Hello and thank you for looking at my auction.

Up for auction today is a 1995 Saab 900S Convertible.  This Saab is in good condition for its age and mileage and has just PASSED MARYLAND INSPECTION.  As you can see, this is a nice vehicle.  It is finished in white with black interior.  The exterior is in good condition with no major dents but quite a few blemishes, as would be expected from a 18 year old car.  Even with the blemishes the car looks nice overall.  All of the body lines are smooth and even and all of the glass and lenses are intact.  The alloy wheels show very little curb rash and are wrapped in a fairly new set of Kelly Charger GT tires with about 80% tread remaining.  Please take your time and review each of the photos carefully.

The interior of this Saab is in very great condition for its age and mileage.  The black interior compliments well with the white exterior and shows well.  The dash is clean and has no cracks, faded spots or excessive wear.  The carpets also show well throughout the interior.  The door panels are clean and intact.  The power windows, locks, mirrors and heated seats all work properly . The leather seats are clean and comfortable and the trunk area is also clean and well kept.  The convertible top will not go down (says check latches when button is pressed) and is a very common problem with Saab's.  The A/C is currently being repaired by my mechanic (has a leak somewhere and will cool when recharged but slowly leaks down and then will not cool).  The radio does not work.  This Saab comes with one set of keys.  This Saab has been well taken care of.

Mechanically, this Saab is in great running and driving condition.  The engine starts easily and runs smoothly.  The 2.3 liter engine has good power.  The engine does not smoke.  The 5-speed manual transmission shifts into all gears with ease.  The suspension is nice and tight as it should be.  The steering feels neutral and responsive.  The brakes stop this Passat with no problems.  The engine keeps proper temperature and oil pressure at all times.  There have been no warning lights on (except washer fluid low).  It drives down the road confidently and feels solid.  This car gets EXCELLENT GAS MILEAGE.  Out on the highway, this Saab cruises effortlessly.  It goes straight down the road with no complaints and can be driven with ease.  Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly read this entire description.  This vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability.  Car can be viewed anytime, just send me a message to set up appointment.

This vehicle had a new muffler installed and a fuel filler neck repair to pass Maryland inspection and the A/C is currently being repaired.

Buying a vehicle over the internet can be scary so I take many actions to make you feel secure with your purchase:

1. I take the time/effort and spend the money to get my vehicles through Maryland safety inspection. Maryland has one of the toughest safety inspections in the country so if a vehicle passes Maryland safety inspection "I believe" it will pass any states safety inspection.

2. I give a very detailed report of the vehicle Interior / Exterior / Mechanical condition. I have a mechanical background, "but I am not a car mechanic". I have been buying and selling cars for over 25 years so I know a lot about cars. I am as honest and accurate as possible about vehicles that I sell. You can always ask me questions about vehicles that I am selling or arrange to come see the vehicle before bidding.

3. I upload over 20 pictures of every vehicle and will try my best to send you any specific pictures that you ask for.

4. My vehicles are usually priced around KBB.com privaty party values, which are much lower than the retail values that most dealers charge for vehicles on their car lot (but higher than the junk cars they sell on EBay that need a lot of work).   My profit margin is very low because of the time and money I put into reconditioning each vehicle and getting it through Maryland inspection. You always get a great deal and a car you can trust.

BEWARE OF VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT INSPECTED!!! Many people think they are getting a great deal on vehicles they buy on EBay for inexpensive prices only to find out when they take it through inspection that it needs thousands of dollars worth of work. I usually spend over a thousand dollars and put in hours of work on each vehicle to get it ready to pass Maryland inspection.

My vehicles are also for sale locally and auction may be ended early in accordance with Ebay policies.

Cars are sold AS IS / WHERE IS.

A $149 DEALER DOCUMENT FEE WILL BE CHARGED ON ALL SALES (including "best offers") AND INCLUDES A TEMPORARY TAG IF NEEDED (proof of insurance and all information for title/registration is needed 24 hours before temporary tag can be issued).

Thanks for looking and good luck biding.

New owners still struggling to secure rights to use Saab name

Wed, 27 Jun 2012

Not to state the obvious, but if you're going to buy an automaker, it's probably advisable to secure rights to use the name.
That's what the new owners of Saab are trying to work out after buying the iconic Swedish automaker earlier this month, Automotive News reports.
National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), the Chinese-Japanese conglomerate, acquired the company's physical assets, including its factory in Trollhättan, but didn't get rights to use the Saab name and logo. Truckmaker Scania and defense company Saab AB maintain the name and logo rights, and will need to sign off on NEVS using it, according to the publication. The parties are in discussions.

Junkyard Gem: 1988 Saab 900

Tue, Nov 29 2016

Saab had a cult following in North America going back to the two-stroke Saab 96, but it wasn't until the 900 made its debut for the 1978 model year that the marque started to be considered a mainstream – if still a bit odd – brand here. Based on the venerable 99 but seeming a lot more modern, the 900 sold well to those who wanted to drive something sensibly Scandinavian but didn't want the stodginess of a Volvo. These cars were especially popular in Colorado, and I found this high-mile-but-solid '88 in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. Nearly made it to 300,000 miles, but it never got the chance. The key is still in the console-mounted ignition switch, and the steel lanyard indicates that this car went to the wrecking yard via an insurance-company or dealership-trade-in auction. Since the car has no major body damage, that means that its final owner traded it in – reluctantly, we hope – on another car, and nobody was willing to bid over scrap value for the elderly Swede at auction. Most such auctions have an arrangement with a local wrecking yard to take all the unsold cars for a set price, and that's what we can assume happened to this car. Chances are that it was still in running condition when it showed up here. You could get a 1988 Saab 900 with a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission, but I can't recall having ever seen one so equipped. Most Saab 900 buyers insisted on manuals. The engine in this car is a slant-four based on the same Triumph engine used in the Triumph TR7. By the 1980s, Saab had made sufficient improvements to the design that it was several orders of magnitude more reliable than its British Leyland ancestors. This one made 110 horses, which did an acceptable job of moving the car's 2,695 pounds. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Chunk of ice smashes man's windshield

Tue, Jan 5 2016

Driving a car piled with snow isn't just lazy, it's dangerous. A driver on Interstate 495 South in Massachusetts learned that the hard way last week after a huge chunk of ice flew off the top of an SUV and onto his windshield. Jeffrey Cote's dashboard camera was running as he drove his Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon down the freeway in Haverhill, MA, Wednesday morning. He was following an SUV in the left hand lane. The SUV doesn't appear to have too much accumulation on it, but the owners clearly didn't remove the snow and ice from the very top of the vehicle. A large chunk of ice flew off the top of the SUV, spun through the air and shattered Cotes windshield. Cote's must be one of the cooler heads on Massachusetts' roads. He didn't swerve, or swear or even gasp. Despite being unable to see the road and covered in glass Cotes safely moved over to the right lanes and safely pulled off on to the shoulder after the accident. The ice not only totally destroyed Cote's windshield but damaged a wiper arm and his side mirror as well. "If I had braked harder, I could have avoided impact," Cotes wrote in the video description. "But it initially appeared the piece was going to fall in front of me." Cotes couldn't read the driver's license plate on the footage and told CBS Boston that he doesn't think the other driver even realizes what occurred. He told the news station he hopes the video reminds people to do the right thing and clear the snow off their cars. "Just a few seconds, just try to slam as much ice as possible off your roof," Cotes told CBS Boston. "Because, it could have gone a lot worse, and it could save someone's life if you do a better job cleaning," Cote said. News Source: CBS Boston Saab Driving Safety Videos snow winter driving cold
