Second Time Listing Due To NON PAYING EBAYER!  Please only bid if you have the means to buy and purchase within 7 days of end!

Up for sale this week is my 2002 Saab 9-3 Turbo with only 90k miles....  This car is ready to go with no major issues.  I will break down and list by categorie and opinion below.  *again, this is solely my opinion as the owner, i am not a mechanic.  I full encourage anyone and everyone to come and inspect the vehicle by any means.

Exterior: This is the royal blue color.  The paint is not perfect by any means...  I would rate it a 5 out of 10.  It deffinately has its share of Dings and dents, most of them i tryed to show you in the pics.  There are alot of TREE SAP markings on the car.  It could deffinately use a Nice Detail with buff and wax.  there is Zero RUST on the car. All of the lights work

Interior:  This has the nice sleek black leather interior and is in overall good condition.  I would rate it a 8 out of 10.  All buttons and features work on the car, including the sunroof.  There are some stains on the back rear seats and the carpets could use a shampoo.  The radio, heat and ac all work (allthough the antenna is broken so the radio signal is weak)  The dash and LED are all good, the drivers right arm rest is a lil loose and the drivers seat switch control is loose as well.  There are no cracks or rips.  the rear cargo area is clean and comes with original jack and spare as well as netting.

Engine: This is the 4 cyl. turbo engine.  Not much to say about it... i just put a battery in last month. The oil is good, there is no sounds,or any leaks of fluid.  the engine has 90,942 original miles. The transmission shifts perfectly!  The car still has a Valid Mass inspection sticker good until the end of next month.

Rims & Tires: The tires are in great shape, all 4 match and all 4 still have about 80% tread left.  Rims are pretty good as well.  some very very slight scratches on them but i would rate it a 9 out of 10.  Again, they should be detailed to take off more of the brake dust.

Exhaust: There is a slight exhaust leak at the Rear of the Muffler.  I believe a clamp is broken?  (but i am not a mechanic)  It just started to get slightly loud last week.  Again, its really not that bad i just wanted to inform you of all the imperfections.

My name is jay, The car is Located in 02333.  (about 25 mins South of BOSTON)  I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to come take a look at the car, start it up, look around, drive it, etc... I am not a mechanic and the above statements are only my honest opinion.  I will not be held responsible for items above not described correctly or any items i missed by accident. There are companys out there that will come look at a car (for a fee).  Please, as a buyer, do your dillegence.  There is not exsisting warranty or implied warranty.  You are buying a used car.

Payment: I require an immediate paypal depost of 500$.  You then have 3 days to pay the remaining balance, either by paypal or cash in hand apon pick up.  You then have 7 days from end of auction to remove the car from my property.  NO exceptions!!!  If car is not picked up in 7 days, buyer will forfeit any moneys (deposit or other) and i will Re List the car.

*If you have any questions please ask Before Car ends, not after!   i will not be held responsible if you do not ask the proper questions.  I have stated all i know about the car above. Clean and clear title in hand!   I have 100% pos feedback and have been on ebay for 10 Years!   bid with confidence.

Boeing, Saab take first flight in T-X trainer 36 months after starting development

