I'm selling my 1994 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible.  Very good condition.  It's been my  weekend beach cruiser for the last 2 years.  Garage kept.  Car drives and handles great - the whir of the Turbo is intoxicating, and urges you to accelerate so you can hear it as often as possible.

I purchased the car just over 2 years ago, and have only put about 2k miles on it since.  When I bought it I had the front brakes/rotors replaced, as well as the ignition (car now starts in neutral rather than having to start it in reverse gear).  Time to make room for other toys in my garage.

This was the last year for the 900 Turbo Convertible before the body style changed and is the fully loaded Commemorative Edition - MSRP when new was over $42k!!!

Stereo is an aftermarket Sony Xplod CD player with an Aux cable input to play your iPod or MP3 player.  Sounds great.

Heated Driver's seat, power seats, power mirrors, power locks and power convertible top all work great.

A/C, cruise control, washer spray, headlight wipers and rear defrost are not working but components are present.  Does not have the original fog lights.

The convertible top has some repairs to it, but does not leak.  Dash is free of any cracks or damage.  All glass is original and in great shape.

Driver's side seat has some typical wear on the side bolster - other than that, the leather seats look amazing.

Original alloy wheels have some pitting, dings and scratches typical of a 20 year old vehicle.  The paint on the hood is faded slightly, as is the front emblem.  Paint on the sides and trunk looks very good.  There is rust on the driver's side door jam, in the usual place for these older saabs.  The previous owner lived on the ocean, so there is surface rust on the trim pieces and on the chrome parts - like the seat belts.  Tires are Kumho in the front with about 30% tread remaining, Michelins in the rear with about 20% tread remaining.

Overall, a great daily driver, weekend tourer or an easy project car to restore to it's original condition.  Incredible low, original miles!

Please ask any questions before bidding - your bid is a contract, so please only bid if you are willing to purchase the vehicle.  $500 non-refundable deposit via paypal due within 24 hours of the end of the auction.  Remaining balance due within 7 days after close - cash, or certified funds only, personal checks must clear my bank before vehicle will be released.  Clear Florida title in hand. Shipping is the responsibility of the Buyer.  Car is being sold as is, where is - with no warranty stated or implied.

Court extends Saab reorganization bid until end of November

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

Saab parent company National Electric Vehicle Sweden refuses to go down without a fight. After a recent trip to court, the company is emerging with an extension on its reorganization until November 29. According to Europe Online Magazine, there's also an appointed committee of creditors and union representatives to monitor NEVS' restructuring process.
NEVS still isn't giving up hope of saving itself, and the company claims there are has two potential strategies for getting back on its feet. The main plan is to "finalize the negotiations with the two Asian automotive manufacturers," according to a press release. Those firms still aren't identified, but Mahindra may be involved. According to Europe Online Magazine, one of the businesses is looking to take partial ownership of NEVS, and the other is considering some sort of cooperation with it.
If that plan fails, the second option is to take advantage of the factory and become a contract manufacturer.

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

Saab 9-3 production to start in China in 2013 [UPDATE]

Thu, 17 Jan 2013

We knew that National Electric Vehicle Sweden planned to restart production of the last-gen Saab 9-3 at some point in the future, we just didn't know exactly when, or exactly where. As it turns out, the answers to those questions are soon, and China.
Though NEVS had initially said it will build vehicles in Sweden before shipping them to China, the latest report from Autocar suggests that the cars will instead be built right in Quingdao starting later in 2013. That's right, this calendar year. Also on the docket is a followup electric version of the 9-3, which is slated to come to market in 2014 in an effort to satiate China's wish that there be half a million EVs silently filling its streets within the next two years.
NEVS wants to be part of the EV solution, but it's not going to be easy. Naturally, if these cars are to be built in China, a factory has to be located or built, tooling needs to be in place, workers need to be hired and trained and a lengthy trail of paperwork has to be signed off by the government before even the well-known gasoline-powered 9-3 can be a reality, let along the unknown quantity that is the 9-3 ePower.
