2006 Saab 9-3 2.0 Turbo. Automatic transmission. This is a Flood Title vehicle. The repair was done years ago by a reputable dealer. I'm not sure how extensive the repair was but the previous owner had no issues and was happy with the car. I've also enjoyed the car and I haven't been able to find any residual effects of water damage. The under carriage is beautiful, no rust.

With that said, the car is a great looking car, clean and quick. Feels solid and goes down the road nicely. 4 matching Tires are in great shape, it does have a slight shimmy at high highways speeds, not too bad but it's there. The body looks good and shines nicely. The paint has normal nicks and scuffs consistent with the age and mileage. The drivers side rear door is damaged and can be seen in the pictures, although the damage doesn't stand out and can often be overlooked. The interior is Tan leather which is in good shape except the drivers seat shows some wear. I have two new seat covers that come with the car. The trim around the drivers seats needs some attention, it appears to need to be re-attached. It stays on just not tightly. Some of the black trim on a few bezel pieces has peeled off, apparently a common issue.

Otherwise the interior is nice and very comfortable. So overall a clean nice driveable car, It's been a daily driver. Looks good and has been dependable but it does need some attention. Needs a state inspection, the right side headlight needs repair, it works but doesn't turn off and the passenger side power window doesn't always work and the auto climate control at times doesn't stay set. These are issues I lived with since they didn't bother me much until I needed the inspection. I took the car to the dealer, they said it needs a CIM module to repair each issue, the window, the light and heater. They said the CIM is a weak part on the 9-3 and controls all of the electrical and should fix all of those problems. The quoted me $500-700 to repair and after that the car is 100% inspectable. I've decided to upgrade to a new car so this one must go. A nice car and if your handy you can have a great car for the price. Pick up in Shavertown PA. $200 Paypal deposit due at the auction end. Cash balance due within 7 days.

Vampire Weekend burns for Saab

Thu, 21 Mar 2013

Or is it the other way around?
Could Vampire Weekend be trying to tell me something? A just-launched music video for the indie rock band's new single Diane Young features what looks like a pretty mint black Saab 900 Turbo Convertible being torched in slow-motion. In fact, with the exception of a brief, flickering cameo by a 900 three-door of a similar vintage, that's all that there is to the nearly three-minute long video. It's both sad and oddly beautiful.
Coincidentally, I have a similar-looking turbocharged black Saab convertible sitting in my garage, and I've been reluctantly pondering its sale this very week. Admittedly, mine is a later model (2001 9-3 Viggen), but tri-spokes and more tapered rump aside, it looks eerily identical. And while mine isn't mired in flames (I love it too much to torch it), through no fault of its own, it's been sitting motionless far too regularly. Thankfully, I see a better future for it than the droptop seen above.

NEVS Sango autonomous shuttle rises from the ashes of Saab

Sat, Jul 4 2020

National Electric Vehicles Sweden (NEVS), the company that purchased Saab's bankrupt carcass in 2012, has introduced an autonomous ride-sharing shuttle named Sango and announced plans to test it in real-world conditions. It also outlined a system named PONS that will allow operators and riders to connect with the shuttle. Saab famously claimed its cars were born from jets, but the Sango looks more like something you'd find in a store that sells small kitchen appliances than on an aircraft carrier sailing across the Atlantic. It wasn't designed to go fast, or to deliver engaging handling. Stylists intentionally gave it a boxy silhouette to maximize interior space and let operators offer three cabin configurations called private, social, and family, respectively. Its six seats can be moved around and rotated as needed, and the passengers can raise privacy walls if they don't feel like socializing with fellow riders. The shuttle's seating capacity drops to four with the walls raised. Chinese technology firm AutoX provided the Sango's self-driving hardware and software, though NEVS pointed out its shuttle is modular enough to use any autonomous system on the market. This is a wise strategy that widens its target audience. Operators will in theory be able to choose whether they want to purchase a turn-key self-driving shuttle or buy the basic structure and stuff their own technology into it. NEVS grouped the app customers will use to request a ride and a fleet management system into a software package it named PONS. Technical specifications haven't been released. All we know is that it's electric. NEVS confidently stated autonomous shuttles are closer to the mainstream than many think. "Getting from A to B with self-driving electric vehicles is not as far off as perhaps the car industry is implying. The era of one person per car and the era of owning a car are soon things of the past," opined Anna Haupt, the company's vice president of mobility solutions, in a statement. Engineers have started testing the first running Sango prototype at NEVS' headquarters in Trollhattan, Sweden. Looking ahead, the company plans to deploy a fleet of 10 autonomous shuttles in Stockholm, where they will be used by members of the general public. Autoblog learned from a company representative that testing will probably start in 2022, and that the firm is taking COVID-19-related concerns into account.

Spyker to appeal dismissal of Saab lawsuit against GM

Fri, 21 Jun 2013

It seems as if Spyker CEO Victor Muller has made a decision on whether or not to pursue a legal battle between his company and General Motors. Spyker has announced it will appeal a US District Court decision to throw out the company's lawsuit against GM. As you may recall, on June 10 Judge Gershwin Drain ruled tht GM had a right to approve or disapprove Spyker's sale of Saab to Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile. Spyker sued GM for some $3 billion, claiming that the American automaker had forced Saab into bankruptcy by stopping Spyker from transferring intellectual property to its Chinese partner.
Spyker has said only that it plans to appeal the decision. Until now, the company has been silent about the ruling. GM, meanwhile, has said it is pleased with the original outcome. You can read the quick Spyker press release below for more information.
