This incredible RHD 1967 Rolls Royce was purchased from Frank Dale and Stepsons in South London in 1982. Amazingly it was flown by Pan-Am Cargo 747 to JFK and picked up by the Rolls enthusiast lady owner and driven back to the Pacific North West. It arrived in New York with 78k miles on the clock, it now has just 88,070. Much historical paperwork authenticates this fabulous old Rolls and its mileage. This is a very rare early production Shadow low serial # SRH2350. It has all the 1967 period correct features not found even on some 68 models. It has picnic tables, quarter vent windows, chrome interior door pull handles, rear factory headrests, badge bar, original and working factory radio/power antenna etc. Other than having paintwork done due to bumps and bruises here and there, it's been serviced and is otherwise completely untouched over the past 46 years. This is an amazing project for anyone who knows and appreciates these early Shadows. The car was placed on blocks, covered and stored around 1995 and only re emerged about 2 months ago this year when the lady owner sadly passed away. With respect, she obviously loved this car from the day she set eyes on it. The body is solid as are the rocker panels. The front valance is rusted and replaceable with a newly available re manufactured panel, in fact just about any part new, repro or s/hand is available for these cars now. Every piece of original rubber weatherstriping is perfect with zero deterioration or damage, as is the original "Everflex" roof. There is no rust under the top, the floor, the trunk etc. The only other corrosion is a small dime side area on a rear quarter panel and a small patch low down by the rear mudguard and that's it! This car has a strong smooth running smoke free motor, the very rare "Hydramatic" 4 speed transmission (fitted to U.K. Right Hand Drive cars only) shifts through all the gears perfectly, all jacking tools, bag and battery box cover components are present but no tool kit or handbook. The car always starts up either by the key or by the under hood solenoid button as fitted to these early models. Coolant holds pressure beautifully with zero leaks, oil change and filter has just been done. It drives smooth with plenty of hesitation free power on the road. Please note this is a project car that will need at the very least proper servicing before being seriously driven anywhere! The exhaust system is blowing, the tires although "brand new looking" were new at 81k in 1983!! The brakes work but need servicing, some suspension parts require new seals, plus most probably hydraulic pump service/replacement etc. Interior is superb in every way. All windows work but need assistance going up. Driver power seat works, other has faulty switch. All other electrics work. Door cappings need re varnishing, wood dash is superb plus all gauges work exc clock, headlining, padded dash etc is totally original and superb. Cream/beige interior "Connolly" hide is amazing and superb as are the "Wilton" wool leather bound carpets complete with original drivers heel pad still in place. Nothing inside has been re colored re touched or messed with. Paintwork is old, dull and needs to be redone. Exterior chrome I would rate at a 5 out of 10. Radiator shell casing needs re soldering on one seam where the lead solder let go. So there you have it, I love this old car (anyone would) but it needs time and money spent on it by someone who knows Rolls Royce's. There is no reserve to make this totally unique one of a kind vintage Rolls Royce a very attractive and affordable project for just about any pocket book. Remember you are bidding on a 46 year old antique car that spent nearly 20 years in storage. Vehicle needs to be transported, has never even had USA plates put on it, serious buyers only, buyer responsible for shipping, low feedback or zero feedback ebay bidders must contact me first with your phone number before bidding or your bids will be cancelled, $1,000.00 deposit required within 48 hours of auction end from winning bidder, full payment required within one week of auction end. Rolls-Royce Wraith Luminary Collection gets celestial headliner
Wed, Mar 28 2018Rolls-Royce has announced a new bespoke collection for its Wraith 2-door luxury coupe that is highlighted, literally, by a headliner full of glittering shooting stars. It's called the Wraith Luminary Collection and its production will be limited to just 55 examples. The car is like its own planetarium on wheels, thanks to a starlight headliner concocted by the folks at the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective in Goodwood, West Sussex. It's a handwoven configuration of 1,340 fiber-optic lights mimicking the night sky — and even the occasional shooting star — and it takes 20 hours to configure. Rolls-Royce says eight shooting stars fire at random, mostly over the front seats. Open up the suicide doors and you'll see the celestial theme continued inside the cabin. Tudor oak wood veneer, sourced from forests in the Czech Republic and chosen for its depth of color and grain structure, is back-lit by 176 LED lights that permeates through intricate perforations in the veneer that form another starlight pattern at the touch of a button. "Linked to the controls of the starlight headliner, the cabin's veneer surrounds Wraith's occupants in an ambient glow of light," the luxury marque says. Outside, the Luminary Collection comes pained in Sunburst Grey with rich Saddlery Tan-colored lines hand painted along the bonnet and side body, a color scheme inspired by "the heady shade of the golden hour's sunrays" and referencing the interior leather color scheme. It's also echoed in the center of each wheel. Cockpit seats come trimmed in the same tan leather, while rear seats feature a contrasting Anthracite leather or an available Seashell color for the leather, matched by a two-tone steering wheel. The seats get contrasting piping and stitching tying the colors together. Also new is a hand-woven stainless steel fabric, a new technique for luxury goods borrowed from industrial uses, for the center console and door panniers. Each swath is made up of strands between 0.08 and 0.19 millimeters in diameter and takes three days to produce in a clean-room environment. Finally, the collection features stainless-steel tread plates engraved with the words, "Wraith Luminary Collection — One of Fifty-Five." Prices weren't announced, befitting the brand's aura of exclusivity, but the Wraith starts at a mere $320,000.
