Hello, my name is Terry Maxwell the owner of terryscars. I personally have served the car buying public for over 30 years. Most of my career I managed a new car dealership. I am now semi-retired and sell most of my vehicles on eBay. I am licensed and bonded, bid with confidence. I own a small independent pre-owned car dealership. I am the only employee. I started buying and selling on eBay over 7 years ago. I have been an avid Harley rider for over 25 years and try to buy and sell them when ever I get a chance.

The majority of my vehicles come from new car dealer trades . My dealership is located in Troutman NC just minutes from Statesville NC. Take I 77 to exit 42 , turn left and go 0.4 mile. We are located on the left 820 S Main St Troutman NC 28166. Look for the US boat propeller sign, we share the parking lot.

All of the great feedback I have is for vehicles sold. (I have another account that buys and sells other items) The majority of my vehicles are sold with NO RESERVE !!!

GUARANTEE 100% SATISFACTION : I will refund all your money if vehicle is not as described or you are not pleased in any way when you arrive for delivery. If vehicle is shipped and not as described I will refund full purchase price (buyer pays for all shipping of vehicle, must call within 2 days of delivery and have been driving less than 100 miles).

I personally drive all vehicles and check them out before listing them on eBay. I drive motorcycles around my neighborhood and I drive all cars at least 20 miles to get the fluids warm. I then check all electrical items, A/C, brakes. etc. I park the vehicles and let them sit 45 minutes and check for any fluid leaks on the ground. If anything does not work properly I will let you know. Of course I am only human and these are mechanical creatures

All vehicles are on retail display . I may or may not have hand books, floor mats, and additional keys. I generally do, if not I can obtain them at a minimal cost. I try to give the most accurate description I can. Do not assume anything not listed is included. If you are not sure about something, please ASK.

A large number of the vehicles listed are recent trades that are being sold at great prices and will not be detailed or serviced by me. Please plan on servicing and detailing the vehicle when you get it home.

Pre Owned vehicles are sold AS-IS. Pre Owned vehicles are subject to certain wear and tear both cosmetically and mechanically.

Please review terms of sale for tax, tag and $299 Document Handling Fee information. This fee helps cover my expense in listing and selling vehicles as well as the paper work involved. This fee applies to all buyers including other dealers. A free 30 day temporary tag will also be provided.

Any questions please contact me. My cell phone is 704 902 9258.

Buyers are responsible for pickup or shipping. If you wish to use a transport service I will gladly cooperate. I offer free Airport pick up at Charlotte NC (CLT) for buyers flying in. Please make arrangements at least 48 hours in advance of your arrival and call before you finalize your flight.

Please call with the time and date you wish to pickup your vehicle. I am never in the office. I will meet you there by appointment. Normal pickup times are Mon-Thur 9-5 and Fri 9-3, but I will try to accommodate all buyers. Sorry closed every Saturday, Sunday and all Holidays. THANKS FOR LOOKING !!!!!!!!!!! and good luck bidding

Rally legend Erik Carlsson dies at 86

    Wed, May 27 2015

The motorsports world has lost a legend with the passing of famous rally driver Erik Carlsson at the age of 86. If you've ever seen a photo of a vintage Saab sliding around a corner or blasting through tree-lined roads, there was a good chance that Carlsson was behind the wheel. The man was so tied to the Swedish auto brand that he earned the nickname Mr. Saab. Carlsson experienced his greatest competition success in the late '50s and early '60s when he scored victories in premier events like the Monte Carlo Rally (pictured above). Among his more impressive performances were consecutive wins in '60, '61, and '62 Britain's RAC Rally. His three-cylinder, 750cc Saab 96 wasn't insanely powerful, but Carlsson made it a monster in the world of rallying. In 2010, Saab named a special edition 9-3 after him and honored his victory at the RAC Club in London. Beyond being impressive behind the wheel of a rally car and a longtime Saab brand ambassador, the driver had a habit of rolling his car during competition to earn the moniker "Carlsson On The Roof." According to Classic and Sports Car, he also wrote the book The Art and Technique of Driving that detailed his left-foot braking method, and it was co-authored with his wife, fellow racing driver Pat Moss. Our condolences go out to Carlsson's friends and family.

    Junkyard Gem: 1988 Saab 900

    Tue, Nov 29 2016

Saab had a cult following in North America going back to the two-stroke Saab 96, but it wasn't until the 900 made its debut for the 1978 model year that the marque started to be considered a mainstream – if still a bit odd – brand here. Based on the venerable 99 but seeming a lot more modern, the 900 sold well to those who wanted to drive something sensibly Scandinavian but didn't want the stodginess of a Volvo. These cars were especially popular in Colorado, and I found this high-mile-but-solid '88 in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. Nearly made it to 300,000 miles, but it never got the chance. The key is still in the console-mounted ignition switch, and the steel lanyard indicates that this car went to the wrecking yard via an insurance-company or dealership-trade-in auction. Since the car has no major body damage, that means that its final owner traded it in – reluctantly, we hope – on another car, and nobody was willing to bid over scrap value for the elderly Swede at auction. Most such auctions have an arrangement with a local wrecking yard to take all the unsold cars for a set price, and that's what we can assume happened to this car. Chances are that it was still in running condition when it showed up here. You could get a 1988 Saab 900 with a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission, but I can't recall having ever seen one so equipped. Most Saab 900 buyers insisted on manuals. The engine in this car is a slant-four based on the same Triumph engine used in the Triumph TR7. By the 1980s, Saab had made sufficient improvements to the design that it was several orders of magnitude more reliable than its British Leyland ancestors. This one made 110 horses, which did an acceptable job of moving the car's 2,695 pounds. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. What would you drive in 1985?

    Wed, May 6 2020

Bereft of live baseball games to watch, I've turned to the good ship YouTube to watch classic games. While watching the 1985 American League Championship Series last night, several of the broadcast's commercials made its way into the original VHS recording, including those for cars. "Only 8.8% financing on a 1985 Ford Tempo!" What a deal! That got me thinking: what would I drive in 1985?  It sure wouldn't be a Tempo. Or an IROC-Z, for that matter, despite what my Photoshopped 1980s self would indicate in the picture above. I posed this question to my fellow Autobloggists. Only one could actually drive back then, I was only 2 and a few editors weren't even close to being born. Here are our choices, which were simply made with the edict of "Come on, man, be realistic."  West Coast Editor James Riswick: OK, I started this, I'll go first. I like coupes today, so I'm pretty sure I'd drive one back then. I definitely don't see myself driving some badge-engineered GM thing from 1985, and although a Honda Prelude has a certain appeal, I must admit that something European would likely be in order. A BMW maybe? No, I'm too much a contrarian for that. The answer is therefore a 1985 Saab 900 Turbo 3-Door, which is not only a coupe but a hatchback, too. If I could scrounge up enough Reagan-era bucks for the ultra-cool SPG model, that would be rad. The 900 Turbo pictured, which was for auction on Bring a Trailer a few years ago, came with plum-colored Bokhara Red, and you're damn sure I would've had me one of those. Nevermind 1985, I'd probably drive this thing today.   Associate Editor Byron Hurd: I'm going to go with the 1985.5 Ford Mustang SVO, AKA the turbocharged Fox Body that everybody remembers but nobody drives. The mid-year update to the SVO bumped the power up from 175 ponies (yeah, yeah) to 205, making it almost as powerful (on paper, anyway) as the V8-powered GT models offered in the same time frame. I chose this particular car because it's a bit of a time capsule and, simultaneously, a reminder that all things are cyclical. Here we are, 35 years later, and 2.3-liter turbocharged Mustangs are a thing again. Who would have guessed?
