I purchased this car from the original owners (small family, countryside miles) in 2009.  I replaced the original engine (at 144k miles) with an identical Saturn SW2 engine (with 77k miles) about two years ago. I also had a brand-new clutch put in. The car has manual windows, an FM/AM radio with a cassette player, near-new tires, near-new brakes. The interiors are a tan cloth in very good condition--no smoking, no bugs, no pets--and two small ash-burns. The car has a Thule sports utility/bike rack on the roof that can easily car oversize objects and also locks-in up to two bikes (value $150). I also have a pair of Saturn 2000 S-Series snow tires ($150 value) in great condition that were used lightly for two winters. These two additional items are included in the sale. The car has no rust and has never been in any accidents. The battery needs to be replaced. There are no dings or dents, all though there are a few light scratches here and there.

Please feel free to contact me with any other questions about the car and its history.

To set-up a viewing and test-drive of the car at its location in Wantage, New Jersey, please contact me.  Upon sale, I will accept a full payment of agreed amount via PayPal and within 24 hours I will transfer the Title to the buyer and send the document to the buyer's address.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

When the deal to sell Saturn to Penske Automotive fell through, there were likely a lot of surprised people at General Motors' Detroit, MI headquarters. Penske released a statement saying that the reason the deal fell through after months of good faith negotiations was that a suitable post-GM supply of vehicles could not be found. However, after reacquainting ourselves with over eight minutes of outtakes from Jim Gaffigan's old Saturn commercial, we're thinking the comedic pitchman is to blame.
