Rolls-Royce
Silver Shadow
1973

This is a very handsomely restored Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow saloon exquisitely finished in Velvet Green with
"House of Commons" green hides with hand painted gold fine-lines on the waist-rails and hubcap beauty rings. The
Velvet green colour takes on a very formal and rich hue of green in sunlight and yet in the shade and at night
presents as black. This colour was usually reserved for limousines and Division cars. It is simply stunning.

In many cultures the double green combination is a symbol or prosperity and success and for this reason this car
has been affectionately named; the "Money Car".

This gorgeous Silver Shadow was the subject of considerable refurbishment by The Park-Ward Motor Museum about 2
years. The paint job is stunning and was a bare metal respray of some $20,000 and carried out by Rolls-Royce
experts - Park-Ward's experienced RR body-shop. The paint is perfect without a single stone-chip, scratch or mark.
Not a single one! If you see something in the pictures then it is a dust or dirt speck. Overall, some $42,000 was
spent on her restoration. The car has attended various local shows and won 1st place each time. Make no mistake,
this is a true show car!

When the car was repainted, the windows were removed with new rubbers fitted, including side window finishes. Every
piece of stainless steel was removed and machined buffed and then hand-polished before final assembly so they look
stunning. This includes the grill, headlight brows, rocker spears, hubcaps and minor finishers. Even the door-jam
stainless sill moulds were removed during the painting process and machined buffed. All the tail-lamp and headlight
lenses were replaced for new ones. The fine-lines were painted by steady-hand & squirrel brushes in accordance with
the Rolls-Royce/Bentley tradition.

The interior is like new and is of virtual brochure quality.

The Italian burl walnut wood is immaculate with the dash, console, radio surround, top-roll dash-pad finisher and
all 4 doors having been recently redone by Park-Ward's own craftsmen. The process was done at considerable cost and
in accordance with the Rolls-Royce "multi-layer lacquering technique" which involves painstaking wet sanding and
buffing by hand between coats - no less than 25! The final finish on the wood throughout is simply stunning.

The leather is lovely with no tears or cracks and presents beautifully having been re-Connollised (not the same as
simple re-dying). Any line or marks you see in the photos are the natural creases synonymous with Connolly hide
leather. The leather remains soft and supple. The carpets are the original factory Wilton wool nicely contrasted in
pale sage green to "connect" with the overal Money green them. The headlining is also a very rare choice of subtle
sage green not often seen and is in perfect condition as is all glass and interior finishes. The rear parcel shelf
is in fine original condition.

All features and functions are working; electric windows, electric seats etc. The Air conditioning blows icy cold
with a new compressor having been recently fitted.

Mechanically, this Silver Shadow a very fine example. It has been fully workshop inspected with anything required
doing, attended to by Park-Ward's Rolls-Royce and Bentley mechanics and craftsmen. The engine is smooth and quiet
and the steering light but tight. Important costly items such as the hydraulics and brakes were all fully inspected
and serviced as required. This included checking of all brake hoses and system pressure tested and bled. Many other
serviceable parts were replaced and items attended to and repaired as needed. It is ready to drive and enjoy.

This Rolls-Royce drives particularly well, considerably quieter and smoother than you would normally expect for any
other Shadow of this era. Mileage is not verifiable but commensurate with the car's pre-restoration condition. The
white-wall tyres are the slightly wider type and really set the car off. They have done less than 1,000 miles since
fitting 2 years ago.

All features, functions and electrics have been checked right down to the smallest and insignificant dash and
courtesy light. The car has its original radio and 8-track cassette player.

Stretched Rolls-Royce Cullinan is luxury in excess

Mon, Oct 1 2018

If the Cullinan SUV wasn't Rolls-Royce enough for you before, then this stretched version from Klassen should assuage any of those doubts. Listed for $2.08 million, it's a far cry from the Cullinan's base price of $325,000. Klassen makes a number of stretched luxury vehicles, but this is the first time we've seen the Cullinan get modified like so. As a nod to its customer base, possibly, this long SUV is given the company's highest level of ballistic protection — B7. That means the thickness of the ballistic steel is 14.5 millimeters thick at minimum, providing protection from armor-piercing rifles and ammunition. The stretch measures 40 inches in length, which makes the Rolls look considerably larger, but not unwieldy. Occupants will be treated to the highest of luxuries including an iMac multimedia center (yes, an actual Apple desktop computer), Bang and Olufsen sound system and special ambient LED lighting — all of which is controllable via an iPhone. Klassen also says that the passengers can ride privately behind a "luxury partition wall." Looking at the "wall" in its other creations, it appears to create the ultimate in private riding for when you just can't stand to be interrupted by your driver. Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of the Cullinan's "wall." Its closest competitor is probably the stretched Bentley Bentayga, also made by Klassen. But why go for that when you can have the Rolls SUV instead? Featured video: Featured Gallery Klassen Rolls-Royce Cullinan stretched Auto News Read This Rolls-Royce SUV Luxury

Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Collector's Edition is the ultimate Ghost

Wed, Aug 14 2019

This generation of Rolls-Royce Ghost is coming to a close. We’ve seen a couple of prototypes for the new Ghost out testing in the wild, but it looks like Rolls has one more ace to play on the current car: the Zenith CollectorÂ’s Edition. If youÂ’re an avid Rolls-Royce enthusiast, you may remember that the British marque introduced a Zenith edition of the Phantom in 2016 when that generation of Phantom was wrapping up its 13-year tenure. WeÂ’ve had the current Ghost for about 10 years now, which means a new one is right around the corner. Before itÂ’s finished, Rolls-Royce is screwing together 50 of these Zenith Edition cars. Rolls says these 50 cars “will feature the highest levels of bespoke ever seen on a Ghost Collection car.” ThatÂ’s saying something for a company that will pretty much do anything you ask so long as your bank account can back it up. Take a gander through the photos above to see what the 1 percenters are riding around in these days. Changes to this Ghost versus a regular one are inspired from the 200EX Concept, which was the concept car for the Ghost back in 2009. Each Zenith Edition will house a commemorative ingot made from the 200EXÂ’s Spirit of Ecstasy — itÂ’s melted down, then part of it is being placed into the center console of each of the 50 Zeniths. There is a plaque that explains exactly what it is to anyone wondering. The center console features an engraving of some part of the 200EX Concept. The owner gets to choose exactly what part it is. All the door pockets are illuminated with some rather fantastic-looking lights shining through perforated leather. A special clock and door sill commemorates this Ghost as the Zenith Edition. From the outside, youÂ’ll notice that all Ghost Zenith cars have a two-tone paint scheme with only three options, all shown here. Rolls doesnÂ’t say how much they cost, but it does warn that order books for the Zenith will close imminently. The cars are being manufactured in West Sussex as we speak.

Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail unveiled as the third in a four-car series

Thu, Feb 29 2024

If you're wealthy, you buy a new Rolls-Royce. If you're extremely wealthy, you work directly with the brand to design a one-of-a-kind car from the ground up. The firm has revealed its latest one-off, a convertible named Arcadia Droptail, and detailed the long development process. Built for an anonymous client in Singapore, the Arcadia Droptail borrows the first part of its name from a place known as "heaven on Earth" in Greek mythology. Rolls-Royce explains that the design perfectly reflects the customer's tastes and personality, including a passion for architecture and a subtle, restrained take on the concept of luxury. This likely explains why there's not much in the way of bright trim on the outside; instead, the Arcadia Droptail is characterized by a soft and almost organic design while remaining recognizable as a Rolls-Royce. Working directly with the customer, the brand put a great deal of thought into picking a color: the shade of white chosen is infused with aluminum and glass particles for a pearl-like effect that adds depth. These details help the Arcadia stand out from the two existing Droptail models unveiled in 2023. The overall design remains largely unchanged with an upright grille, thin rear lights, and a rounded back end. Santos Straight Grain wood trim dominates the interior and creates another link between cars and boats. Rolls-Royce explains that this was one of the most challenging parts of the project: Santos Straight Grain is difficult to work with, and the client plans to use the car all around the world so the trim needs to withstand wildly different temperatures and humidity levels. The brand initially considered applying the type of coating used in yachts but ruled it out because it needs to be re-applied on a regular basis. Instead, it went through the trouble of developing a specific lacquer that lasts for the life of the car. It adds that this part of the build required over 8,000 hours of work, including testing. The clock embedded into the dashboard was created in-house as well; it took over two years to develop and five months to make. Referred to as "the most complex Rolls-Royce clock face ever created," it features a guilloche pattern with 119 facets and hand-polished parts. Rolls-Royce hasn't published technical specifications. We're guessing that power comes from a V12 engine. All told, designing the Arcadia Droptail took over four years. There's no word on how much the project cost.
