For sale is a 1989 SAAB 900 SPG. This particular one features the Edwardian Black exterior with the matching leather interior. The leather driver's seat has been recently reupholstered, the headliner replaced, and any other worn interior parts either cleaned or replaced. The Engine has recently been check out by an import auto specialist and has had the carbon cleaned out of the engine for like new performance. The engine runs well, turbo spools up nicely, and it pulls strong through all of the gears. It has a new water pump (not due to overheating), thermostat, spark plugs, oil change, radiator hoses, APC solenoid, valve cover gasket, distributor cap and rotor, and many other parts. However, the A/C does not work. I have fitted it with a rebuilt A/C compressor, genuine Saab r134 retrofit kit, expansion valve, and new O-rings. I was still not able to get it to operate, and I have ran out of the money to try to fix it. The other small problems with it include some cracking of the paint on the hood, missing headliner on the sunroof only (the rest of the headliner is there), and a small dent on the left rear quarter panel. The condition is sitting between fair and good. The book value on the vehicle is around 4,500, however I am asking 3,500 in order to take the inoperable A/C into account. Court extends Saab reorganization bid until end of November
Fri, 10 Oct 2014Saab parent company National Electric Vehicle Sweden refuses to go down without a fight. After a recent trip to court, the company is emerging with an extension on its reorganization until November 29. According to Europe Online Magazine, there's also an appointed committee of creditors and union representatives to monitor NEVS' restructuring process.
NEVS still isn't giving up hope of saving itself, and the company claims there are has two potential strategies for getting back on its feet. The main plan is to "finalize the negotiations with the two Asian automotive manufacturers," according to a press release. Those firms still aren't identified, but Mahindra may be involved. According to Europe Online Magazine, one of the businesses is looking to take partial ownership of NEVS, and the other is considering some sort of cooperation with it.
If that plan fails, the second option is to take advantage of the factory and become a contract manufacturer.

According to the Associated Press, a Hong Kong-based concern is close to building new Saab models. After some delays, National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) has completed the purchase of bankrupt Swedish automaker Saab.
NEVS says it plans to debut an electric vehicle in about 18 months. When the car comes to market, it will wear the Saab name, but not the marque's well-known griffin logo. Reuters reports that the company will produce EVs based on the Saab 9-3 platform, with intentions to sell these vehicles primarily in the Chinese market. Due to the continued use of the distinctive griffin head logo by commercial truckmaker Scania and the Saab aerospace group, NEVS was only granted access to the Saab name, not its emblem.
3 former Saab execs charged with tax evasion
Mon, 20 May 2013The Associated Press reports three former Saab executives have been arrested on charges of accounting fraud. Swedish prosecutor Olof Sahlgren has refused to identify the individuals, but says they're suspected of attempting to evade taxes by falsifying Saab accounts between 2010 and 2011 during the Spyker years. Other reports indicate the parties involved include former General Counsel to Saab Kristina Geers (seen to the left of former CEO Victor Muller, above), a 15-year-veteran of the company - her husband, Eric, was the company's communications director for 9 years as well.
Saab filed for bankruptcy in 2011, and was purchased shortly thereafter by National Electric Vehicle Sweden. If convicted, the trio could face up to four years in prison for their crimes under Swedish law.
