Hi there,

Up for auction is our 83 Rolls Royce Silver Spur PARTS CAR. 75,000 miles, LOW MILAGE. NO RESERVE It was a daily driver up until about a year ago; at that time we were closing our automotive repair shop and the car was parked in a storage lot. Someone threw a couple chunks of concrete over the fence, to be clever I guess, and one broke the back window, another dented and scratched the trunk lid pretty good. We decided it would be better to part out the car because it was worth a lot more in parts than selling as a whole and we needed to thin the herd and free up some space. After a year of parting out random things here and there (not very proactively) we no longer have a storage lot and trying to part out this car in front of our house isn't going so well. This is a great opportunity for someone with the time and space to dismantle the car and sell everything, the engine alone should go for at least $1,500, control arms also go for that amount from the research I've done, Transmission, another $1,500, that already more then what we are listing this for. Engine ran flawlessly when parked and nothing has been taken off the engine, so its still all there and complete. See below for list of parts we have sold from the vehicle, the majority of the car is there. Body is very very straight, original white paint but was kept clean and buffed. Interior is red leather, sun baked and normal wear and tear for a car of this age. Seats would need to be redone if going into a nicer car. Everything is functional, nothing was broken or not working when it was parked. Honestly it was a mistake to start taking this car apart, it was beautiful and mobbed in the rain, couldn't hydroplane this car if you tried, at least here in Santa Barbara. You could technically find the missing parts, if you are looking for a project, and restore this to its original beauty, never been in an accident as far as I know and like I said super straight. But it would be much much easier to just turn it into loads of profit parting it out piece by piece.

SOLD AS IS - FOR PARTS ONLY - Car has broken back window, dent in right rear door, and trunk lid, missing steering rack, fuel pump, grille, flying lady figure, hub caps, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, interior carpet, misc body parts such as 2 door handles, glove box door and latch, speedometer, misc panels from dash area, one window regulator, window switch, ignition switch and key, catalytic converter. Rolls-Royce Phantom Limelight is opulence par excellence

Fri, Apr 24 2015

Rolls-Royce never tires of putting out limited-edition versions of the company's plush models as a way to show off what its Bespoke team is capable of. The latest in a long line of ritzy Rolls is the new Phantom Limelight Collection, which takes inspiration from the theatrical stage. The luxurious sedan was technically unveiled at the recent Shanghai Motor Show, but detailed images and more info about the custom four-door was just released. Limited to 25 cars worldwide, the Limelight Collection marks the debut of Rolls' latest rear seats, and they are about as lavish as you would expect. The chair backs can recline up to 27 degrees, and a calf rest comes up a further 68 degrees to fully support wealthy passengers. There's also a power footrest hidden in the floor. Beyond the swanky seats, the Limelight also packs a dressers-worth of storage in the doors. Offered in both Ladies' or Gentleman's versions, they include custom places to store perfume, watches and jewelry. The rest of the interior is also available in two schemes that are dominated by either Seashell leather with Navy Blue as a contrast or vice-versa. To complete the theme, the exterior is painted in a shade called Gala Blue, and there's a Seashell and navy stripe painted down the side. Like the rest of Rolls' special cars, the Limelight amounts to some seriously upscale trim on an already high-class vehicle, but there's little doubt the company can sell all 25 of them. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Limelight Collection has been conceived for that select group of people who spend their lives in the public eye and on the world stage. Its name was inspired by the origin of a British invention which became synonymous with fame. The limelight effect was originally discovered in the 1820s by Sir Goldsworthy Gurney, a prototypical British gentleman scientist and inventor of the Victorian era. It was harnessed to revolutionise illumination in the theatres of London's Covent Garden, highlighting leading actors on the stage, thus leading to the phrase, 'in the limelight'.

Even Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce have designed flying taxis

Mon, Jul 16 2018

Think British-built taxi cabs and you're likely to think of the classic, black London taxis. However, there are British companies eager to take taxis to the skies — bearing vaunted nameplates. Aston Martin has created the Volante Vision Concept, which isn't a sports car, but a luxury VTOL aircraft. It is the product of a joint venture with Cranfield University, Cranfield Aerospace Solutions and Rolls-Royce, and Aston says it's a "near-future study" that previews a flying autonomous hybrid-electric vehicle. It's meant for both urban and inter-city travel. The hybrid powertrain would come courtesy of Rolls-Royce Electrical, which has already provided such systems for marine and train use. The Volante Vision Concept's design language has been overseen by Marek Reichman, who stated the following: "We are at the beginning of a new generation of urban transportation; vertical mobility is no longer a fantasy. We have a unique chance to create a luxury concept aircraft that will represent the ultimate fusion of art and technology. We have used forms and proportions that express the same devotion to design, engineering and beauty that shape our cars." The leather interior bears familiar, winged Aston Martin badging — though this time the wings are especially appropriate. Beyond working with Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce plc has also designed a flying taxi of its own. Similarly VTOL, Rolls-Royce's hybrid-electric taxi has rotating wings and uses a gas turbine engine paired to hybrid tech; it is designed to carry four or five passengers and offers a 500-mile range with a top speed of 250 mph. And Rolls, of course, as a major supplier of aircraft engines, knows a thing or two about flying. Rolls says that if there is a business case for the flying taxi, it could see production in the early-to-mid-2020s. The Rolls-Royce concept was presented Monday at the Farnborough Air Show. Artists reinterpret Rolls-Royce scale models for charity

Sat, May 23 2015

Everyone loves toy cars. Even artists, apparently. And even if they toys in question are higher-end "scale models" of high-end cars like Rolls-Royces. The British automaker recently assembled a dozen contemporary artists to render their individual creative interpretations based on 1:18 scale models of the Rolls-Royce Ghost. They'll be displayed at a showroom in the center of London before being auctioned off to raise funds for breast cancer. The resulting creations came out pretty interesting, ranging from a Rolls-based, Back to the Future-style time machine to another grown over with moss and mushrooms. One of the artists, Charming Baker, suspended his model in a resin block and drilled it through fourteen times to represent how breast cancer can affect us all. If you happen to wander by Berkeley Square in the British capital any time before the end of June, it may be worth stopping in to have a look. But if your plans won't be taking you to London this summer, you can check them out in the slideshow above. Maybe you'll see something you like a place a bid. It's all for a good cause. Related Video: ROLLS-ROYCE GHOST TRANSFORMED BY LEADING ARTISTS FOR BREAST CANCER CARE Twelve leading artists have created unique artworks, each featuring a 1:18 scale replica of the iconic Rolls-Royce Ghost, for a one-of-a-kind collection. These spectacular artworks, donated by some of the biggest names in contemporary art, will be on show from 20-25 May 2015 at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London in Berkeley Square to raise valuable funds for Breast Cancer Care. The model motor car has been transformed to create an extraordinary collection of one-off art pieces, created by artists including: Maggi Hambling, Richard Wentworth, Gavin Turk, Mark Wallinger, JJ Adams, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Charming Baker, Natasha Law, Angela Palmer, Andrew Salgado, Stuart Semple and Yinka Shonibare. London artist Charming Baker, known for his emotionally charged work, explains the thinking behind his artwork, 'One in Eight'. "It is important to me that the work I produce for this brief is relevant to the subject matter we're dealing with. One in eight women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. So I have set the car in a clear block of resin, suspended in the middle of the block – floating, pristine. The block has been drilled 16 times, in a very orderly and simple grid pattern.
