believes that hundreds of pages could be required to answer some of the queries. NHTSA says that it is still investigating GM's response to the recall. "We are a data-driven organization, and we will take whatever action is appropriate based on where our findings lead us," said NHTSA in a statement on its website. If found liable, the automaker could face a fine as high as $35 million and even possible criminal charges, according to Bloomberg. NHTSA's questions include a detailed explanation of GM's examination process; how it will improve the process; why a planned redesign of the cars' key in 2005 wasn't implemented; and specific data on each complaint it received. According to Bloomberg, NHTSA also has records that show the company had a meeting with regulators to discuss the airbag failure in a Chevrolet Cobalt in 2007. New GM CEO Mary Barra has also hired an outside law firm to conduct an independent investigation about what happened. It will include questioning company employees who were involved with the process from the start. The recall stems from faulty ignition switches that shut off the car while driving, and if it occurs the airbags deactivate. Thirteen deaths and 23 crashes have been caused by the problem, according to Bloomberg. If you would like to peruse NHTSA's entire questionnaire for GM, it can be viewed here. Saturn Ion steering probe closed by NHTSA
Tue, 22 Apr 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has closed its investigation into faulty electric power steering motors affecting 334,728 Saturn Ions from 2004-2007, because General Motors has issued a recall for them. The group's research found that the part failed at a high rate in the vehicles.
GM recalled over 1.3 million vehicles a few weeks ago, including the Ion, because the power steering could suddenly fail. If broken, the cars could still turn, but it took greater effort. The automaker is also covering 96,324 2003 Ions with a lifetime warranty for their motors, but it's not immediately replacing them.
NHTSA opened its investigation into the motors in September 2011, and it found 4,787 complaints and 30,560 warranty claims that showed failure for the Ion alone. It estimated a complaint rate of 14.3 incidents per 1,000 vehicles and warranty claim rate of 9.1 percent. The investigation also found evidence of 12 crashes caused by loss of steering, two of which resulted in injuries.
Car thief lands Saturn on Fresno roof
Fri, 06 Jan 2012Residents of a Fresno, California apartment building recently awoke to debris falling from their ceiling after a car thief managed to execute a perfect parking job on the structure's roof. Police say 26-year-old Benjamin Tucker stole the Saturn sedan from a nearby house before striking either a curb or some rocks, vaulting the vehicle into the air and onto the roof. After seeing his predicament, Tucker leapt from the roof and fled the scene. Or at least he tried to. Tucker broke his leg in the fall and only made it around a quarter of a mile from the crash when police picked him up.
No one else was harmed in the stunt.
Tucker had two outstanding warrants for his arrest at the time for a hit-and-run and evading police. A special crane had to be called in to remove the Saturn from the apartment roof and the structure will indeed require repairs. Hit the jump for a news report on the incident.
