I'm selling my 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. I have owned it for over ten years. The car was repainted in 2004 in two stage paint in the original Masons Black color. The brakes were serviced about 500 miles ago. I had the carburators rebuilt around that time as well. The car is a US left hand drive model that has spent most of its life in California. It does not have any rust to my knowledge. No dents, dings. In the pictures you will notice that the car has aftermarket wheel covers. I have a set of four original RR stock/original wheel covers that are included in the sale as well. The paint is in nice and presentable condition. No rust, dents or dings in the body of any kind.
There are, however, a few items that should be looked at. Exhaust needs repaired and or muffler(s) replaced. The AC/fan does not work, the electric front seats are intermittent, the odometer does not work, the windshield wipers do not work. Power locks and windows operate fine. All exterior and interior lights are in working condition. Car runs, drives, brakes and shifts fine, always passes the Calif. biannual Smog Check with flying colors, is currently registered in California and can be driven just fine as is. The wood is in decent shape but please take into account that this is a 35 year old car so it's not showroom fresh. Minor cracking and fading of varnish shows in certain areas on dashboard and top of door panels. The leather on the seats and door panels is in very good condition without tears, cracks or repairs needed. The headliner is in very good condition with no work needed of any kind. I have a low reserve on this car. If you have any questions, please send me an email with a phone number and I will email or call you right away. Happy bidding!

Rolls-Royce Wraith convertible planned, SUV rumors kicked to the curb

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Seeing as it adheres to the exotic car template we've known for years, it should surprise no one that the next model from Rolls-Royce will reportedly be a convertible version of the Wraith. When the coupe is on its way to dealers at the end of this year, company CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös has told Autocar that the British luxury marque start applying itself to the convertible.
At no time will they apply themselves to an SUV, though. Still sticking to its brand-value guns, Müller-Ötvös says that an SUV wouldn't have that trademark Rolls-Royce feeling and that such a vehicle hasn't even been discussed. Having heard this before from other brands, we can't help but suspect that one day in the future we'll hear the phrase, "Oh, but this is the Rolls-Royce of SUVs."
The investment in an SUV would also mean a huge investment in the factory at Goodwood, however, since Wraith production is expected to need three shifts and raise levels to near capacity. And forget about building anything from The Spirit of Ecstasy somewhere else, Müller-Ötvös saying, "Rolls-Royces are built in Goodwood."

Rolls-Royce to show new Cullinan SUV in 'closed-room' events

Wed, Jan 24 2018

Rolls-Royce plans a series of closed-room events starting this summer to show off its upcoming ultra-luxury SUV to potential buyers ahead of its expected unveiling in late summer. Codenamed the Cullinan and described by the company as an "all-terrain, high-sided vehicle," the SUV is Rolls-Royce's answer to ultra-luxury competitors like the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini's new Urus. It's expected to nudge the brand's vehicle sales past 5,000 a year after sales in 2017 fell 16 percent to 3,362, Automotive News reports. Engineers are now finalizing the handling of the vehicle on Germany's Nurburgring track. The Cullinan bears the luxury brand's signature long hood, vertical-slatted grille and upright, block-like fascia. It will be built on the same aluminum platform as the Phantom and is also likely to share the 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 that makes 563 horsepower and and eight-speed automatic transmission, only in all-wheel-drive. Sales are expected to start near the end of the year with deliveries beginning in 2019.Related Video:

Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini utilities await approval from German parents [w/poll]

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

A cursory look at the top of the automobile market would suggest that the world's carmakers are gunning it full steam ahead into a new stratosphere of ultra-luxury and high-performance utility vehicles. After all, companies like Bentley and Maserati are preparing to launch their very first crossovers, while established players like Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover keep producing ever more expensive sport-utes of their own. But that's not the case across the board.
Rolls-Royce, for example, has yet to receive the green light to start working on its proposed CUV project. Though the dimensions of its sedans may already eclipse those of some crossovers, this would be the first time that Goodwood would produce a utility of its own. But while the British automaker's financial performance may have earned it a degree of autonomy, the final call may still come down to parent company BMW, which just might be waiting to see how Bentley fares with its upcoming crossover - and how much money it brings in to the Volkswagen Group - before deciding on whether or not it should proceed.
However, Rolls-Royce may not be alone in waiting for its German parent company to approve its high-priced ute. It's been two and a half years since we first laid eyes on the Lamborghini Urus (pictured), but the Italian automaker reportedly has not yet received approval from its parent company Audi and the greater Volkswagen Group to proceed with development and production. Envisioned to share its platform with the next Volkswagen Touareg, Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and the production version of the Bentley EXP 9 F concept, the high-riding Lamborghini was originally set to reach production as the marque's third model line in 2017. But while Audi drags its feet - potentially waiting to see how the Bentley version pans out - the Urus' launch keeps getting pushed back, if it's ever to be made at all.
