Sunroof 2.0 Sport Rare Red Saab Turbo Loaded Sedan Four Door on 2040-cars
Elkhart, Indiana, United States
2003 Saab 9-3 Linear 2.0T Sport Edition Sport Red (rare color for this make/model) Clean Title 126,9xx miles Four Door; Automatic Transmission; Turbo Charged (Gas-saver) Gray Leather/Heated Seats Premium Sound system; CD Player/Radio with Ipod/Iphone hook up Premium Sport Edition Saab Alloy Wheels (17's) Great Tires Power windows/locks Power Driver's seat Traction Control Cruise Control White/Light Blue Xenon Headlights Fog Lights Dual Climate Control A/C Ice Cold Heat works great New Brakes Regularly Serviced Newer Battery Attention all car enthusiasts. This Saab is a rare find. This car is super clean, inside and out (the leather literally looks brand new), and has also been meticulously maintained, and stored only in a garage. This is the ultimate winter and summer car that has a ton of life left! These cars are known to go over $300,000 miles. We are getting rid of it because of our growing family (and the need for a larger vehicle which we have already purchased). The 2.0 liter turbo charged engine gives plenty of power (shifts nicely) with excellent gas mileage (over 30 MPG on the highway). Because of how clean this car is along with the classic sport body style, people don't believe this car is a 2003. 126,9xx miles (lot of highway miles). No signs of rust! We don't regret choosing this car over a BMW or Audi. And you won't either. Great trunk space! You won't find a better looking, more reliable (and practical) car for under $5,500. We are asking only $5,499 because this car has a few VERY minor issues (nothing major). The gas gauge does not work. We paid a certified mechanic to diagnose this issue (who said repairing this will cost a few hundred dollars) but we never fixed it because we fill up the gas tank each Monday regardless. The other very minor issue is that this car needs a new 02 sensor (or needs the current one cleaned). One more thing: separate from the car I am selling an extra set of 15 inch Saab alloy Wheels with Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires (lots of tread left) for the winter time. These tires are amazing on snow/ice! Asking $325.00 for the full set of wheels/tires. Serious buyers only please. Do not send me low ball offers. This is a great deal for a rare car that is in exceptional condition. ***You can email, call or text. Motorweek looks back at 1983 Saab 900S
Tue, Aug 4 2015These days, Saab is a zombie marque. Technically, the brand is still shambling around under the ownership of National Electric Vehicle Sweden, and there are continued promises of an electric version of the 9-3. However, we all suspect that the company is never really coming back, at least not as the quirky Swedish brand of the past. That's what makes watching this latest Retro Review of John Davis and the Motorweek crew driving a non-turbo 1983 Saab 900S so special. This is a great chance to see Saab still alive and kicking. While not one of the more famous turbocharged examples, the naturally aspirated 900S is still a quintessential Saab in every other way. The reviewers definitely aren't sold on the looks though, and there are plenty of jokes at its expense. Although, only paying attention to the polarizing exterior styling makes missing the good handling and immense interior utility easy. Sadly, without the aid of forced induction, the 900 offers very lackadaisical acceleration. According to this clip, the sprint to 60 miles per hour is more of jog in a leisurely 12.2 seconds. At the brand's best, Saab provided the motoring world with an alternative. If you didn't want just another boxy sedan, the brand offered something like nothing else on the road. Plus, drivers found a well-tuned turbocharged engine that provided good performance for the day. It's a company worth remembering, despite the current state of things.
Saab 9-3 production has restarted
Sun, 01 Dec 2013If you're one of the small cadre of Saab drivers, first of all, kudos to you. Because as Top Gear pointed out, Saab drivers are among the most intellectual drivers out there. Secondly, we've got good news for you, because the 9-3 has officially resumed production at the Trollhättan plant in Sweden.
For those of you who may not have followed the story, a quick refresher: Founded in 1947, Saab Automobile AB was an independent automaker until 1989 when General Motors began the decade-long process acquiring it. Unable to make it profitable, GM sold Saab to Spyker in 2010, but that Dutch automaker proved unable to make a go of it, either, and finally shut it down a year later. Much of Saab's assets were acquired by National Electric Vehicle Sweden, which in turn is partially owned by the Chinese city of Qingdao, which pledged to get production back online by the end of the year.
NEVS has apparently made good on its promise, bringing 600 workers back to the factory to resume production of the 9-3 much as it was when a workforce of 3,500 labored on it and its stablemates prior to the bankruptcy. The reborn 9-3 will be sold in Sweden and in China, with an electric version to bring some other updates sometime next year.
Rare 9-5 SportCombi, 9-4X models being sold off in Saab asset auction
Mon, 03 Dec 2012Saab lovers take notice. Swedish auction house KVD has some ultra rare Saab products on the block, and we're not talking about a 1950s Saab 92. Up for auction are a bunch of low-mileage Saab models being sold off as part of the bankrupted automaker's assets. Included in the lot of cars are models like the 2012 9-5 SportCombi (above), the 2012 9-4X (shown below) and even a 9-5 sedan driven by Victor Muller himself.
Discovered by PistonHeads, this Saab auction has numerous 9-5 SportCombi and 9-4X models, which should prove to be very rare cars. Only a small number of 9-4Xs were ever sold, and Saab closed up shop before the 9-5 SportCombi could even go on sale here. In addition to the rarity, many of the cars have fewer than 10 miles on their odometers and seemingly low reserve prices; a 9-4X 3.0 XWD Premium with just six miles has a current bid of 180,000 Swedish Krona (just over $27,000 USD) that has already met the reserve price. Some of the cars still have the protective factory shipping tape covering up the interior and exterior.
Other than the rare SportCombis and 9-4Xs being auctioned off, there's also a sharp 2012 9-3 Cabriolet with 11 miles on the clock and a V8-powered 2006 Saab 9-7X with just 3,003 miles.
