2002 Saab 9-3 Hatchback Only 90k Miles!!!!!! on 2040-cars
Bridgewater, Massachusetts, United States
Up for sale this week is my 2002 Saab 9-3 Turbo with only 90k miles.... This car is ready to go with no major issues. I will break down and list by categorie and opinion below. *again, this is solely my opinion as the owner, i am not a mechanic. I full encourage anyone and everyone to come and inspect the vehicle by any means. Exterior: This is the royal blue color. The paint is not perfect by any means... I would rate it a 5 out of 10. It deffinately has its share of Dings and dents, most of them i tryed to show you in the pics. There are alot of TREE SAP markings on the car. It could deffinately use a Nice Detail with buff and wax. there is Zero RUST on the car. Interior: This has the nice sleek black leather interior and is in overall good condition. I would rate it a 8 out of 10. All buttons and features work on the car, including the sunroof. There are some stains on the back rear seats and the carpets could use a shampoo. The radio, heat and ac all work (allthough the antenna is broken so the radio signal is weak) The dash and LED are all good, the drivers right arm rest is a lil loose and the drivers seat switch control is loose as well. There are no cracks or rips. the rear cargo area is clean and comes with original jack and spare as well as netting. Engine: This is the 4 cyl. turbo engine. Not much to say about it... i just put a battery in last month. The oil is good, there is no sounds,or any leaks of fluid. the engine has 90,942 original miles. The transmission shifts perfectly! The car still has a Valid Mass inspection sticker good until the end of next month. Rims & Tires: The tires are in great shape, all 4 match and all 4 still have about 80% tread left. Rims are pretty good as well. some very very slight scratches on them but i would rate it a 9 out of 10. Again, they should be detailed to take off more of the brake dust. Exhaust: There is a slight exhaust leak at the Rear of the Muffler. I believe a clamp is broken. (but i am not a mechanic) It just started to get slightly loud last week. Again, its really not that bad i just wanted to inform you of all the imperfections. My name is jay, The car is Located in 02333. (about 25 mins South of BOSTON) I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to come take a look at the car, start it up, look around, drive it, etc... I am not a mechanic and the above statements are only my honest opinion. I will not be held responsible for items above not described correctly or any items i missed by accident. There are companys out there that will come look at a car (for a fee). Please, as a buyer, do your dillegence. There is not exsisting warranty or implied warranty. You are buying a used car. Payment: I require an immediate paypal depost of 500$. You then have 3 days to pay the remaining balance, either by paypal or cash in hand apon pick up. You then have 7 days from end of auction to remove the car from my property. NO exceptions!!! If car is not picked up in 7 days, buyer will forfeit any moneys (deposit or other) and i will Re List the car. *If you have any questions please ask Before Car ends, not after! i will not be held responsible if you do not ask the proper questions. Junkyard Gem: 1988 Saab 900
Tue, Nov 29 2016Saab had a cult following in North America going back to the two-stroke Saab 96, but it wasn't until the 900 made its debut for the 1978 model year that the marque started to be considered a mainstream – if still a bit odd – brand here. Based on the venerable 99 but seeming a lot more modern, the 900 sold well to those who wanted to drive something sensibly Scandinavian but didn't want the stodginess of a Volvo. These cars were especially popular in Colorado, and I found this high-mile-but-solid '88 in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. Nearly made it to 300,000 miles, but it never got the chance. The key is still in the console-mounted ignition switch, and the steel lanyard indicates that this car went to the wrecking yard via an insurance-company or dealership-trade-in auction. Since the car has no major body damage, that means that its final owner traded it in – reluctantly, we hope – on another car, and nobody was willing to bid over scrap value for the elderly Swede at auction. Most such auctions have an arrangement with a local wrecking yard to take all the unsold cars for a set price, and that's what we can assume happened to this car. Chances are that it was still in running condition when it showed up here. You could get a 1988 Saab 900 with a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission, but I can't recall having ever seen one so equipped. Most Saab 900 buyers insisted on manuals. The engine in this car is a slant-four based on the same Triumph engine used in the Triumph TR7. By the 1980s, Saab had made sufficient improvements to the design that it was several orders of magnitude more reliable than its British Leyland ancestors. This one made 110 horses, which did an acceptable job of moving the car's 2,695 pounds. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. NEVS announces 200 layoffs as it says Saab restart will 'take time'
Fri, 26 Sep 2014For a fleeting moment a few weeks ago, the news from Saab-owner National Electric Vehicle Sweden appeared almost positive. The company had its reorganization plan approved (a day after it was denied), and the automaker was actually showing a real, running vehicle, albeit one with a top speed of 75 miles per hour. But those tiny crumbs of potential goodness have been swept away because NEVS has announced layoffs of as many as 200 factory employees in September "due to lack of work."
Workers probably shouldn't get too eager to return to the factory either, because company's "decision to re-start production will be further delayed" by an unspecified amount of time, NEVS says in a press release. To begin assembling cars again, the company needs to find long-term funding and a new majority owner. Those seem like two very steep hurdles for the embattled automaker to clear.
Despite not producing cars since May, NEVS still claims it's negotiating with a new owner, possibly Mahindra, but according to Reuters, the Swedish company owes about 400 million kronor ($56 million) to creditors. According to its layoff announcement, getting rid of these workers is one step in the business' reorganization plan to be presented on October 8. Scroll down to read its full release.
One-off 1997 Saab 900 EX prototype headed to auction
Sat, Sep 23 2023An obscure and fascinating part of Saab's history is looking for a new home. The one-off 1997 900 EX was built in Norway to celebrate the company's 50th birthday, and while it was not approved for production it shows what a sporty, 900-derived coupe could have looked like. British auction house Bonhams explains that Per Ekstrom, an auto body expert and enthusiast according to The Drive, worked closely with Saab and Norwegian road authorities to create the 900 EX. His goal wasn't merely to create an eye-catching coupe that's pretty to look at but impossible to drive; he wanted the model to be street-legal and drive like a regular-production car. The auction description notes that the 900 EX was built by experienced professionals with Saab's blessing and that the process required between 3,000 and 4,000 hours of work. The end result is stunning. While the headlights and the grille create a strong visual link between the EX and the second-generation 900, which enthusiasts often refer to as the GM900, the roof line has been lowered by nearly three inches and the body has been considerably widened thanks in part to 9000 CS-sourced front and rear wheel arches. We're told that the rear window comes from a 900 Cabriolet's soft top and that the hatch is a modified panel sourced from a standard 900, though pictures of the back end haven't been released as of writing. Bonhams describes the build quality as "exceptional" and says that the panel gaps are better than those seen on many modern cars. It adds that the red and gray paint (which is a tribute to the combination often seen on the 900 SPG) is original and "in close to perfect condition."Â The interior is largely standard 900 fare. There's wood trim, leather upholstery, a three-spoke steering wheel, and the big knobs and buttons that characterized Saab models for decades. The brand designed the switchgear so that it could be easily operated by someone wearing gloves. The odometer displays about 141,600 kilometers, which represents approximately 88,000 miles, though Bonhams pegs the engine's mileage at around 154,000 kilometers (roughly 95,600 miles). Most of the miles were reportedly added before engine ended up in the EX. Speaking of the engine, power comes from a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder sourced from Saab's regular-production parts bin and tuned to send 220 horsepower to the front wheels. It's bolted to a five-speed manual transmission.
