Saab Viggen

  • Rare Saab “viggen”!

  • Just traded in on a new car!

  • Drives very nicely!

  • NO RESERVE!

  • Highest bidder owns this one!

Just in trade is this 2000 Saab ultra-rare Viggen! As we all know these Viggens are getting harder and harder to find. This car needs some TLC but is ready for its next owner to get it back to its glorious days.  The car runs and drives very well. No smoke, no check engine lights.  It rides very tight and solid. Shifts excellent.   I want to be very clear with the next owner so here goes! I drove the car for three days and it ran excellent. The air-conditioning even blows cold.  On Saturday while driving  it seemed to not boost anymore.  Prior to this it ran flawlessly.  I drove it back and that was it. It makes no funny bad noises and shows no signs of a  serious problem.  As for the condition of the car I will say in its present condition it needs some love.  Its  a “Viggen” that deserves love! The body has scratches and dings. The hood shows some stone chips. The bumpers have some scuffs and the bottom of front bumper has had a run in with a few curbs.  The interior needs a good cleaning  and is dirty.  Just normal use. This car is very original and never been molested with aftermarket parts.   CarFax shows this to be a accident free two owner car. As I hope you can tell I am trying to be very clear and honest. I welcome any inspections PRIOR to bidding. Please remember this is not a brand new car and is going to need some work. What you see is what you get.  This auction is set with NO RESERVE! Highest bidder will own it! Please check out my perfect feedback and bid with complete confidence. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 860-883-8597. Thank you and good luck!

Payment options:  A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction. Balance to be paid within 7 days via certified funds. A $349.00 dealer conveyance fee is attached to the final price, this includes visual vehicle safety inspection, paperwork preparation and temporary plate if needed. Vehicle sold “AS IS”. We will be happy to assist in pickup at the airport or train station. We will also assist in arranging delivery at your expense. All we ask is you have the funds to back your bids. No excuses! No exceptions!

Saab still alive and well at New Jersey dealership

Mon, Dec 29 2014

We all know the Saab story: a niche automaker that just couldn't last in the quickening pace of an increasingly competitive industry, despite its loyal following. But just because the automaker has all but completely disappeared, it doesn't mean that the loyal following has as well. In fact Saab Automobiles Parts North America estimates there are some 450,000 Saabs still in use in the United States, and many of them are still die-hard brand faithful who are adamantly clinging to the bankrupt brand they love. And many of those loyal customers are still finding a home at Park Avenue Saab in Maywood, NJ. Although the Park Avenue Auto Group operates Acura, BMW and Lotus franchises, it hasn't given up on Saab just because the company isn't making any new cars anymore. Instead it's set up shop in an old Suzuki showroom and is building a growing list of Saab customers across New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania – parts of that list acquired from other, closed Saab dealers in the region. The dealership stocks spare parts and is ready to perform whatever service and maintenance existing Saab owners might need, but it's also still buying and selling Saabs: used models with low mileage and manufactured as close as possible to the end of production in 2011. So when an owner of an old Saab is ready to trade up, the dealership has something to offer. And many of those loyal customers, according to Automotive News, are willing to pay top dollar rather than switch to another brand. If and when a Saab owner needs to buy something newer – as most will have to – the dealer is ready to introduce them to a new Acura or BMW, but to date, very few have. That's why Park Avenue Saab still sells about 40 used Saabs every month to customers in the vicinity, across the country or even overseas. Between the sales and service departments, the dealership is still turning a brisk business, but unless NEVS, Mahindra or some other knight in shining armor swoops in and manages to do what GM and Spyker couldn't, the dealership's management know the business can't last forever.

Vampire Weekend burns for Saab

Thu, 21 Mar 2013

Or is it the other way around?
Could Vampire Weekend be trying to tell me something? A just-launched music video for the indie rock band's new single Diane Young features what looks like a pretty mint black Saab 900 Turbo Convertible being torched in slow-motion. In fact, with the exception of a brief, flickering cameo by a 900 three-door of a similar vintage, that's all that there is to the nearly three-minute long video. It's both sad and oddly beautiful.
Coincidentally, I have a similar-looking turbocharged black Saab convertible sitting in my garage, and I've been reluctantly pondering its sale this very week. Admittedly, mine is a later model (2001 9-3 Viggen), but tri-spokes and more tapered rump aside, it looks eerily identical. And while mine isn't mired in flames (I love it too much to torch it), through no fault of its own, it's been sitting motionless far too regularly. Thankfully, I see a better future for it than the droptop seen above.

Son Surprises Mom With Dream Car

Thu, Aug 14 2014

We can't get enough of these dream car-reveals. Here's the latest one: A son wanted to treat his mom to the car she's had her eye on for years, but it wasn't a restored Porsche or a fancy 1957 Chevy Bel Air. This mom wanted something special – a 1973 Saab 99 EMS painted disco-fever copper. Ever since he was a kid, Corey Wadden's mom has wanted the Saab. Wadden writes on his YouTube video that she first hopped in the driver's seat of one of these odd retro rides while working as a cleaning lady. One of her clients would toss her the keys and let her move the car. She fell in love. After a year of searching and saving, this nominee for best son in the world brought his mom down to the parking lot, where her dream ride awaited. First, he handed her an envelope with a picture of the car and the keys, a dead giveaway. She quickly put two and two together, and lost it before making it to the parking lot. She is so happy and full of gratitude that she actually drops to her knees when he opens the door. Wadden writes on his page that his mom lost her job two-and-a-half years ago and hasn't had a reliable car in years. This car aims not just to get her mobile again, but lift her spirits. It's also part of the Toronto entrepreneur's promise to become a millionaire by the time he is 25 to help his mother retire. Related Gallery The Best Cars For Empty Nesters Weird Car News Saab
