We understand that buying a vehicle online can sometimes leave you un-easy. We are aware that there are other dealers online that do not fully describe the vehicles listed. They might leave important information out, or not have a thorough description of that item. Our goal is simple. We aim to be honest and fair with all of our deals. Word of mouth and return business is something we take very serious! We achieve this by providing you with all of the information YOU need to make a comfortable decision, and hopefully proceeding to your investment, a vehicle! We strive for A+ satisfaction. We do not want to waste anyone’s time, and definitely don’t want to mislead you. This is why we inform you of EVERYTHING we know, and provide you with detailed descriptions and conditions of the item for sale. Business is expanding, explaining the new eBay account. Up for NO RESERVE is a 2001 SAAB 9-5 wagon! IGNORE WHAT YOU HAVE HEARD ABOUT SAAB, just do your own research or ask me anything, I will give you my honest opinion about everything. This German assembled, turbo'd gas saver will receive the best MPG! Why sacrifice room for passengers when you can get this safe, reliable wagon. SAAB has proven to be very safe, reliable and unbreakable. If you maintain this vehicle properly it will last you forever. INTERIOR: THE REAR SEATS ARE HEATED! I would not have the color scheme any other way! The black interior looks and smells like it is still new. I have not seen any blemishes or stains and there are very light signs of wear. The windows work properly and the radio sounds great with speakers everywhere. On a cold wet day the heat works fast and hot. This seems to be a non-smoker. In my opinion this interior needs nothing. There are so many neat things this car can do. The car shows like it is a couple years old with half the millage. Every button/knob works as it should. Usually when I get a SAAB, its either perfect with nothing wrong, or its beat up and needs a lot of work or reconditioning. This one is in excellent shape! Nothing needs to be attended to or serviced. The owners of these types of cars are usually very meticulous about their cars, and this is one! EXTERIOR: The body is in great shape also. There are a very few, very light scratches or scuffs shown close up in the pictures; this is nothing that needs to be attended to and it will not rust anytime. The tires are in good shape also. The rear hatch works great and lifts with ease. The doors shut nice and latch quietly. MOTOR/HANDLING: The beautiful 9-5 starts right up and idles great with no hesitation. The car goes right into gear with no thump and there is no hesitation with any transition between gears or reversing. The winter mode is perfect for the snow and ice, you can feel the torque and the car stays at low rpm's so you wont spin. The transition feels smooth and easy. The acceleration was responsive and peppy. In sport mode (just the push of a button) the gears shift very fast and the car takes off. The turbo picks up like a dream, and the boost gauge moves so fast. Within seconds you are at 60 mph. The gears feel so rapid when it downshifts. The brakes have balanced pressure and stop the car with ease with no wobbling. This wagon feels smooth and takes turns like a champ! This car hits the road very nice and likes to grip it hard. This car gives a welcoming impression and feels very safe. With low miles on it you know this car can reach 300k with routine maintenance and still go! There is plenty of room for you on this vehicle! Basically this is a great car that is famous for safety (the first to earn the highest side impact rating) and reliability, because of that people sell these for a lot of money, and they know they will get it. This is a great second car for anyone, family or not. This wagon would also be a great first car for your young ones starting out (so you wont have to worry as much). Maybe you want better fuel economy, or more room? With this SAAB 9-5 wagon, you have everything you need, MPG, cargo room, passenger room, reliability, safety, and style. The millage is just right! All of this is just a bid away! If this is what you are looking for, be glad you are looking at this one because your search is now over. Don't second guess yourself, just get it! I am accepting reasonable offers, feel free to message me! Thank you for looking. Happy bidding! Vampire Weekend singer responds to burning Saab controversy [w/video]
Fri, 29 Mar 2013Last week, we tipped you off about Vampire Weekend and their new music video for the song Diane Young, a short film that consists entirely of setting fire to two perfectly nice-looking Saab 900 automobiles. The indie rock band's video - viewable by scrolling down - predictably triggered the internet ire of classic car enthusiasts - Saabophiles in particular - and word of the unrest eventually got back to the band itself.