Rolls-Royce shows bespoke Pinnacle Travel Phantom in Beijing
Fri, 18 Apr 2014Rolls-Royce is exclusive. Rolls-Royce's Bespoke Collection, though, takes that exclusivity to the highest levels, representing the very finest work that the craftsmen at the company's Goodwood factory are capable of producing. With the Pinnacle Travel Phantom, set to be shown at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Rolls-Royce may have finally outdone itself. Apparently, the puzzling name (as well as the reason it's being shown in Beijing) comes from China's second consecutive year as the largest outbound travel market in the world.
The one-off custom job wears a gorgeous two-tone paint scheme, with a section of Silver Sand and a lot of Madeira Red paint. The intricate coachline includes a few small details that just add to the exterior's specialness.
The cabin, though, is where the work has really been done. It has throw pillows, for crying out loud. Ignoring the silvery poofs on the back seats, the cabin is dominated by Morello Red and Seashell leather, the former of which is on the seats, doors and interior partition. The woodwork, is some of the most beautiful we've seen from Rolls-Royce, which is saying something.
Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail a dark floral love letter to customization
Sun, Aug 20 2023Rolls-Royce's boat-themed custom vehicle developments have gone from the 2017 Sweptail to the 2021 Boat Tail and now the Droptail — to be precise, the La Rose Noire Droptail. This is the first of four coachbuilt Droptails, handed over in a private gathering near Pebble Beach to the family that commissioned it. The name La Rose Noire blows a kiss to the Black Baccara, a hybrid tea rose created in France around 25 years ago and a favorite of the matriarch in the family that commissioned the Rolls-Royce. The flower's petals shimmer from almost black to dark red-burgundy and pomegranate depending on the light and the angle of view. Two hues represent this fierce luster on the car: a deep red called True Love and a darker red called Mystery. Painters applied the iridescent True Love to the body with a secret base coat followed by five layers of clear lacquer, each lacquer layer blended with a slightly different tone of red. Rolls-Royce says it took more than 150 experiments to perfect the final product. True Love appears again on the Pantheon upper grille, the shade painted on the backs of the grille vanes. Rolls-Royce 3D-printed the lower intake in a composite material, accented with 202 stainless-steel ingots painted in True Love. Mystery bows on the 22-inch alloy wheels, contrasted with millwork that exposes the alloy spokes underneath. And a new chrome plating process created the darkly reflective Hydroshade tint of the brightwork. Removing the custom roof with its electrochromic glass panel reveals a cockpit that Rolls-Royce used to set new standards for its craftsmanship. The buyers wanted parquetry with a motif of scattering rose petals. Rolls-Royce decided the best way to achieve that would be to create and finish 1,603 Black Sycamore veneer triangles by hand, and lay 503 red veneer pieces asymmetrically among them to represent the petals. The woodwork runs across the instrument panel and in an element along the doors, then down the tail. The application was so intense that a single artist worked in one-hour stints no more than five hours a day in a sound-insulated room "to ensure the focus required."Â Then there's the treasure in the instrument panel. The commissioning family went to Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet for a custom timepiece, a 43-millimeter Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date.
