1999 Saturn Sw2 Base Wagon 4-door 1.9l on 2040-cars
Encino, California, United States
Dear Saturn Aficionados,
I am selling one of my Saturns; I currently own three and I have owned many more during the past years. You could say that I really like the brand! I currently drive a 2004 ion. This is a 1999 Saturn SW2, fully loaded, only 108,000 mile driven (7,200 mile per year average), has been very well maintained, runs like a clock! Registration has been paid in February; purchase now and save on registration fee! All service documentation are available. Original Owners Booklet is included. Premium Sony Xplod Sound System with Bluetooth Integration, which will allow you Full Safe Hands Free Talk with your cellular phone (requires your phone to have bluetooth)! Tires are still good for another 15,000-20,000 miles. Brakes as well. Premium Tinted Windows (Rear/Legal). Exterior paint has some wear due to age, nothing obvious. I still get compliments on the looks of the car (wish I would get the same compliments about how I look!). This is an awesome car, which will run another 100,000 miles, if maintained properly (those who know, know!). It consumes very little gas, especially for a 16 valve DOHC. Perfect car for people who like to have cargo space without having to drive a Tank! Voted most popular car with dog owners! (ask the dogs). The best part about Saturns, to my humble opinion, is the extremely affordable costs of repair and parts, if they ever break-down! Don't Let This Car Get Away! If you are looking for a safe, reliable, useful and affordable car which won't cost you an arm and a leg (unless you juggle Chainsaws!), this is the car! |

Saturn Vue ignition issue was discussed three times before recall, new documents reveal
Fri, 05 Sep 2014Despite the tens of millions of recalled vehicles this year, it's somewhat rare that we get a glimpse into what goes into deciding when to conduct one of these safety campaigns. New documents published by General Motors and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are giving us an interesting opportunity to see how the sausage is made and show the number of meetings it takes to declare a recall.
In early August, GM added about another 269,000 vehicles to its 2014 recall tally in the US when it announced a slew of new safety campaigns. Among them was a fix for the 2002-2004 Saturn Vue that covered 202,155 of them in the US. The problem was that the key could be removed from the ignition even when it wasn't in the "OFF" position, and that had caused two crashes and one injury, according to the automaker.
Where we start to see behind the veil is in the defect notice freshly released by NHTSA. It shows that GM began investigating more widely for ignition switches in April, shortly after the company expanded its ignition switch recall to a variety of Saturn products, among others, according to Automotive News. The automaker found 152 reports in the 2002-2004 Vue of vehicles rolling away or the key being removed out of a total population of 215,243 units worldwide.
Clever video selling Saturn Ion "sex machine" will catch your eye
Thu, 28 Feb 2013"When I think of the most impressive, industry changing, earth shattering vehicles of recent history, the first car that comes to my mind is the 2004 Saturn Ion Coupe." So says Brad Holt of Dallas, Texas. And he's right, clearly. One look at the specific specimen Holt is selling will be enough to convince you that the car "will absolutely tickle every one of your fancies," as claimed by the seller himself.
We suggest you watch the video below to see just how perfectly Holt's sex machine will fit into your life. The end result will no doubt be exactly as Holt ends his video: "You need it. Like a lot." You can also read more info from Brad in an interview here. If only our offices were a little closer to Dallas...
Saturn Ion steering probe closed by NHTSA
Tue, 22 Apr 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has closed its investigation into faulty electric power steering motors affecting 334,728 Saturn Ions from 2004-2007, because General Motors has issued a recall for them. The group's research found that the part failed at a high rate in the vehicles.
GM recalled over 1.3 million vehicles a few weeks ago, including the Ion, because the power steering could suddenly fail. If broken, the cars could still turn, but it took greater effort. The automaker is also covering 96,324 2003 Ions with a lifetime warranty for their motors, but it's not immediately replacing them.
NHTSA opened its investigation into the motors in September 2011, and it found 4,787 complaints and 30,560 warranty claims that showed failure for the Ion alone. It estimated a complaint rate of 14.3 incidents per 1,000 vehicles and warranty claim rate of 9.1 percent. The investigation also found evidence of 12 crashes caused by loss of steering, two of which resulted in injuries.
