hi and thnx !! OK, it is a SAAB AWD? yes... it is. and it runs great and drives super. I had an Envoy and I know chevys. this is basically a bullet proof, tried and true American SUV. why SAAB? because an interesting twist in style, ride and comfort. whatever they were trying to do, it worked ! this vehicles drives super smooth, great seating, good ride height, well placed gauges, comfy seats, smooth and quiet. plus, the ignition key is in the center console, just like a 9/5!
this is a basic 4.2, fuel injected, AWD, GM product. runs and drives great. engine purrs, and the tranny shifts out fine. around town or on the highway at 75 mph, a pleasure to drive and be seen in. bright paint, straight panels, no damage. classy. interior is fine, full function showing little in the way of wear, if at all. sorry for the lousy shots, but please see all photos carefully, I took all the good and bad I could.
ok, to be picky... the tires show wear but normal and even, it is higher than average miles, but low eBay price, the a/c works well, but the blower door makes noise sometimes (one of the vents), I just have one key/remote, there are really no bumps or scuffs, but could it use a detail. I will run an emission report later, but what I have now tells me OK.
horn, wipers, light, engine, tranny, battery, gauges, exhaust, radio, electric, windows, seats, all ok... just a tad high miles and it runs great.
call, email or just come by. take a drive (drive it home) and inspect. car is ready to go. car, key, title, emissions, bill of sale, gas and go. drive anywhere. buy low and enjoy the ride. AWD for safety, GM for quality and SAAB style ~!~. I say that is a good deal we all can live with. I got a great deal and happy to pass on the savings. bid and buy, drive it home. thank you ~!~

NEVS announces 200 layoffs as it says Saab restart will 'take time'
Fri, 26 Sep 2014For a fleeting moment a few weeks ago, the news from Saab-owner National Electric Vehicle Sweden appeared almost positive. The company had its reorganization plan approved (a day after it was denied), and the automaker was actually showing a real, running vehicle, albeit one with a top speed of 75 miles per hour. But those tiny crumbs of potential goodness have been swept away because NEVS has announced layoffs of as many as 200 factory employees in September "due to lack of work."
Workers probably shouldn't get too eager to return to the factory either, because company's "decision to re-start production will be further delayed" by an unspecified amount of time, NEVS says in a press release. To begin assembling cars again, the company needs to find long-term funding and a new majority owner. Those seem like two very steep hurdles for the embattled automaker to clear.
Despite not producing cars since May, NEVS still claims it's negotiating with a new owner, possibly Mahindra, but according to Reuters, the Swedish company owes about 400 million kronor ($56 million) to creditors. According to its layoff announcement, getting rid of these workers is one step in the business' reorganization plan to be presented on October 8. Scroll down to read its full release.
Saab 9-3 production to start in China in 2013 [UPDATE]
Thu, 17 Jan 2013We knew that National Electric Vehicle Sweden planned to restart production of the last-gen Saab 9-3 at some point in the future, we just didn't know exactly when, or exactly where. As it turns out, the answers to those questions are soon, and China.
Though NEVS had initially said it will build vehicles in Sweden before shipping them to China, the latest report from Autocar suggests that the cars will instead be built right in Quingdao starting later in 2013. That's right, this calendar year. Also on the docket is a followup electric version of the 9-3, which is slated to come to market in 2014 in an effort to satiate China's wish that there be half a million EVs silently filling its streets within the next two years.
NEVS wants to be part of the EV solution, but it's not going to be easy. Naturally, if these cars are to be built in China, a factory has to be located or built, tooling needs to be in place, workers need to be hired and trained and a lengthy trail of paperwork has to be signed off by the government before even the well-known gasoline-powered 9-3 can be a reality, let along the unknown quantity that is the 9-3 ePower.
One-off 1997 Saab 900 EX prototype headed to auction
Sat, Sep 23 2023An obscure and fascinating part of Saab's history is looking for a new home. The one-off 1997 900 EX was built in Norway to celebrate the company's 50th birthday, and while it was not approved for production it shows what a sporty, 900-derived coupe could have looked like. British auction house Bonhams explains that Per Ekstrom, an auto body expert and enthusiast according to The Drive, worked closely with Saab and Norwegian road authorities to create the 900 EX. His goal wasn't merely to create an eye-catching coupe that's pretty to look at but impossible to drive; he wanted the model to be street-legal and drive like a regular-production car. The auction description notes that the 900 EX was built by experienced professionals with Saab's blessing and that the process required between 3,000 and 4,000 hours of work. The end result is stunning. While the headlights and the grille create a strong visual link between the EX and the second-generation 900, which enthusiasts often refer to as the GM900, the roof line has been lowered by nearly three inches and the body has been considerably widened thanks in part to 9000 CS-sourced front and rear wheel arches. We're told that the rear window comes from a 900 Cabriolet's soft top and that the hatch is a modified panel sourced from a standard 900, though pictures of the back end haven't been released as of writing. Bonhams describes the build quality as "exceptional" and says that the panel gaps are better than those seen on many modern cars. It adds that the red and gray paint (which is a tribute to the combination often seen on the 900 SPG) is original and "in close to perfect condition." The interior is largely standard 900 fare. There's wood trim, leather upholstery, a three-spoke steering wheel, and the big knobs and buttons that characterized Saab models for decades. The brand designed the switchgear so that it could be easily operated by someone wearing gloves. The odometer displays about 141,600 kilometers, which represents approximately 88,000 miles, though Bonhams pegs the engine's mileage at around 154,000 kilometers (roughly 95,600 miles). Most of the miles were reportedly added before engine ended up in the EX. Speaking of the engine, power comes from a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder sourced from Saab's regular-production parts bin and tuned to send 220 horsepower to the front wheels. It's bolted to a five-speed manual transmission.
