Super nice condition hard to find in this combination. Top of the line Aero version if you know anything about Saab's. Best color (Shiny Laser Red), no clear coat issues, with a most desirable 6 speed manual transmission (automatics are not the greatest on these cars, I had one) . 4 cylinder SAAB engine unlike the newer 6 cylinder engine which is made by GM found in 2006 and up. Economical with great gas mileage yet very powerful and performance oriented. Great condition with recent brakes, tires oil change, coolant flush, new coolant bottle, headlights refinished, recent convertible top done. Upgraded wheel finish and front lip spoiler and lots more that I cant remember at this time. The car is an absolute pleasure to drive. Transmission and clutch are perfect. Very clean car in and out and attracts attention. New wiper blades. Four wheel alignment with castor kit installed in front. Motorized Bi-xenon headlights work perfectly.Every thing works like it should. Ice cold ac. No warning lights, check engine, airbag....etc on dash or any other issues. If you are not happy with the wheels color or front lip you can remove it very easily since it is a material called Plast dip that can be removed easily and harmlessly with your fingers and without damaging the paint underneath it. New badges front and back. Very clean car. You will be happy you bought it. I am only selling it for financial reasons as I have too many cars and could use the space and cash for other reasons. Please do not mistake this car for one cheap or salvage or beat up Saab's that are showing up every where. No rust issues or damage. Clean NMVITAS history report which is better and more accurate than car fax and other services. NO ACCIDENTS OR TITLE ISSUES.
Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. I will assist in arrangement as much as I can. Due to vehicle's age and mileage it is sold with no explicit or implied warranty.
Please no low ballers or scammers. Only serious buyers. Ask questions before you bid. I will do my best to answer all questions that are serious and I have not addressed here.
I am the rightful owner for this vehicle and only advertising it on Ebay and locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please watch out for scammers.
SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE.
Good Luck
p.s. Upgrades are purely cosmetic and easily reversible. Vehicle is completely stock mechanically and suspension wise.

Saab 900 SPG is the latest Petrolicious love story
Thu, 03 Oct 2013The latest video from the crew at Petrolicious covers one funky Swede - a 1989 Saab 900 SPG. Produced from 1978 to 1998, the 900 enjoyed a long history, and thanks to its iconic look, it's quickly becoming a modern classic for the off-kilter car enthusiast. The SPG, short for Special Performance Group, makes this a particularly rare find, with owner Jordan Melville saying, "I didn't even realize what I had at the time."
Melville gives a rundown of his life with the 900 and his passion for Saab overall, even reflecting on that dark day that saw the Swedish brand closed its doors. As always, the videography is excellent and the story is intriguing in this latest video from Petrolicious. You can view the entire video down below.
Junkyard Gem: 1989 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible
Fri, Oct 14 2022I live in Colorado, where Saabs were loved deeply by residents going way back to the 96 (and I'm sure a few 92s were sold here in the 1950s, though I haven't found any in local car graveyards … yet). By far the easiest pre-GM Trollhattanites to find in Centennial State wrecking yards these days are the 1978-1993 900s, and I walk by a half-dozen for each one that I document as a Junkyard Gem. We admired a gloriously brown 900 Turbo two-door a few months back, but today's 900 Turbo is an extremely rare cabriolet version, the first I've found in a boneyard in at least 15 years. The convertible 900 was available only as a turbocharged version in the United States when it was introduced for the 1986 model year, and that continued through 1991. After that, a naturally-aspirated 900 convertible could be bought here. When in very nice condition, these cars can bring tidy sums. A super-low-mile '87 900 Turbo convertible just sold for $145,000 recently, in fact. This car has more than 843 times as many miles on the odometer as that car, however, and it shows every one of them. It's not terribly rusty, considering, but the sheet metal shows many battle scars, and the interior is about what you'd expect with 33-year-old leather. Last year's film adaptation of Haruki Murakami's short story, "Drive My Car," put the Saab 900 Turbo back into mainstream cultural awareness. However, that car is a two-door sedan; the best-known Saab 900 Turbo Convertible in cinema history is the one driven by Iben Hjelje's character in the film adaptation of the Nick Hornby novel, "High Fidelity." These cars were fairly quick for their time, with 160 horsepower from this DOHC 2.0-liter straight-four in 1989. Having seen more than my share of 900 Turbos going up against same-era BMW E30s and Acura Integras on road courses, I'd put my money on the Saab in a wheel-to-wheel race (that is, in a race short enough to keep the Swede's nervous engine alive). While a three-speed automatic was available on this car, the kind of Americans odd enough to buy Saabs in 1989 also tended to be the type that wanted manual transmissions. In fact, I can't recall ever seeing a (non-Opel-based) 900 with a slushbox. Yes, Opel! Starting in the 1994 model year, the 900 name went on a car based on the Opel Vectra platform. Later on, the Saab 9-5 and Saturn L-Series lived on the same chassis. Given all the luxury features and genuine performance, this car was a pretty good value for the price in 1989.
Saab still alive and well at New Jersey dealership
Mon, Dec 29 2014We all know the Saab story: a niche automaker that just couldn't last in the quickening pace of an increasingly competitive industry, despite its loyal following. But just because the automaker has all but completely disappeared, it doesn't mean that the loyal following has as well. In fact Saab Automobiles Parts North America estimates there are some 450,000 Saabs still in use in the United States, and many of them are still die-hard brand faithful who are adamantly clinging to the bankrupt brand they love. And many of those loyal customers are still finding a home at Park Avenue Saab in Maywood, NJ. Although the Park Avenue Auto Group operates Acura, BMW and Lotus franchises, it hasn't given up on Saab just because the company isn't making any new cars anymore. Instead it's set up shop in an old Suzuki showroom and is building a growing list of Saab customers across New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania – parts of that list acquired from other, closed Saab dealers in the region. The dealership stocks spare parts and is ready to perform whatever service and maintenance existing Saab owners might need, but it's also still buying and selling Saabs: used models with low mileage and manufactured as close as possible to the end of production in 2011. So when an owner of an old Saab is ready to trade up, the dealership has something to offer. And many of those loyal customers, according to Automotive News, are willing to pay top dollar rather than switch to another brand. If and when a Saab owner needs to buy something newer – as most will have to – the dealer is ready to introduce them to a new Acura or BMW, but to date, very few have. That's why Park Avenue Saab still sells about 40 used Saabs every month to customers in the vicinity, across the country or even overseas. Between the sales and service departments, the dealership is still turning a brisk business, but unless NEVS, Mahindra or some other knight in shining armor swoops in and manages to do what GM and Spyker couldn't, the dealership's management know the business can't last forever.
