What a time of the year to purchase a convertible. For sale is this beautiful 2008 Saturn Sky Redline Convertible, Automatic Transmission. This is our 3rd car, and therefore it has been babied. It just passed NY State Inspection last week with flying colors. It has 43,740 miles, is a bright yellow with black leather, black convertible top, shiny polished rims, power locks, power doors, and cold as ice a/c. It turns heads whenever and wherever it is driven, partly due to the rarity of the car itself, and partly due to the color. What makes this particular Saturn Sky extra special, is the fact that this owner took the vehicle some 6 short months ago to Otto Cadillac/Saturn in Albany NY and had them install the optional LNF Turbo Upgrade Kit. Approximately one thousand dollars later, the results are simply sensational. What the turbo upgrade kit does, is raise the horsepower of the vehicle from 260 to 290. It also raises the torque from 260 to a whopping 325 lbs-ft. Simply put, what you have now is the fastest, GM Certified, GM Warranteed Saturn Sky that you can find. All of the work is done with GM parts and by a GM technician. Since the work was done only 6 months ago, there is still 6 months or 6 thousand miles left on the warranty. Our miles per gallon has not changed one bit either. Additionally, although I am not a dealer, please feel free to check my feedback. I have successfully sold 3 cars on ebay to happy bidders: a Saab, a Mustang, and a Pontiac Solstice. Feel free to bid on a car that you are guaranteed to love once you see it and drive it. If you need to have the car shipped, I can't recommend a shipper, but I will say, that I've personally used Jayhawk, and their prices and service are difficult to beat. Happy bidding, and for whatever this car ultimately goes for, it will be well worth it to the bidder and our loss, as we need to downsize at this time.

Guess when this car will plunge through the ice, win $1,500
Mon, Feb 18 2019In Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a sad-sack Saturn raises money for charity while awaiting an icy fate. The 1998 Saturn is a bright orange beacon inviting folks to make a bet on the coming of spring. When the weather warms up enough and this Saturn sinks, someone is going to take home $1,500. It's the Iron Mountain–Kingsford Rotary Club's annual car-plunge contest, a fundraiser that takes bets on when this car will fall through the ice. The contest had been run in years past and was resurrected in 2015. In the old days, the hapless cars sank to the bottom of the lake, which is actually a flooded old iron mine. In today's more enlightened environmental era, this Saturn is attached to a cable affixed to an anchor on shore, allowing it to be yanked out of the water. It also has been drained of all fluids, degreased, and had its powertrain, battery, and radiator removed (which means it weighs about 1,800 pounds). The lake sits alongside a main highway, assuring maximum visibility for the car and the contest. But it's not only locals who are invited to take a chance; anyone 18 and over can bet via this online link. Ten dollars buys three chances. Whoever most closely guesses the date and time that the Saturn slips under the waves takes home $1,500. Betting closes March 15. The past four years have seen the car fall through on March 17, April 2, April 4, and April 26 — although, as they say, past performance is no guarantee of future returns. And remember: Bet with your head, not over it. Here's video of last year's fateful moment ...
Recalled Saturn Ion facing separate federal safety probe
Fri, 21 Mar 2014General Motors may be staring down another recall campaign for one of its models already embroiled in its high-profile ignition recall. The 2003-2007 Saturn Ion is already among the 1.6-million vehicles being recalled for faulty ignition switches, and now new light is being shed on a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation over 2004-2007 models centering on a loss of power steering.
The government safety regulator has received 846 complaints about the problem and claims that GM has had 3,489 reports of failure. Of those cases, there have been 16 accidents and 2 injuries reported, according to Automotive News. While NHTSA has been conducting an investigation since September 2011, no recall has been issued yet.
The inquiry's length was brought to light by an organization called the National Legal and Policy Center that alleges GM and NHTSA have known about the problem but are delaying a recall. It has sent a letter to CEO Mary Barra asking "to recall Saturn Ions for the model years 2004 through 2007 without further delay." The letter in question is available in full on the group's website.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
