***1984 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit***
NO RESERVE AUCTION

This Rolls-Royce could either be restored or used as a parts car.  It's all there, except that I have No Key for it.  It does have a clear PA Title.  Without the key it's hard to really check it out, but I did jump the starter and the motor will run, it's not seized or knocking.  It started up right away but only for a few seconds because it can't get any fuel without the ignition turning on the fuel pump/fuel injection.  All the lights turned on as well when I jumped the starter so I know they're working.

This is a solid Rolls and it could probably be fixed and driven.  Something is broken in the transmission, I'm not sure what, and the brakes will need work.  I heard Rolls-Royce used GM sourced Turbo 400 transmissions in these cars.

Or the car could be parted out for a lot of money.  The body is in good shape, all the doors are good, the hood is good, and the front grille is in great shape.  The only thing wrong with the body is that there's a dent in the trunk lid, a dent on the driver's side front fender, and the driver's side rear tail light lens is broken.  All the glass is tinted and it's all in excellent condition with no cracks.

The interior is in very good shape as well.....the carpets, headliner, door panels, dash, and seats are all in good shape.  The seats are brown leather with white piping.  The tires are Goodyear Eagle GA, size 235/70/R15's and they have a lot of tread left, they're some kind of special heavy-duty tires I think.....they're made in Luxembourg.

I'm sure I'm missing stuff and I'm not familiar with these kinds of cars, but I took a lot of pictures of it so check them all out, the pictures probably say more than I can say about it.  I'm not sure what it means or if it helps anybody out, but the tag under the hood says "Trim No.  VM890, VM3234, 4273" and "Paint No.  9510451".

This car obviously has to be towed from my house and it will be the buyer's responsibility to do that.  I live in zip code 08053.  Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to answer them.  Thanks.

One-off Boat Tail is the tapered tip of Rolls-Royce's coachbuilding iceberg

Thu, Jun 24 2021

Rolls-Royce is open to taking additional requests for one-off cars from its wealthiest clients in the coming years. It doesn't plan to make coachbuilt vehicles the norm in order to maintain their exclusivity, however. Rumored to cost nearly $30 million, the Boat Tail (pictured) introduced in May 2021 demonstrated what the BMW-owned British firm is capable of when money is truly no object. It's the product of a four-year development process that presumably cost several million dollars, and it was built at the request of three anonymous clients. It's the first car made since Coachbuild was promoted to a standalone division with the group, and it's very likely not the last. "Our idea is to maybe do one project every second year. Whether it's three cars or one car will hinge very much on the idea of the clients, and also on our appetite for doing it," explained company boss Torsten Muller-Otvos in an interview with British magazine Autocar. He added Rolls-Royce has the luxury to turn down requests it doesn't like. Precisely what will receive the firm's proverbial green light for production hasn't been specified. We're guessing future one-offs will need to adhere to the company's image, so transforming a humble Fiat 500 into a luxury car, Aston Martin Cygnet-style, is probably very low on the firm's list of priorities. Regardless, one-of-a-kind models won't roll out of the Rolls-Royce workshop on a weekly basis. Executives want to keep them "very rare," the CEO added, even if they receive numerous requests. Supply won't necessarily keep up with demand. What comes next depends on what customers request (and are willing to pay for). Rolls-Royce is open to experimenting with different body styles and different powertrain types, including a fully electric system. It's reportedly working on its first electric model, which could be called Silent Shadow when it enters production, and this foundation could be used to make a coachbuilt car if a customer commissions it. "There is no intention to boost any volume, because the intention clearly is to create projects that are significant for the brand's history in 70 or 100 years or so, and that are truly unique pieces. That also fits quite nicely into the heritage of Rolls-Royce with coachbuilding projects in the 1920s and the 1930s," Muller-Otvos concluded. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. 2014 Rolls-Royce Wraith is everything you need, everything you don't [w/videos]

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

It's not often that we get to talk about a new Rolls-Royce, what with the fact that the company's current model line is basically made up of two vehicles. But that all changes here at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, with the introduction of what might be the most emotional Roller of modern times, the Wraith.
The new two-door Rolls is effectively a Ghost coupe, and it stands to reason that this is Royce's answer to the Bentley Continental GT, albeit at a higher price point. Much higher, actually - the 245,000-euro - $320k USD - price of entry for the Wraith is about $100,000 more than a Continental GT Speed coupe. Woof. And to our eyes, all that extra money isn't buying you much in the looks department, as the collective opinion of the Autoblog editors on-site in Geneva is that it's more imposing than elegant.
But the Wraith will no doubt be a special, exclusive, impressive machine for anyone who plunks down that sort of cash. For starters, it's powered by a V12 that puts out an impressive 624 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque mated to an eight-speed ZF "Satellite Aided" transmission. This nifty cog-swapper actually works with GPS to not only pre-select the right gear for the portion of road you're on, but for the next portion of you'll be driving on, as well. That, friends, is cool.

Grey Poupon to air new version of famous Rolls-Royce ad, this time with car chase [w/video]

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

Grey Poupon mustard will revive the concept behind its famous Pardon Me commercials with a new ad that will air only once on television during this Sunday's broadcast of the Academy Awards.
The original spot, which showed two one-percenters sharing the condiment between their Rolls-Royces at an intersection, first aired all the way back in 1981, and variations of it continued up through 1997. Kraft, owner of the Grey Poupon brand, is hoping that reviving the commercial will boost sagging sales and raise the mustard's profile with a younger generation of fancy folk.
So why are we talking about this on Autoblog? Because the new version of the ad won't end with a polite passing of the bottle. Rather, we're told a car chase ensues when the Grey Poupon's owner doesn't get it back. We're assuming the two cars in question will again be a pair of Rolls-Royce sedans, probably Phantoms unless they go with more vintage model years.
