2002 SAAB 2 Door Convertible  Has a silver/gray exterior in excellent condition showing no real imperfections  The interior is a dark graphite grey leather that is in excellent condition.  Has a black canvass top in good condition and clear back glass.  Operates well and has been well maintained.  The top folds into a full covered hard boot for a sporty look.  Power top as well as power windows, door locks, power seats, power mirrors,  cruise control,  climate controlled air conditioning, AM/FM Stereo with CD, Keyless entry(2 keys), on star equipped,  4 cylinder turbo,  4 speed automatic, runs strong, fast, very good gas mileage (30 highway)  Good tires but will be replaced by almost new tires from another Saab. Have wind screen($400) that goes with car--works great.   Engine was replaced after car had 60,000 miles so only has 40,000 on engine,   Great car and fun to drive,  Non smoker car,  serviced regularly  Car was bought  when it had about 85,000 miles because our other Saab, exactly the same, was totaled in a wreck.  This car is in excellent condition. It could be driven easily for another 100,000 miles.  Everything works fine.

We had another (the other ) 2002 that was bought years ago and  loved it.  A teenager that was texting, hit the car in the rear and it was then totaled by the insurance.  We bought the car and still have it.  It still drives well and everything works, but the trunk is smashed in and the rear lights and bumper are scrap.   We bought it for all the parts that are still perfect on the car and for parts that may have been needed for the current car that is being sold.  Runs well and all glass, etc are good.  I will sell it with the car that is for sale for an additional $1300, which is what we paid or will sell separately for slightly more.  It is identical to the car being sold.  It has a salvage title. Could be rebuilt??? If you know of one that has one with a smashed up front end, that is for sale, please call me.  I'll pay a finders fee.

The car that is being sold was the replacement for the totaled car.  It is in excellent shape, but we have too many cars now for the current drivers in the house.

Have excellent and reasonable hauler in Missouri that has beat several bids and very timely if needed

Saab US bankruptcy plan gets legal green-light

Thu, 18 Jul 2013

It feels utterly bizarre that we're still talking about Saab, but Reuters is reporting that the bankrupt Swedish manufacturer's American arm has gotten approval from the US Bankruptcy Court to liquidate its assets and pay back creditors. As part of the plan, secured creditors like Ally Financial will receive full repayment. Unsecured creditors, consisting of those affected by abandoned leases and contracts will get anywhere from 25 to 82 percent of their money back.
There are currently $77 million in unsecured claims, according to Reuters, but that number doesn't include claims from former Saab dealers. Naturally, the entire affair is full of lawyers and legalese. A trust formed on the Saab side will be negotiating with creditors and their affiliates in an attempt to reduce claims against Saab. This sounds like the start of a long and sordid affair...

Saab 900 SPG is the latest Petrolicious love story

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

The latest video from the crew at Petrolicious covers one funky Swede - a 1989 Saab 900 SPG. Produced from 1978 to 1998, the 900 enjoyed a long history, and thanks to its iconic look, it's quickly becoming a modern classic for the off-kilter car enthusiast. The SPG, short for Special Performance Group, makes this a particularly rare find, with owner Jordan Melville saying, "I didn't even realize what I had at the time."
Melville gives a rundown of his life with the 900 and his passion for Saab overall, even reflecting on that dark day that saw the Swedish brand closed its doors. As always, the videography is excellent and the story is intriguing in this latest video from Petrolicious. You can view the entire video down below.

Saab's latest Chinese owners facing their own credit woes

Sat, 16 Aug 2014

Poor Saab, it can't seem to get a break. General Motors couldn't seem to make a go of it, neither could Spyker, and now it seems that its latest owner is encountering some problems of its own.
That owner, of course, is National Electric Vehicle Sweden, a Swedish holding company owned by Chinese investors. NEVS recently restarted production at the Saab plant in Trollhättan, Sweden, and had some ambitious plans for the brand's revival, but it appears to have run out of cash.
This according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, which discovered that NEVS is having trouble paying its suppliers. One such supplier, called Labo Test, has reportedly been owed some $22,000 by NEVS since February, and without payment, petitioned the Swedish government to place NEVS into bankruptcy proceedings. If that seems a little extreme to you over twenty-two grand, it would seem the parties agree, as the petition has reportedly since been withdrawn.
