'95 Saab 900 Se Convertible! Very Nice! No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Plainville, Connecticut, United States

~Saab 900 SE~
Convertible
This Saab came in trade about a year ago. It has been in my showroom ever since. The car is extremely clean and runs and drives excellent. The four cylinder engine has plenty of power and is very fuel efficient. Look at the pictures the body is in great condition. On and off the highway it runs as good as it looks. These older Saab’s are getting harder and harder to find, especially in this condition. This was the previous owner’s summer car. The top was replaced 2 years ago and looks excellent! Spring is on the way enjoy the weather with the top down! This auction is set with NO RESERVE! Highest bidder will own it. Check out my perfect feedback and bid with complete confidence. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 860-883-8597. Thank you and good luck!
Vehicle Condition: This car is in amazing shape given the age. Previous owner was a Saab fanatic. Car has performance exhaust and very expensive Koni suspension. Tires are almost brand new. Everything functions properly. Expect a ding or scratch here or there but that is it. Please all I ask is be realistic. This is not a brand new car but a very nice used car!
Payment options: A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction. Balance to be paid within 7 days via certified funds. A $299.00 dealer conveyance fee is attached to the final price, this includes visual vehicle safety inspection, paperwork preparation and temporary plate if needed. Vehicle sold as is. We will be happy to assist in pickup at the airport or train station. We will also assist in arranging delivery at your expense. All we ask is you have the funds to back your bids. No excuses! No exceptions

Super sleeper Saab 900 does 174 mph in the standing mile
Sun, 14 Apr 2013Somewhere behind Hennessey setting a new top speed record at this year's Texas Mile with its camouflage Ford GT, a stock-looking 1996 Saab 900T pulled up to the line to see what it could do. The dealer showroom wheels wouldn't offer any indication that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood was getting help from a Garrett turbocharger, a tuned ECU and E85 gas to put out 465 horsepower at the front wheels.
Knowing that, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that at the other end of the mile the sky blue Swedish wonder was doing 174 miles per hour. The four-cylinder class at the Texas Mile has plenty such rockets, too, this Swede coming just behind a Dodge Neon that did 175.8 mph. You can watch the Saab do its thing in the video below.
Junkyard Gem: 1986 Saab 900 Turbo
Fri, May 31 2019The Saab 900 sold well in Colorado, and owners of these cars tend to hang onto them for decades. For those reasons, I still find 900s while making my rounds of the self-service wrecking yards in the Denver region. The turbocharged models tended to fail more quickly than their naturally-aspirated counterparts, though, so the 900 Turbo can be tough to find today. Here's a 1986 that took its final tow-truck ride into a Denver yard a couple of months back. The 900 received a makeover for the 1987 model year, so today's Junkyard Gem comes from the final year of the 900 with the endearingly 1960s face derived from its 99 predecessor. Most of these cars didn't chug along for quite as many miles as their Volvo 240 countrymen, but that may be attributable more to the differences in driving style between Volvo and Saab owners. The word TURBO had magical connotations during the 1980s, and so most turbocharged cars of the era boasted big, obvious badging. Red car interiors were all the rage during the 1980s and 1990s. Try to imagine the vivid bordellitude of this upholstery before it faded beneath the blazing Colorado sun. Was it a runner when it arrived here? We'll never know. Born from jets, sure, though the original Saab jet was known as "the Flying Barrel" and wasn't especially graceful-looking. Saab 9-3 production has restarted
Sun, 01 Dec 2013If you're one of the small cadre of Saab drivers, first of all, kudos to you. Because as Top Gear pointed out, Saab drivers are among the most intellectual drivers out there. Secondly, we've got good news for you, because the 9-3 has officially resumed production at the Trollhättan plant in Sweden.
For those of you who may not have followed the story, a quick refresher: Founded in 1947, Saab Automobile AB was an independent automaker until 1989 when General Motors began the decade-long process acquiring it. Unable to make it profitable, GM sold Saab to Spyker in 2010, but that Dutch automaker proved unable to make a go of it, either, and finally shut it down a year later. Much of Saab's assets were acquired by National Electric Vehicle Sweden, which in turn is partially owned by the Chinese city of Qingdao, which pledged to get production back online by the end of the year.
NEVS has apparently made good on its promise, bringing 600 workers back to the factory to resume production of the 9-3 much as it was when a workforce of 3,500 labored on it and its stablemates prior to the bankruptcy. The reborn 9-3 will be sold in Sweden and in China, with an electric version to bring some other updates sometime next year.
