We can't get enough of these dream car-reveals. Here's the latest one: A son wanted to treat his mom to the car she's had her eye on for years, but it wasn't a restored Porsche or a fancy 1957 Chevy Bel Air. This mom wanted something special – a 1973 Saab 99 EMS painted disco-fever copper. Ever since he was a kid, Corey Wadden's mom has wanted the Saab. Wadden writes on his YouTube video that she first hopped in the driver's seat of one of these odd retro rides while working as a cleaning lady. One of her clients would toss her the keys and let her move the car. She fell in love. After a year of searching and saving, this nominee for best son in the world brought his mom down to the parking lot, where her dream ride awaited. First, he handed her an envelope with a picture of the car and the keys, a dead giveaway. She quickly put two and two together, and lost it before making it to the parking lot. She is so happy and full of gratitude that she actually drops to her knees when he opens the door. Wadden writes on his page that his mom lost her job two-and-a-half years ago and hasn't had a reliable car in years. This car aims not just to get her mobile again, but lift her spirits. Often, it feels like the news is just a never-ending stream of one depressing headline after another. It can be so liberating to see something positive and uplifting every once in a while. Just look at the ecstatic expression on this mother's face after receiving her dream car from her son. Mom has some seriously quirky taste too: she isn't after a muscle car or a two-seat droptop; instead, it's a 1973 Saab 99 EMS in a very '70s shade of copper at the top of her wish list. According to the video, it took her son about a year to track down this hunk of Swedish steel and save up the money to purchase it. Though, judging from his mom's reaction, it was worth every penny. She puts together what's going on with the Saab pretty quickly and immediately starts swearing at her son – out of love, of course. If you're feeling a little blue, consider this a much-needed pick-me-up. Watching the unbridled joy of someone getting something that they always wanted just feels wonderful.

Saab-powered Ford is the most unlikely drift car we've seen

Yes, you read that headline correctly. It's supposed to be a Saab-powered Ford, and not the other way around (although we fully support the notion of a Sonnet with a Flathead V8). Apparently, some lunatic in the UK took an ass-less 1953 Ford Anglia, paired it with a turbocharged Saab engine, and tuned the entire thing to go drifting. We like it. Called Urchfab, it's the subject of Carfection's (the blokes formerly known as XCar) latest video. Aside from looking like an extra from the British version of Mad Max, it has a problem with grip, in that there's just too much of it. This car is a fabber's dream, as we get to see its unnamed owner fashion new bits and bobs for the suspension before having an unfortunate encounter with a wall at Castle Combe.
