2009 Saturn Sky Redline Only 17k Miles!! on 2040-cars
Milton, Florida, United States
Up for sale is my 2009 Saturn Sky Redline
This is the factory turbo model and is completely stock. One of the rarest colors on this very limited production car: Merlot Mica Paint is in excellent condition and has been protected with a layer of Opticoat 2.0. (Opticoat is a secondary clearcoat that can be applied that is harder and more durable than factory clearcoat, making the paint more scratch and weather resistant) Currently it has 16,500 miles, but it is my daily driver, so it can/will go up. Car stays garage kept and is driven very conservatively. All functions of the car work perfectly, absolutely no mechanical issues. Interior has a wood-trim layover (adhesive laminate with a gel-coat over it) that accents the color and features of the car beautifully. Tires are still like new. Currently there are PlastiDipped Eyelids on both the headlights and tail lights that can be removed simply by peeling them off. Automatic transmission, has Monsoon sound system, Bluetooth, cruise, power windows, power locks, freezing cold AC, etc. All options that were available for this model. Asking $25,000 or best reasonable offer. Open up to offers of cash and trade. Title is currently held by the bank, current pay off is ~$15,000, so if doing cash and trade, a minimum of $15,000 would be needed. Open to all reasonable offers. E-mail or text only: 516-499-5799 More pictures available upon request. Buyer responsible for shipping and/or pickup. |

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