Wed, Dec 21 2016

This post is appearing on Autoblog Military, Autoblog's sub-site dedicated to the vehicles, aircraft and ships of the world's armed forces. Bringing a new fighter from drawing board to its first flight is generally a lengthy endeavor, taking years of planning and tweaking and engineering. Or, at least it normally does. Boeing and Saab just took their new joint-developed training fighter, the T-X, out for its first spin just 36 months after starting development. According to Saab's deputy program manager for the T-X, Eddy De la Motte, that's half the time it usually takes to get a new jet in the sky. "We went from [critical design review] to first flight in 12 months. We don't do that very much at the Boeing Company," Boeing's program manager for the T-X, Ted Torgerson told Defense News. "I don't want to say it has not been done, but for a manned aircraft to go through a complete production-ready design, that is as fast and as efficient as we've ever been through it." Boeing/Saab's first test flight was a simple, 55-minute matter for Boeing test pilots Steven Schmidt and Dan Draeger. The pair took the plane up to 10,000 feet and hit speeds of 231 knots (265 miles per hour) while running handling checks on the twin-tail, single-engine jet. "I've been a part of this team since the beginning, and it was really exciting to be the first to train and fly," pilot Schmidt said. "The aircraft met all expectations. It's well designed and offers superior handling characteristics. The cockpit is intuitive, spacious and adjustable, so everything is within easy reach." "It was a smooth flight and a successful test mission," Draeger, who rode shotgun in the instructor's seat said in an official release. "I had a great all-around view throughout the flight from the instructor's seat, which is critical during training." Boeing/Saab's T-X is one of four jets competing for the role as the US military's next training aircraft. Northrop Grumman is fielding a clean-sheet design that allegedly flew earlier this year, while Lockheed Martin and Raytheon are modifying existing designs with partners – the South Korean KAI T-50 for Lockheed and the Leonardo M-346 for Raytheon. Vampire Weekend burns for Saab

Thu, 21 Mar 2013

Or is it the other way around?
Could Vampire Weekend be trying to tell me something? A just-launched music video for the indie rock band's new single Diane Young features what looks like a pretty mint black Saab 900 Turbo Convertible being torched in slow-motion. In fact, with the exception of a brief, flickering cameo by a 900 three-door of a similar vintage, that's all that there is to the nearly three-minute long video. It's both sad and oddly beautiful.
Coincidentally, I have a similar-looking turbocharged black Saab convertible sitting in my garage, and I've been reluctantly pondering its sale this very week. Admittedly, mine is a later model (2001 9-3 Viggen), but tri-spokes and more tapered rump aside, it looks eerily identical. And while mine isn't mired in flames (I love it too much to torch it), through no fault of its own, it's been sitting motionless far too regularly. Thankfully, I see a better future for it than the droptop seen above.

Are orphan cars better deals?

Wed, Dec 30 2015

Most folks don't know a Saturn Aura from an Oldsmobile Aurora. Those of you who are immersed in the labyrinth of automobilia know that both cars were testaments to the mediocrity that was pre-bankruptcy General Motors, and that both brands are now long gone. But everybody else? Not so much. By the same token, there are some excellent cars and trucks that don't raise an eyebrow simply because they were sold under brands that are no longer being marketed. Orphan brands no longer get any marketing love, and because of that they can be alarmingly cheap. Case in point, take a look at how a 2010 Saturn Outlook compares with its siblings, the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave. According to the Manheim Market Report, the Saturn will sell at a wholesale auto auction for around $3,500 less than the comparably equipped Buick or GMC. Part of the reason for this price gap is that most large independent dealerships, such as Carmax, make it a point to avoid buying cars with orphaned badges. Right now if you go to Carmax's site, you'll find that there are more models from Toyota's Scion sub-brand than Mercury, Saab, Pontiac, Hummer, and Saturn combined. This despite the fact that these brands collectively sold in the millions over the last ten years while Scion has rarely been able to realize a six-figure annual sales figure for most of its history. That is the brutal truth of today's car market. When the chips are down, used-car shoppers are nearly as conservative as their new-car-buying counterparts. Unfamiliarity breeds contempt. Contempt leads to fear. Fear leads to anger, and pretty soon you wind up with an older, beat-up Mazda MX-5 in your driveway instead of looking up a newer Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky. There are tons of other reasons why orphan cars have trouble selling in today's market. Worries about the cost of repair and the availability of parts hang over the industry's lost toys like a cloud of dust over Pigpen. Yet any common diagnostic repair database, such as Alldata, will have a complete framework for your car's repair and maintenance, and everyone from junkyards to auto parts stores to eBay and Amazon stock tens of thousands of parts. This makes some orphan cars mindblowingly awesome deals if you're willing to shop in the bargain bins of the used-car market. Consider a Suzuki Kizashi with a manual transmission. No, really.
