2002 Saab 9-3 Hatchback Only 90k Miles!!!!!! on 2040-cars
Bridgewater, Massachusetts, United States
Up for sale this week is my 2002 Saab 9-3 Turbo with only 90k miles.... This car is ready to go with no major issues. I will break down and list by categorie and opinion below. *again, this is solely my opinion as the owner, i am not a mechanic. I full encourage anyone and everyone to come and inspect the vehicle by any means. Exterior: This is the royal blue color. The paint is not perfect by any means... I would rate it a 5 out of 10. It deffinately has its share of Dings and dents, most of them i tryed to show you in the pics. There are alot of TREE SAP markings on the car. It could deffinately use a Nice Detail with buff and wax. there is Zero RUST on the car. Interior: This has the nice sleek black leather interior and is in overall good condition. I would rate it a 8 out of 10. All buttons and features work on the car, including the sunroof. There are some stains on the back rear seats and the carpets could use a shampoo. The radio, heat and ac all work (allthough the antenna is broken so the radio signal is weak) The dash and LED are all good, the drivers right arm rest is a lil loose and the drivers seat switch control is loose as well. There are no cracks or rips. the rear cargo area is clean and comes with original jack and spare as well as netting. Engine: This is the 4 cyl. turbo engine. Not much to say about it... i just put a battery in last month. The oil is good, there is no sounds,or any leaks of fluid. the engine has 90,942 original miles. The transmission shifts perfectly! The car still has a Valid Mass inspection sticker good until the end of next month. Rims & Tires: The tires are in great shape, all 4 match and all 4 still have about 80% tread left. Rims are pretty good as well. some very very slight scratches on them but i would rate it a 9 out of 10. Again, they should be detailed to take off more of the brake dust. Exhaust: There is a slight exhaust leak at the Rear of the Muffler. I believe a clamp is broken. (but i am not a mechanic) It just started to get slightly loud last week. Again, its really not that bad i just wanted to inform you of all the imperfections. My name is jay, The car is Located in 02333. (about 25 mins South of BOSTON) I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to come take a look at the car, start it up, look around, drive it, etc... I am not a mechanic and the above statements are only my honest opinion. I will not be held responsible for items above not described correctly or any items i missed by accident. There are companys out there that will come look at a car (for a fee). Please, as a buyer, do your dillegence. There is not exsisting warranty or implied warranty. You are buying a used car. Payment: I require an immediate paypal depost of 500$. You then have 3 days to pay the remaining balance, either by paypal or cash in hand apon pick up. You then have 7 days from end of auction to remove the car from my property. NO exceptions!!! If car is not picked up in 7 days, buyer will forfeit any moneys (deposit or other) and i will Re List the car. *If you have any questions please ask Before Car ends, not after! i will not be held responsible if you do not ask the proper questions. Boeing, Saab take first flight in T-X trainer 36 months after starting development
Wed, Dec 21 2016This post is appearing on Autoblog Military, Autoblog's sub-site dedicated to the vehicles, aircraft and ships of the world's armed forces. Bringing a new fighter from drawing board to its first flight is generally a lengthy endeavor, taking years of planning and tweaking and engineering. Or, at least it normally does. Boeing and Saab just took their new joint-developed training fighter, the T-X, out for its first spin just 36 months after starting development. According to Saab's deputy program manager for the T-X, Eddy De la Motte, that's half the time it usually takes to get a new jet in the sky. "We went from [critical design review] to first flight in 12 months. We don't do that very much at the Boeing Company," Boeing's program manager for the T-X, Ted Torgerson told Defense News. "I don't want to say it has not been done, but for a manned aircraft to go through a complete production-ready design, that is as fast and as efficient as we've ever been through it." Boeing/Saab's first test flight was a simple, 55-minute matter for Boeing test pilots Steven Schmidt and Dan Draeger. The pair took the plane up to 10,000 feet and hit speeds of 231 knots (265 miles per hour) while running handling checks on the twin-tail, single-engine jet. "I've been a part of this team since the beginning, and it was really exciting to be the first to train and fly," pilot Schmidt said. "The aircraft met all expectations. It's well designed and offers superior handling characteristics. The cockpit is intuitive, spacious and adjustable, so everything is within easy reach." "It was a smooth flight and a successful test mission," Draeger, who rode shotgun in the instructor's seat said in an official release. "I had a great all-around view throughout the flight from the instructor's seat, which is critical during training." Boeing/Saab's T-X is one of four jets competing for the role as the US military's next training aircraft. Northrop Grumman is fielding a clean-sheet design that allegedly flew earlier this year, while Lockheed Martin and Raytheon are modifying existing designs with partners – the South Korean KAI T-50 for Lockheed and the Leonardo M-346 for Raytheon. Saab begins 9-3 EV pilot production
Thu, 10 Apr 2014To say that Saab has had a tough time lately would be like saying that it's been a little colder than usual this winter. After General Motors finally gave up and sold it to Spyker in 2010, Saab declared bankruptcy the following year. GM successfully blocked Spyker from selling Saab to Chinese automaker Youngman the following year, but ultimately it ended up in the hands of another Chinese consortium called NEVS. Standing as it does for National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the new owners promised not only to restart production of the long-suffering 9-3, but also to turn it into an electric vehicle. And that's just what it's doing.
The latest news coming out of Sweden indicates that NEVS/Saab has started building the first examples of the 9-3 EV. These first 200 or so examples are set to be shipped off to Qingdao - the Chinese city that is home to the Tsingtao brewery, hosted the sailing components of the 2008 summer games on Beijing, was supposed to host an IndyCar race in 2012 before it was canceled, and also itself just happens to own 22 percent of NEVS.
These first EVs have their batteries mounted down low in the chassis for a low center of gravity and have a range of about 20 miles on a full charge. That's absolutely paltry compared to the other EVs on the market: a Nissan Leaf will travel more than four times that distance, and a Tesla Model S will go ten times farther on a charge.
1999 Saab 9-3 Viggen is a Swede worth remembering on MotorWeek
Sun, Aug 30 2015Today, Saab survives in name only after a protracted series of bankruptcies and attempted comebacks with new owners. At the turn of the millennium, however, the brand was still able to make some great cars, though. MotorWeek is showing off one of its very best in this vintage review for the 1999 9-3 Viggen. The jet-inspired Viggen was the pinnacle of everything Saab's engineers could do at the time. Starting with the standard 9-3, the suspension was hunkered down to improve handling and lower bodywork was added for better aerodynamics. Now that the exterior looked the part, the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder was tweaked to make 225 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque. While that output may not sound hugely impressive by modern standards, those were strong numbers in the day, and the following model year made even more power. After some time behind the wheel of the VIggen, MotorWeek came away quite impressed with this Swede. While the Viggen might not have offered the full capability of high-performance, European contemporaries like the BMW M3, Saab really showed its strengths with this model.
