Rolls-Royce to auction first Dawn in America for charity

Want to get your hands on the first new Rolls-Royce Dawn to reach North America? The automaker will auction off the first of its new convertibles in the US at the Naples Winter Wine Festival in January. All proceeds will go to charity. The Dawn is the new drophead counterpart to the Ghost and Wraith. The four-seat convertible features a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 good for 563 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque, channeled to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission for a 0-62 time of under five seconds. It's a suitable foil to the likes of the Bentley Continental GTC and Mercedes-Benz S-Class convertible. Rolls-Royce introduced the Dawn at the Frankfurt Motor Show just a couple of months ago, and will begin arriving at dealers in April. The example pictured here will be the first to arrive in North America. It'll be outfitted by the Bespoke division in Arctic White with a Deep Red roof and a corresponding interior with Indian Rosewood trim and unique treadplates. It's valued at over $400,000, but bidding will start at $335,000 at the wine fest scheduled for January 29-31 at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, FL. Proceeds from the auction will go towards the Naples Children & Education Foundation. Rolls-Royce rolls out special Al-Adiyat edition in the Middle East

Rolls-Royce regularly makes special editions for one market or another. And lets face it: most of them are in the Middle East, or more specifically along the Persian Gulf. But their names don't always translate well to English, even for an English automaker. The last one, for example, was characterized as a Mysore. And this latest one is for Adiyats. Al-Adiyat is actually what this latest special run of Rolls-Royces are called, taking its name from the Arabic word describing the sound hoofs make when they hit the ground. It's a limited edition of just ten coupes, including nine Wraiths and the one and only Phantom Coupe you see here. The collection takes its inspiration from horses, "with motifs of reigns and horses, while gold-plated horseshoe stamps make a striking statement upon the clock and treadplates." The look is completed (on the Phantom at least) with a bright red paintjob that continues inside with red leather, carpets and headliner. In short, it's not for subtle tastes, but we don't doubt that Rolls will sell each and every one, assuming it hasn't already.

Rolls-Royce shows bespoke Pinnacle Travel Phantom in Beijing

Rolls-Royce is exclusive. Rolls-Royce's Bespoke Collection, though, takes that exclusivity to the highest levels, representing the very finest work that the craftsmen at the company's Goodwood factory are capable of producing. With the Pinnacle Travel Phantom, set to be shown at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Rolls-Royce may have finally outdone itself. Apparently, the puzzling name (as well as the reason it's being shown in Beijing) comes from China's second consecutive year as the largest outbound travel market in the world.
The one-off custom job wears a gorgeous two-tone paint scheme, with a section of Silver Sand and a lot of Madeira Red paint. The intricate coachline includes a few small details that just add to the exterior's specialness.
The cabin, though, is where the work has really been done. It has throw pillows, for crying out loud. Ignoring the silvery poofs on the back seats, the cabin is dominated by Morello Red and Seashell leather, the former of which is on the seats, doors and interior partition. The woodwork, is some of the most beautiful we've seen from Rolls-Royce, which is saying something.
