Lexington, Kentucky, United States
So your looking for low mileage luxury convertible thats reliable, economical, seats 4 people and well under $10,000? Well it does not get much better than this. 2002 Saab 9-3 SE convertible with 58700 original miles. Beautiful Cosmic blue with Sand Beige leather. 2 non smoking owner, clean Carfax and in immaculate condition. The car has been inspected and thoroughly
serviced by our service department and is in perfect mechanical condition. Less than 100 miles on brand new tires, new battery, new brake rotors and pads. Every function of the car is in perfect working order. The power top functions perfectly and shows virtually no wear. There are zero fluid leaks of any kind. The paint shines like new
with no fading anywhere. There are no squeaks, rattles, or otherwise unusual noises. If you've been shopping in the 7 to 8000 dollar range for any time at all, I'm sure you have seen your fair share of high mileage clunkers. Because Saab is no longer in production, the prices have been virtually cut in half and are one of those extreme values, that dont come along very often. Savvy car buyers are snatching these up and they are getting much much harder to find in the right condition with very low miles.
Who we are: We, The Auto Gallery, have been a fully licensed dealer and full service repair facility in Kentucky for 27 years. I very rarely put cars on Ebay, so I am using my personal account to do so. We are A+ rated by the BBB and in fact, have never in our history, had to respond to a BBB complaint. Not one, not ever. Please folks, if you have any questions ASK. You might not like what I have to say but it will be the truth. Inspections: At the Auto Gallery, we HIGHLY recommend anyone looking to purchase ANY used car from ANYBODY, to get it inspected before hand. Having been in the service business for 27 years I have witnessed horror stories that would make Chuck Norris cry like a baby. I have seen cars that not only will break your wallet, they will break your spirit. Please folks, know what you are buying!! We feel so strongly about this, that we instituted this policy a long time ago. Any person looking to purchase a car from The Auto Gallery is encouraged to get an independent inspection. If the car does not pass for some serious mechanical problem and the person decides to not buy the car, we will give that person $75 towards the cost of their inspection fee. If the car passes and you buy the car, you pay the inspection fee. Cant get any more fair than that. The fine print: Car is available locally so auction will be ended if another buyer steps up before auction end. Payment accepted is cash on delivery or wire transfer. Upon payment, you will receive
clean and clear title and a 45 day temporary tag. We do not charge bogus
"documentation fees" like some do. I do not require a deposit at
auction end, however the winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours to
arrange pick up and payment. If they do not, I will assume they were not serious and I will cancel the sale. Vehicle is to be paid for withing
7 days regardless of being able to be physically present. Longer than 7 days I do not charge
storage. I will assist in any way possible
with transport. We are 5 minutes from the airport. |

Junkyard Gem: 1983 Saab 900 Turbo 4-Door Hatchback
Sun, Mar 20 2022I've been finding quite a few interesting Saabs in Colorado car graveyards lately, including a 96 and a 99 (sadly, a discarded example of a Saab 92 has eluded me — at least in the United States — so far), and now it's the turn of the factory-hot-rod Saab that gave car shoppers more horsepower per dollar than anything they could buy from Germany at the time: the 900 Turbo. I found this car a few weeks back in a yard just south of Denver. Saab sold the original version of the 900 in the United States for the 1979 through 1993 model years (after that, the 900 name went on a car based on the Opel Vectra and closely related to the Saturn L-Series), and the early 900s looked very much like their 99 ancestors. Saab was an early adopter of turbocharging, and so the 900 Turbo was available here for the entire 1979-1993 sales run. This engine, a 2-liter slant-four derived from a 1960s Triumph design (and first cousin to the engine used in the Triumph TR7), was rated at 135 horsepower in 1983. That was big power for a small car in the Late Malaise Era, and it gave the 1983 Saab 900 Turbo a power-to-weight ratio similar to what you got in the Mitsubishi Starion and Porsche 944 that year. Electronic fuel injection finally made turbocharging work well for everyday driving (though the Maserati Biturbo stuck with blow-throw Weber carburetors all the way through 1986 in the United States), and it wasn't long before TURBO became a magical word. Yes, by 1984 you had Ozone and Turbo break-dancing while Ice-T makes his film debut. A few years earlier, with the (carbureted) Turbo Trans Am's not-so-stellar reliability on display, Boogaloo Shrimp's character would have been assigned a different name. Though it's possible, based on the fact that at least one 1980s boombox was built from a Saab 900 dash, that Turbo's name was inspired by Saab. Saab should get credit for doing so much to push turbocharging into the daily-driver mainstream. You could get a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission in your new 1983 Saab 900, but it added 370 bucks (about $1,075 in 2022 dollars) to the cost of the car and made it much less fun to drive. This one has the 5-speed manual; I assume the E next to fifth gear stands for "efficiency." The five-door 900 Turbo listed at $16,910 with five-speed manual, which comes to about $49,055 today. A new BMW 528e cost $23,985 that year ($69,580 now) and offered just 121 horsepower.
Want one of the last Saab 9-3s ever built? Here's your chance
Fri, Jun 7 2019National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) purchased the assets of bankrupt Swedish automaker Saab in 2012. The next year, NEVS restarted production of the 9-3 sedan that lasted until 2014. In December 2013, the company pulled a silver 9-3 Aero Turbo from its pool of customer cars, intended for crash testing. The crash test never happened, and that silver sedan hung out at the factory for six years. Autocar writes that NEVS wants to find that Saab a good home, and will put it up for auction later this year. The model has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 217 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, shifted through a six-speed manual transmission. Other than the fact it's spent six years holed up in a Swedish factory, the condition is brand new - there are only 3.1 miles on the odometer. It's hard to predict what such a time capsule might go for. NEVS only built 420 units before ceasing production, so the 2013 9-3 Aero Turbo has rarity on its side. This isn't the only such Saab to roll out of the crypt recently, though. In 2017, a 2014 9-3 Aero popped up in the Netherlands with only 211 miles on the odo. In 2018, a 2011 diesel 9-3 SportCombi wagon with 56 miles on the odo broke through the space-time continuum in Italy. NEVS will put its 9-3 on display in Trollhattan this weekend during the annual Saab Car Museum Festival.
Spyker's $3B lawsuit against GM for blocking Saab sale thrown out
Tue, 11 Jun 2013US District Judge Gershwin Drain has dismissed a $3-billion lawsuit Spyker filed against General Motors. In the suit, Spyker accused GM of attempting to bankrupt Saab after the US automaker had already sold the company to Spyker. GM in effect blocked the sale of Saab to China's Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Company by prohibiting the transfer of some of its intellectual property. But the court found that GM had a "contractual right" to approve or disapprove any change of ownership. Furthermore, Reuters reports Judge Drain said the contract between GM and Spyker "is clear, unambiguous and absolute" on the matter.
GM, meanwhile, says it is pleased with the ruling. Spyker CEO Victor Muller has not said whether or not his company will appeal the ruling. The Dutch automaker is expected to make a final decision once the court issues its written order on the case.
You can read the official Spyker press release about the court ruling below for more information.
