1986 Rolls Royce Silver Spur(lwb) 6.75l V8 Ps,pw,pb,ps Power Mirrors on 2040-cars
Lake Forest, California, United States
Beautiful car. Silver over black with grey Connolly leather interior. Has burled Walnut dash, door finishers and back seat tables. Has Wilton carpets with the Geniuine Rolls over carpets for both the front and back seats. There are carpeted foot rests for the back seat passengers. This car has been maintained, for years, by Ronnie at Ronnie's Garage in Santa Ana, Ca. Ronnie is a prince among men when it comes to Rolls and Bently automobiles. He knows them inside out, backwards and forward. You never pay for fixes that aren't really problems. This car has had things taken care of taken care of and taken care of right every year.Ronny even modified the power windows so they go up and down quickly. The alternator was replaced. The hydraulics spheres have beeen replaced. Year before last was time for new tires.Last year the brakes were given a major renewal with rotors and pads. The dash had a couple of raised spots so it was refinished by Madera Concepts in Goleta, Ca. The silver part of the car became harder and harder to shine so three yeas ago it was redone with new hand painted pin strips. This car is a two owner car. It has had an easy life. It is a preserved car, not a restored car. It's beautiful on the outside. It's beautiful on the inside and it runs beautifully on the road. It gets attention everywhere we go with it. The only reason for selling it is we bought a 58 Hatteras LRC and are going cruising for the forseeable future. If you want the best of the best for less than the cost of a new Honda take a hard look at this car. You won't regret it. |

Even in a down economy, Rolls-Royce is on a roll
Wed, 05 Dec 2012Limited Volume, Big Margins Spell Success
Bigger isn't always better, especially when it comes to selling super luxury. Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös expects the British automaker to again post a record year, despite the economic troubles in Europe and weak growth in both the US and China.
"It is not all doom and gloom out there," Müller-Ötvös explains, noting that the declining sales in Europe and elsewhere have been offset by good performance for the marque in the Middle East, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Russia.
Aeroboat packs 1,100 seahorses of Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 power
Wed, 21 May 2014We don't typically cover boats here - this is, after all, Autoblog and not Aquablog - but every so often something comes along that makes us want to dip our toes in the water, whether it's a Jaguar-designed speedboat, a Gulf-liveried megayacht or a Lamborghini-powered Riva Aquarama. This is another one of those occasions.
Set to be unveiled at the Salute to Style show in July at The Hurlingham Club in London, the Aeroboat is a motor yacht that seems to blend retro and furutistic lines in equal measure that would make Jules Verne proud without going Steampunk. Inspired by the Spitfire fighter plane, the Aeroboat packs aircraft-inspired switchgear and shock-mounted seats into a long, sleek form. But what really has our interests piqued is what lies beneath the stylish decks.
Each of the dozen Aeroboats to be built will pack a reconditioned, marinized, fuel-injected Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine - the same 27-liter powerplant that propelled the Spitfire. With 1,100 horsepower on tap, it's expected to propel the Aeroboat up to a top speed between 75 and 95 knots, or 86-109 miles per hour by landlubber standards, which is pretty damn fast on the open water.
Rolls-Royce releases sketch of Phantom Drophead Coupe Bespoke Waterspeed Collection
Wed, 05 Feb 2014A limited-edition Rolls-Royce Phantom is something of an oxymoron. The company only sold 3,630 cars last year, and even fewer of those were its flagship Phantom. However, that isn't keeping the company from regularly revealing even more limited editions of its already hyper-exclusive cars. This is precisely the case with the new Phantom Drophead Coupé Bespoke Waterspeed Collection, a forthcoming model limited to 35 examples.
The special models are inspired by a famous speedboat race on September 1, 1937, between the United States and Great Britain on Lake Maggiore on the Swiss-Italian border. The British fielded the Bluebird K3 hydroplane boat powered by a massive supercharged V12 Rolls-Royce R-Type engine with Sir Malcolm Campbell at the helm. All that displacement shot the sleek watercraft to 129.5 miles per hour, claiming a new world waterspeed record in the process.
For the special commemorative Drophead Coupé model that celebrates "a seminal act of British daring and endeavor," Rolls-Royce is finishing the convertible in Maggiore Blue paint with a brushed steel hood and tonneau cover, along with inlaid wood trim. Rolls is not announcing an official release date or price for the special cars yet, but they are going on sale before the end of the year. Scroll down for the whole story about the car's inspiration.
