Greeting from TOM DONNEY MOTORS in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Hello from Fort Dodge Iowa!....Here is my All Wheel Drive (AWD) Saab 9-5 new generation,  2011 with the Cadillac V6.  It has Saab Fighter Jet “Heads Up Display” (HUD) too which is real fun! (no Nav)  Put your loved ones in the SAFEST ride on the road with AWD SAAB!! Super clean and “as new” with only 40,000 miles!!  Factory remote start.  I have the owners manual and both key FOBs.

It also has “lane departure warning” and “park assist” for locating a parking spot and it uses the front and rear sensors to show how close you are getting to objects too.

The interior is absolutely beautiful.  The leather is in new condition-no rips tears, wear spots-it is one of the cleanest cars we have owned.

It has the slap stick shifters for those who enjoy the 'manual' shifting ability.

It is bluetooth capable so you can pair it to your phone and has XM radio.

The  panaramic sunroof  extends into the back seat for the passengers in the back to enjoy also.

The front seats are heated and has the dual climate controls.  The tires are 18" and are about 40%.

I use to think the Saab 9000's had the most storage space but a recent loading of this new 9-5 with fold down rear seat backs only (the bottom cushion stays put and gives you all the space on the floor in the rear where passengers feet go) makes me think this is the new "Saab hauler".

As I always do with my Saab's I want you to be totally happy with this Saab.  If anything I say about the car is not right I will refund your deposit, no questions asked.  As some of you know I usually collect many (and sell only a few) vintage Saabs but every now and then I drive something a little more modern!

Feel free to call and talk to me if you prefer.  Thanks.....Tom Donney in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Junkyard Gem: 1986 Saab 900 Turbo

Fri, May 31 2019

The Saab 900 sold well in Colorado, and owners of these cars tend to hang onto them for decades. For those reasons, I still find 900s while making my rounds of the self-service wrecking yards in the Denver region. The turbocharged models tended to fail more quickly than their naturally-aspirated counterparts, though, so the 900 Turbo can be tough to find today. Here's a 1986 that took its final tow-truck ride into a Denver yard a couple of months back. The 900 received a makeover for the 1987 model year, so today's Junkyard Gem comes from the final year of the 900 with the endearingly 1960s face derived from its 99 predecessor. Most of these cars didn't chug along for quite as many miles as their Volvo 240 countrymen, but that may be attributable more to the differences in driving style between Volvo and Saab owners. The word TURBO had magical connotations during the 1980s, and so most turbocharged cars of the era boasted big, obvious badging. Red car interiors were all the rage during the 1980s and 1990s. Try to imagine the vivid bordellitude of this upholstery before it faded beneath the blazing Colorado sun. Was it a runner when it arrived here? We'll never know. Born from jets, sure, though the original Saab jet was known as "the Flying Barrel" and wasn't especially graceful-looking. Saab's latest Chinese owners facing their own credit woes

Sat, 16 Aug 2014

Poor Saab, it can't seem to get a break. General Motors couldn't seem to make a go of it, neither could Spyker, and now it seems that its latest owner is encountering some problems of its own.
That owner, of course, is National Electric Vehicle Sweden, a Swedish holding company owned by Chinese investors. NEVS recently restarted production at the Saab plant in Trollhättan, Sweden, and had some ambitious plans for the brand's revival, but it appears to have run out of cash.
This according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, which discovered that NEVS is having trouble paying its suppliers. One such supplier, called Labo Test, has reportedly been owed some $22,000 by NEVS since February, and without payment, petitioned the Swedish government to place NEVS into bankruptcy proceedings. If that seems a little extreme to you over twenty-two grand, it would seem the parties agree, as the petition has reportedly since been withdrawn.

Saab plant reopens, production to resume by year's end?

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Saab is gearing up to start production of the 9-3 again in September, two years after the last exampled rolled off the assembly line at the company's Trollhättan factory, Aftonbladet reports. Saab's new owner, National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB (NEVS), a Chinese-Japanese consortium created solely to buy Saab, says that the model's parts supply is the bottleneck in the production process, understandable since many of Saab's suppliers closed after it stopped production two years ago. The automaker also needs to establish a new dealership network. It is not entirely clear where Saab will market their new models, but North America is not expected to figure into their plans, at least initially.
Almost 400 factory employees are reportedly back working at Trollhättan, and Saab is looking to recruit 180 workers to help with production, presuming the factory can overcome its supply issues and go back online in the fall.
The new 9-3 is understood to be something short of an all-new car, a revision of the old 9-3 that started production in 2002. It will reportedly be offered initially as a four-door sedan and two-door convertible, and it will have a turbocharged engine, according to NEVS, which we expect will be a four cylinder. An electric 9-3 could come as early as next year. Turbocharged engines are part of Saab's DNA, NEVS Vice President Mattias Bergman has stated, and future Saab models will have them - despite the automaker's planned progression toward electric vehicles. The 9-3 will get small facelifts over time, says Mikael Östlund, a press officer at NEVS.
