1986 Rolls Royce Corniche Ii Convertible on 2040-cars
Danville, Illinois, United States
Up for sale is a 1986 Rolls Royce Corniche II Convertible. This was part of a large estate collection and is being offered at the lowest reserve ever for a Corniche II. It was brought out of storage and sent over to Master Rolls in Oak Lawn, IL. Martin the master technician over there went through the car and fixed/serviced/replaced everything it could ever need. The total bill was $11,000 in repairs: Resealed both brake pumps Major Tune Up Oil Change Complete Brake job (rotors, pads, mineral oil) Fuel Filter Air Filter New Battery Fuel line service Rear struts replaced, sealed, oil. Flush brake system Top off all fluids Seals replaced Power Steering replaced I am sure I am missing a few things but those were major items. It now runs, starts, drives, and stops as if it were new. AC even works. All the electronics work. Odometer did just stop working for some reason. I can't figure out why, maybe it will start working again. The car is not driven so the mileage is right around 52,000. Tires look new. Mechanically needs nothing to enjoy. The Corniche spent most of its life in California. It was purchased roughly 10 years ago by the owner. I Have owned it for the last 3 months. Hate to part with it , but have just bought another toy. Comes with the complete manual and documents. I have the receipts for the $11,000 in work as well. Condition of the exterior of the car as you can see looks good in the pictures. The paint is white but, underneath the clear coat it is all spider webbed/cracked. I have no idea how something like this could have happened. It is tough to notice unless you get very close and look. It is very smooth to touch. The red convertible top does have a rip at the bottom driver side corner. Nothing to serious but not perfect. Rims are in great shape no issues. Like I said tires are in great condition. Chrome grill is perfect. The rear bumper has wear on it, the chrome piece has pealed off in a spot. There is a long scratch at the bottom which is pictured. Interior condition is light tan leather with no rips but shows wear as a almost 30 year old car would. Driver side is the worse as to be accepted. Wood is very nice and bright no wear there. Carpet is all red and has no rips and looks very nice. It has one of the thick lambs wool driver side floor mats. Radio works, windows all work, top goes up and down on its own. Heat and AC both work. Power seats work. Has the Nardi signed steering wheel option. Feel free to ask any questions. I am not a dealer so I don't have a shipping company but I can work with anyone's company of choice for shipping out of state or country. $1,000 deposit due within 48 hours. Final payment due within a week. This does have the factory Gold plated spirit of ecstasy and the very nice factory alloy wheels both of these options are very rare. It has the parade boot as well. The car is a great drivers car that does have some cosmetic issues that you can see from the picture but it is in very presentable condition right now and can be a great driver. You can drive it for a few years than put some money into it to make it worth that $60,000 show car. At the price this is being let go at you will be very happy with the purchase. For the work that was just done on the car I do have the current receipts for that which are two receipts. Brake pressure is where it is suppose to be, Drives very smooth and nice down the road, a real pleasure. Thanks for all the bids. Any Other questions just feel free to ask. Rolls-Royce celebrates Maharajas with special Phantom DHC
Fri, 14 Nov 2014A century ago, the princes and maharajas of India shared a relationship with Rolls-Royce that spanned five decades and saw the nobility on the subcontinent commissioning over 840 unique vehicles from the stoic marque. It's that golden age that Rolls-Royce celebrates with the debut of this one-of-a-kind luxury cabriolet.
Based on the Phantom Drophead Coupe, this unique Maharaja edition is distinguished by such special touches as Carrara White paint embellished with a peacock motif, emerald green coachline, a deep green top (hood in UK terminology), light creme leather interior with green accents, marquetry inlays and custom seashell embroidery.
Said to be two years in the making by the Rolls-Royce Bespoke division, this one-off Phantom DHC was unveiled not in India, but in Dubai, where a fascination with the Golden Age of the Raja is evidently alive and well.
Take a look at the shocking Rolls-Royce Next 100 concept
Thu, Jun 16 2016Rolls-Royce showed off its Vision Next 100 concept today in London, giving a look at what its vehicles might look like a century years from now. Each BMW brand will show its own concept this year; BMW's Vision Next 100 concept was an interesting mix of textile-like patterns with stretchy fenders and a very 2010s four-door coupe shape, but this Rolls-Royce concept looks more like a luxury version of a World Solar Challenge racer. The car's official title is 103EX, following the convention of recent Roller concepts. Whereas its BMW counterpart was perhaps a safe, predictable vision of the future, the Rolls is a striking vehicle and a big departure for the brand. Whether it works as a whole for you or not, it represents the kind of stylistic provocation that made ex-BMW stylist Chris Bangle a household name. While the early Bangle cars were extremely controversial, this Rolls concept is clearly the heir of his penchant for sharply creased character lines. Call the rocker panel crease flame surfacing if you want. The floating headlamps and blade-edged verticality of the fenders are classic Rolls: imposing and visually heavy, without necessarily being classically beautiful. The square, flat grille is, to my eyes, much less successfully integrated. It seems like Rolls had the perfect opportunity to evolve the trademark grille into something more contemporary. In 100 years, the brand will still need to lean on this sort of anachronism? That seems short-sighted. We'll have more on this concept from our man on the ground in London later today. Rolls-Royce to decide on SUV by year's end
Fri, Jan 9 2015The market for high-end luxury SUVs continues to climb, but Rolls-Royce is in no huge rush to jump on the leather-clad, high-riding bandwagon. The company has just announced a new sales record for the fifth year running, with over 4,000 units delivered in 2014. But it recognizes that SUVs are where the market is going, so it's going to carefully weigh its options, and make a decision on how to proceed by the end of 2015. This according to Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos in speaking with Auto Express. "There is not yet a final decision, because we still need to answer a couple of questions ourselves," said Muller-Otvos in regard to a potential SUV, admitting, "You need to move the brand from time to time, you need to go with the flow. We might even see in a few years that the classical sedan segments are shrinking due to the fact that SUV type vehicles are growing. So if you don't change your product portfolio to something that is up to date then at some point in time you might even die." If the storied Goodwood-based marque does proceed with an SUV, it would be following former sister-company Bentley into the segment. But they're not the only ones. Mercedes is said to be preparing a Maybach version of the next GL-Class, Jaguar Land Rover keeps making increasingly expensive and luxurious Range Rovers, and Maserati is preparing to launch its Levante crossover. The prospect of an SUV isn't the only project Rolls-Royce has in the works, though. It's got a convertible version of the Wraith coming soon, and sooner or later there will be a replacement for the thirteen-year-old Phantom saloon, potentially to include some carbon fiber in its construction to help trim weight. A hybrid powertrain could be in the mix as well, though customers have shunned the idea of a pure electric model. Just don't expect a Rolls-Royce more accessible than the Ghost: the company is glad to be growing its sales, but is not chasing any specific sales targets that would press it to cheapen the brand by going down-market.
