This car speaks for itself.  I built this car over the past few years and have used only quality, brand name parts.  I guarantee you will never see another Saturn like it, and will be hard pressed to see this level of detail in any car you might encounter.

Exterior:

I shaved the gas door and emblems.  There is an RCI aluminum fuel cell in the spare tire well with a Walbro 255 inline fuel pump.  The front bumper is something I fabricated.  Not only will you not see another like it, it does wonders for the look of the car and adds a lot of airflow to the intercooler.  I painted the body using House of Kolor True Blue Pearl, except for the hood, headlight doors, and roof - which are black.  The wheels are Enkei DM5s.  The tires have very little wear.  Two of the wheels have small bends due to potholes, but they do not cause any leaks.  Also, there is a scuff on the passenger rear quarter panel/bumper area where I got too close to the garage when backing it in.  It is not noticeable until you get very close.  There is also a very small knick in the front bumper.  As far as I know, these are the only defects on the car.  I welcome anyone to come see the car in person, even with those small issues it is a magnificent vehicle.

Interior:

The interior is black vinyl with blue cloth (similar color to body).  There are racing seats with 4-point harnesses, which utilize a custom harness bar. The bar is powder coated a blue that is very similar to the body.  I also have four Autometer gauges: Fuel level, oil pressure, boost, EGT, and an AEM wideband AFR; all custom mounted.  In addition, I replaced the factory carpet with a brand new black carpet.  There is also a true short-throw shifter with an aluminum knob.  The shifter has reworked arms, not just “chopped” to make it shorter.  There is also an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player.

Engine:

The engine was completely torn down, thoroughly cleaned, then built using all brand new parts.  I used SCAT forged rods and .040” over Sealed Power pistons.  The CR is about 8.8:1.  The oil pump, water pump, timing kit, bearings and seals are all new.  The head is ported and polished and I installed ARP head studs and stainless steel exhaust studs.  The crankshaft was machined and balanced.  The intake manifold has been re-worked and bored to 3” from the throttle body all the way to the plenum.  I welded a new mounting plate to accommodate a 3” GM throttle body.  I used a Fel-Pro silicone valve cover gasket and the valve cover has been powder coated blue to match the paint.  The ignition uses MSD coil packs with Accel 8mm wires.  The fuel rail has been polished and accepts a SS braided line with AN fittings.  The TAM mount is custom made and uses Energy Suspension poly bushings.  The dogbone mounts are also custom made out of T6061 aluminum and also use the Energy poly bushings.  I custom mounted an aluminum half radiator with a 12” SPAL fan to clear the turbo setup.  The battery location was moved and I installed a small race battery.  The transmission has a welded differential pin so you don’t have to worry about it coming out with the added power.  Also, the transmission is fully hand polished.  The pullies and brackets are also powder coated blue.  All new stainless bolts and hardware were used.  I promise you that the level of detail here is very, very rare.  There are 55 miles on the new build.

Turbo Setup:

I used a 1/2 ” mild steel flange and fabricated an equal-length turbo manifold using Sch. 40 stainless steel.  The turbo flange and wastegate flange are also 1/2 ” and mild steel.  The turbocharger is a Holset H1C.  Apparently, there are two sizes of H1C turbos; this is the larger one.  I can get numbers off of it if you need me to.  The wastegate is a 38mm Tial.  The downpipe and exhaust system are 3” stainless steel.  I have a  Flowmaster 70 Series muffler, which splits to two, 2.5” outlets for a dual exhaust.  I have video clips of the exhaust if you would like to see how it sounds (amazing sound, lots of turbo whistle).  The intercooler piping is all 2.5” and is powder coated gunmetal.  I have a good size front mount intercooler with 2.5” in/out.  All oil and fuel lines are SS braided with AN fittings.

I currently do not have a spring in the wastegate as the car is running off of the factory computer, but I do have several springs I will include.  I have installed a MegaSquirt stand-alone fuel system, but have not used or tuned it.  I have installed MOLEX connectors that make changing between the factory computer and MegaSquirt easy.  All the extra sensors needed for the MegaSquirt are also installed.  The car is fully drivable, but I would suggest not driving it until it has been tuned using the MegaSquirt or a different system of your choosing.

I’m sure I have left out something, I have simply done so much to this car that it is hard to remember everything.  The pictures speak for themselves; this really is a remarkable car.  If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them.  If you would like to see the car in person, please contact me.  If the weather is accommodating, we can take it around my neighborhood.  I will drive and we won’t go far, as I don’t have it plated or insured.

The reserve is MUCH lower than the car is worth, I could easily get $5000 by parting it out and selling the car separately, but I don’t really have time for that, so the reserve is WELL under that.  Again, if you have any questions or need more pictures, feel free to ask.

*Due to the nature of the car and the fact that it is not tuned, I would strongly suggest the buyer pick the vehicle up with a trailer or dolly.  The car is drivable, but since the stock PCM is not designed to use the equipment installed, it is in your best interest to tune the car before you drive it long distances.  If you still wish to drive the vehicle home, that is fine, this is only my suggestion.

Woman Cleared In Fatal Car Wreck After GM Letter

Tue, Nov 25 2014

A Texas judge cleared a woman Monday for a car accident that killed her fiance in 2004, after General Motors acknowledged that her car would have been among millions being recalled for a problem that may have contributed to the death. Candice Anderson was driving a 2004 Saturn Ion when it suddenly veered off a road about 60 miles east of Dallas and slammed into a tree. Anderson, then 21, was severely injured when the car's air bags failed to deploy. Her 25-year-old fiance, Gene Erikson, who was a passenger, was killed. She later pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the wreck. But during a hearing Monday, State District Judge Teresa Drum expunged the conviction from her record, according to officials in the Van Zandt County court andAnderson's attorney, Bob Hilliard. In a letter given to the court ahead of the hearing, an attorney for the automaker confirmed that Anderson's Saturn would have been among 2.6 million GM vehicles recalled in February to address ignition switches that can slip out of the "run" position, causing the engines to stall and disabling power steering, brakes and air bags. Anderson's crash "is one in which the recall condition may have caused or contributed to the frontal air bag non-deployment in the accident," attorney Richard C. Godfrey wrote. Hilliard provided a copy of the letter to The Associated Press, and Godfrey confirmed its contents Monday. Anderson was initially charged with criminally negligent homicide because there was no clear explanation at the time why the wreck occurred, according to court documents from the case. She pleaded guilty to a letter charge in 2006, and was sentenced to five years' probation. She also was ordered to perform 260 hours of community service, pay court costs and cover the costs of Erikson's funeral. "GM knew this defect caused this death, yet instead of telling the truth watched silently as Candice was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter," Hilliard said Monday. "It took 10 years for GM to find its voice." In a separate statement issued by the company, GM said it "cooperated fully by providing technical information that was requested to make a decision in this matter." The carmaker also said the issue in Anderson's case was for local law enforcement and courts to consider. "That's why we took a neutral position on Ms. Anderson's case," the company's statement said. "It was appropriate for the court to determine the legal status of Ms.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
