Up for NO RESERVE is a very clean 1 OWNER, 1995 Saturn SW2 wagon. This vehicle was lightly used and shows it. Why sacrifice cargo room for passengers when you can have both? On top of all you can get great fuel economy!  Don’t worry, the previous owner was passionate about this vehicle.

The INTERIOR: While entering the vehicle was rather easy instead of climbing in and out, I noticed this vehicle cleaned up very nice. Everything was all intact and in still working order. The A/C blows cold and the heat works almost instantly. This was engineered for convenience and comfort, both in mind. There are some small imperfections on the driver side door. There are not any major or flaws that I have noticed, the pictures will show you.

The EXTERIOR: Just like you would expect the body was in great shape. No major dents or dings, no repairs needed honestly. There was a small ding on the hood. I believe the exterior panels are a fiberglass material; this makes it easy to avoid permanent dents. The tires appear to be new, and they look great. This vehicle shows that it was well maintained and cared for through its years.

The MOTOR/HANDLING: Not a surprise, the whole 25 minutes was really nice. I have NO complaints on the way it accelerates or brakes from any speed. This automatic transmission has a normal or sport button that will compensate the shift time for whatever desire. The suspension was very quiet absorbing any imperfection in the road. The powered steering was responsive and sensitive as it should be. The car grips the road nice!

With no repairs needed in most opinions, this car is and will be ready to go. You don’t have to spend more money on gas to compensate the cargo room you can have with this Saturn. This owner really was passionate and responsible for this vehicle. The only thing this car needs is YOU!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY): IF this is a NO RESERVE auction, the vehicle being sold will sell to the highest bidder.  IF you are really interested in this vehicle, enter your max bid. Junkyard Gem: 2004 Saturn Vue with manual transmission

Sun, Mar 27 2022

GM's Saturn Division has been gone since the final 2010 Auras, Outlooks, Skies, and Vues slunk apologetically out of the showrooms, and I'm doing my best to document the more interesting models from The General's once-revolutionary brand. Some of the later Saturns began life as Opel designs, but the Vue actually was the first vehicle to go on the all-new GM Theta platform; the Opel Antara was thus a Saturn copy, a fact that Saturn fans no doubt trot out when they get shamed by Opel zealots over the Astra. Today's Junkyard Gem is a most unusual Vue, in the sense that its original purchaser was fine with both the base manual transmission and the leather-upholstery upgrade. Sure, the cheapest way to buy a new Vue— which was sold here for the 2002-2007 model years— was to get it with the base transmission: a five-speed manual. You can still buy a new car with a five-on-the-floor manual right now, but only in a handful of cheapmobiles; by the middle 2000s, a tiny-and-ever-shrinking subset of American car shoppers would even consider a three-pedal commuter vehicle. Really, there were only two reasons an American new-car buyer would have considered a non-enthusiast vehicle with a manual transmission in 2004: either an eccentric preference for the good ol' stickshift or just plain penny-pinching. The cheapest possible '04 Vue was the version with four-cylinder 2.2-liter engine, front-wheel-drive, and five-speed manual transmission, and it started at $17,025 (about $26,080 in 2022 dollars). That's what we're looking at here. The optional CVT automatic transmission cost an additional $2,095 ($3,210 today), so it made sense to get the manual if you wanted to save serious money on your Vue. However, this car is loaded to the gunwales with nice equipment upgrades, to the tune of at least the Leather Appointments Package ($755) and the Sports Plus II Package ($1,300) and probably a lot more.  So, a buyer who didn't care about power (so no V6 engine), didn't want all-wheel-drive, liked driving a manual transmission Â… but insisted on power everything and a full-zoot comfy leather interior Â… in a cheap small SUV sold by a fast-fading brand. The conversations with the Saturn salesmen about this thing must have been interesting. Built in Tennessee, sold new in Denver, will be crushed near Pikes Peak.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

GM ignition switch trial cleared to begin on January 11

Sat, Jan 2 2016

US District Judge Jesse Furman didn't accept General Motor's attempt to dismiss a civil trial over the automaker's faulty ignition switches, and set a January 11 start date for the case to begin, according to Reuters. The judge found that plaintiff Robert Scheuer had the evidence to proceed with the case. Scheuer was injured in an accident in his 2003 Saturn Ion in 2014 when another vehicle forced him off the road, and he crashed into some trees. The airbag didn't deploy, and Scheuer alleged this was the result of the faulty ignition switch. According to Reuters, Scheuer's trial is one of six bellwether cases over GM's ignition switch problem in the coming year. Juries' decisions in these lawsuits should provide an example of how similar trials could end, and these results would help The General decide whether to settle other pending cases or to keep fighting them. The ignition switch fiasco has already cost GM billions. For example, the company's compensation program offered $594.5 million in 399 cases of people killed or injured by the defective parts. Anyone that accepted this money agreed not to sue GM for the problem later. The company also came to a $900 million criminal settlement with the US government and paid $575 million in civil resolutions in September.
