This is a 2001 Saab 9-5 wagon. It has approximately 133,000 miles on it. I am the second owner of the car. The original owner was an elderly couple. They had it serviced at the dealer since it was new and kept service records. Records include routine oil changes (especially important for this particular engine), service based on factory recommendations, etc... It also had a brand new turbocharger installed less than 20,000 miles ago, at the dealership. That was several thousand dollars, and I have the receipt. They traded it in this past winter for a Cadillac, and I bought the car from the salesman who originally sold the car...he still works the dealer. I have had it since February. It has been my daily driver since I got it. The only reason I am selling it now is that at the end of July, a dealership made me an offer for a new car that I just couldn't refuse. Otherwise, I'd have kept it.
The car runs and drives very well. It shows that it has been well kept. There are no check engine lights on. The interior is extremely clean, the leather is in great shape for its' age. The only sign of wear is fading on the drivers side bolster where you slide in. But there are no rips or tears at all in the leather. Dash is outstanding.
It runs and drives great, but please understand it is 12, nearly 13, years old. The a/c does not work. I'm not sure why. It has a charge in it, I checked. I found that a fuse under the hood had been pulled. I put a new fuse in. The a/c then worked for 5 minutes, then stopped. The fuse didn't blow, but I'm not sure what the problem is. Relay perhaps? There must be something wrong with the factory alarm, because when you start the car, the display says "Service alarm", but I just press the "clear" button and turn the warning off. I'm guessing the battery is dead. One of the headlight wipers is disconnected, I presume it doesn't work, but never cared to check.
The car has the 2.3L engine, and it has been checked/cleaned for the common sludge issues these engines have (I have that receipt). Heated seats, both front and rear. Sunroof, power everything. I have the original window sticker. It is inspected through March 2014.
Please no trades, I have enough cars. I will answer any questions you have. I reserve to end the auction early, as the car is for sale locally.

Koenigsegg plans a ‘CO2 neutral’ hybrid supercar
Fri, Feb 1 2019Fresh from receiving a 150 million-euro infusion from National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the Chinese-backed company that bought up Saab's assets out of bankruptcy, supercar maker Koenigsegg has signaled just what it plans to do under the new joint venture. Christian von Koenigsegg gave an interview to Top Gear in which he said he wants to develop an all-new supercar to sit below ultra-exclusive models like the Agera RS and Regera, priced at around ˆ1 million (about $1.15 million) to grow sales from 20 a year into the hundreds, because "our brand has outgrown our production volumes by quite a big margin." And it will feature a novel, "completely CO2 neutral" hybrid powrtrain using the "freevalve" camless combustion engine technology the company has been developing in concert with battery-electric power. "Given the freevalve technology, we can actually cold-start the car on pure alcohol, down to -30 degrees Celsius, so there's no need for any fossil fuel mix then," he told Top Gear. "The idea is to prove to the world that even a combustion engine can be completely CO2 neutral." Von Koenigsegg previously hinted at the setup after talking about how his engineers were responding to Tesla's claims that its forthcoming next-generation Roadster would be capable of a 1.9-second 0-60 mph time. He further hints that the new hybridized supercar will look unmistakably like a Keonigsegg but be in a different segment altogether from either the Agera RS or plug-in hybrid Regera. Consider us very much intrigued and eager to hear more. Meanwhile, Koenigsegg has said it plans to reveal the successor to the Agera RS next month at the Geneva Motor Show based on a refined version of the same supercharged V8 combustion engine. The new joint venture with NEVS, meanwhile, sees that company take a 65 percent ownership stake, with Koenigsegg holding the rest and contributing its trove of intellectual property, technology licenses and product design. NEVS also gets a 20 percent stake in Koenigsegg itself. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Saab 9-3 production to start in China in 2013 [UPDATE]
Thu, 17 Jan 2013We knew that National Electric Vehicle Sweden planned to restart production of the last-gen Saab 9-3 at some point in the future, we just didn't know exactly when, or exactly where. As it turns out, the answers to those questions are soon, and China.
Though NEVS had initially said it will build vehicles in Sweden before shipping them to China, the latest report from Autocar suggests that the cars will instead be built right in Quingdao starting later in 2013. That's right, this calendar year. Also on the docket is a followup electric version of the 9-3, which is slated to come to market in 2014 in an effort to satiate China's wish that there be half a million EVs silently filling its streets within the next two years.
NEVS wants to be part of the EV solution, but it's not going to be easy. Naturally, if these cars are to be built in China, a factory has to be located or built, tooling needs to be in place, workers need to be hired and trained and a lengthy trail of paperwork has to be signed off by the government before even the well-known gasoline-powered 9-3 can be a reality, let along the unknown quantity that is the 9-3 ePower.
Saab 900 SPG is the latest Petrolicious love story
Thu, 03 Oct 2013The latest video from the crew at Petrolicious covers one funky Swede - a 1989 Saab 900 SPG. Produced from 1978 to 1998, the 900 enjoyed a long history, and thanks to its iconic look, it's quickly becoming a modern classic for the off-kilter car enthusiast. The SPG, short for Special Performance Group, makes this a particularly rare find, with owner Jordan Melville saying, "I didn't even realize what I had at the time."
Melville gives a rundown of his life with the 900 and his passion for Saab overall, even reflecting on that dark day that saw the Swedish brand closed its doors. As always, the videography is excellent and the story is intriguing in this latest video from Petrolicious. You can view the entire video down below.