According to music site Spinner (nb: owned by Autoblog parent AOL), the group was "stunned" at the backlash - enough that lead singer Ezra Koenig felt compelled to respond himself. According to Koenig, the band was under the impression that their record company was "looking to purchase the cheapest, oldest cars possible; they weren't trying to buy a beautiful perfect condition car." By way of apology, Koenig even goes so far as to note that bandmate Rostam Batmanglij is a keen fan of Saab.
Other reports have claimed that the cars may have been purchased under false pretenses, sold by owners who "wanted to see them go to a nice new home," but Koenig takes issue with that characterization, countering that he understood that the cars had substantial electrical problems.
Junkyard Gem: 1983 Saab 900 Turbo 4-Door Hatchback
Sun, Mar 20 2022I've been finding quite a few interesting Saabs in Colorado car graveyards lately, including a 96 and a 99 (sadly, a discarded example of a Saab 92 has eluded me — at least in the United States — so far), and now it's the turn of the factory-hot-rod Saab that gave car shoppers more horsepower per dollar than anything they could buy from Germany at the time: the 900 Turbo. I found this car a few weeks back in a yard just south of Denver. Saab sold the original version of the 900 in the United States for the 1979 through 1993 model years (after that, the 900 name went on a car based on the Opel Vectra and closely related to the Saturn L-Series), and the early 900s looked very much like their 99 ancestors. Saab was an early adopter of turbocharging, and so the 900 Turbo was available here for the entire 1979-1993 sales run. This engine, a 2-liter slant-four derived from a 1960s Triumph design (and first cousin to the engine used in the Triumph TR7), was rated at 135 horsepower in 1983. That was big power for a small car in the Late Malaise Era, and it gave the 1983 Saab 900 Turbo a power-to-weight ratio similar to what you got in the Mitsubishi Starion and Porsche 944 that year. Electronic fuel injection finally made turbocharging work well for everyday driving (though the Maserati Biturbo stuck with blow-throw Weber carburetors all the way through 1986 in the United States), and it wasn't long before TURBO became a magical word. Yes, by 1984 you had Ozone and Turbo break-dancing while Ice-T makes his film debut. A few years earlier, with the (carbureted) Turbo Trans Am's not-so-stellar reliability on display, Boogaloo Shrimp's character would have been assigned a different name. Though it's possible, based on the fact that at least one 1980s boombox was built from a Saab 900 dash, that Turbo's name was inspired by Saab. Saab should get credit for doing so much to push turbocharging into the daily-driver mainstream. You could get a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission in your new 1983 Saab 900, but it added 370 bucks (about $1,075 in 2022 dollars) to the cost of the car and made it much less fun to drive. This one has the 5-speed manual; I assume the E next to fifth gear stands for "efficiency." The five-door 900 Turbo listed at $16,910 with five-speed manual, which comes to about $49,055 today. A new BMW 528e cost $23,985 that year ($69,580 now) and offered just 121 horsepower.
Dealership refunds student for broken Saab with bags of pennies
Fri, Jul 25 2014Every so often, we come across the story of someone trying to "stick it to the man" by paying a parking fine or speeding ticket in pennies or dimes. Never, though, have we heard of a business stooping to such cliched lengths. Enter Florida. Irena Mujakovic bought a 2003 Saab way back in January from Holiday Motors, in Jacksonville, FL. Shortly after the purchase, the transmission started acting up. She returned to the dealer and paid for the repair, and purchased a warranty for future issues. Total cost: $300. But then the trans crapped out not long after the initial repair, and Mujakovic was back at Holiday Motors. This is where things start going south. This second trip cost Mujakovic $400, with her warranty in hand. That's because the man that runs the dealer, Ed Di Miranda, neglected to mention that the warranty didn't cover labor costs. "The warranty did not cover labor and I failed to write that in and that was her loophole," Di Miranda told First Coast News. The young college student filed a complaint with the Florida DMV, who sided with her and ordered Holiday Motors to refund the money. Di Miranda and the dealership did just that, but when Mujakovic came to collect her refund, it was to a bag of pennies, with a few dollar bills sprinkled in for good measure. Di Miranda, doesn't seem to think he's done anything wrong, claiming that only about $85 was in change, while the rest was paper money. "I am doing what DMV asked me to do," Di Miranda said. "It is legal tender." Mujakovic has not collected her refund. Have a look below for the video news report. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences.
