2012 Ram 2500 Big Horn 4x4 pickup. One owner truck, 4,450 easy miles. Cummins 6.7 Liter High Output Turbo Diesel engine. 350bhp/800 ft-pounds of torque. 6 speed automatic transmission with a Tow/Haul Mode that shifts perfect and very firm. Engine and Suspension are completely stock and original. Body and paint are immaculate. 4 years, 4 months/95,xxx miles of 5/100k powertrain warranty from factory remaining. 2 years,4 months/31,xxx miles factory 3yr/36k bumper to bumper warranty remaining. Also have a 5 year/70,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty with the truck with 4 years,4 months/66,xxx miles remaining! This Truck is not driven daily it is a third vehicle and is mostly used to pick up the 6 year old from elementary school. First oil change completed by the local RAM dealer. This Ram has a 34 gallon fuel tank, Heavy Duty engine cooling, Protection Group with Transfer Case Skid Plate and dual 730-Amp Batteries.

I added 35" General Grabber tires to the factory polished 17" wheels. These come with a lifetime Road Hazard Warranty and balance/rotation through Sears Auto Center. These are 10- ply off road tires (most tires are 4-6 ply) that are super tough so you'll never need the warranty most likely! They handle good with no squirm and are not very noisy. Have only tried them off road once getting a bed full of bags of soil and mulch to my family's shed in the backyard on a rainy night. No slip at all in the wet grass in 4wd lock. There is some tire rub at full right lock so a leveling kit would be a good idea if you keep the tires on. I will also include the stock Firestone Destination XL tires in the sale. They have 1,200 miles and are mint.

This truck has the 6 foot 4 inch bed which gives the shortest wheelbase for the 4 door Crew Cab Heavy Duty Ram. Perfect for being more nimble in parking and turning situations. It is quite nimble compared to the MegaCab and 8 foot long bed models that have an over 20 inch longer wheelbase. My last truck was a Ram MegaCab and this one is so much easier to drive and park. The big 24 valve Cummins runs so smooth and quiet and gets to speed effortlessly. This 2011.5-2012 model generation is very desirable to many. These are the last modern diesels that do not need DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) added to the vehicle every so often. DEF costs up to $6.00 a gallon unless you get it at a big rig truck stop that sells it at the pump. The new PowerStroke Ford, GM Duramax and 2013-up Cummins require this urea fluid to run. If the tank goes dry on a new 2013-2014 Ram CTD it will go into limp mode and not be able to drive past 5 mph. There are no worries like that with this 2012 model! The 2012 is also the last model that people who will use their trucks "off road only" can simply delete all the emissions equipment with a tuner or with "sims" for better fuel mileage and performance.

It handles firm like a sports car with its Heavy Duty stiffer suspension tuning. It has big 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS, Electronic Traction Control, Hill Assist and Stability Control for safety. This truck has dual Front AirBags and dual Front and Rear Head Curtain and Side Impact AirBags for safety. The 4 wheel Drive Transfer Case is electronic can shift on the fly with 2WD, 4WD Lock, 4WD Low and Neutral options. This model also has a Diesel Exhaust Brake which helps keep the turbo clean from soot and helps make towing safer. I have not done any towing with this truck but this is the truck for it if needed with factory 7-Pin and 4-Pin trailer connectors. The truck also has the great Power Heated T-Tow mirrors that fold in and can be flipped vertically. I also have a 5" drop Reese TowPower Hitch that is brand new ready to go included with the sale.

The interior has the Premium Cloth Bucket Seats with Center and Overhead Console. There is plenty of storage space with a dual compartment Center Console and a Lower and Upper Glove Box. The materials are very high quality. Ram has come a long way in the past few years. It still smells new inside. Carpeted RAM Floor Mats are included as is a Power Driver's Seat, with Power Lumbar and a folding rear bench 60/40 seat. There is storage space under the rear seat which is convenient. This Truck has a Leather Wrapped Tilt Steering Wheel with Wheel Mounted Audio Controls and an LCD display Trip Computer/Information Display in the gauge cluster with oil pressure, trans temp, instant and average fuel economy, compass and more. This vehicle also has Auto Headlamps, Fog Lamps which I added yellow tint 3M protection tape, Cruise Control, cold A/C, and the UConnect 130 MP3/CD player with Sirius/XM radio. Also includes Power one touch down/up Front Windows, Power Locks, Remote Start, Tinted Glass, Remote Keyless Entry, Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System, Glove Box Lamp and a Power Sliding Rear Window. For piece of mind I added a locking Polished Fuel Cap from StylinTrucks. It wasn't cheap but it was well worth it. This isn't a flimsy AutoZone pot-metal plated fuel door but quite heavy duty door with a sturdy lock and thick polished design with 2 keys. I also am including the stock Fuel Door with the Truck. It also has a locking Tailgate.

If you are looking for a gently used nearly new Ram Heavy Duty that is ready to go here is your Truck. Buy from the original owner with a 100% guarantee of no wrecks, hail damage, floods or repossessions like you might find at many dealers. You will save thousands with no sales tax here in Georgia to be paid or ridiculous $475-$1000 dealer fees! NADAguides lists this Ram for $43,775 retail and Edmunds lists the retail value at $43,878. I am listing for $43,500 and feel free to make an offer. This includes two sets of tires and a full tank of fresh Diesel fuel to get you home! Good luck with your search and thanks for reading!

FCA looking into Ram-based SUV, midsize pickup

Thu, Jul 21 2016

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is looking into manufacturing a large SUV based on the Ram 1500 pickup truck's current platform, reports USA Today. If built, the SUV would compete against the Chevrolet Tahoe and could even spawn a smaller pickup. Ram already has most of the bases covered with its current lineup, but a smaller pickup truck would allow it to enter the booming midsize pickup segment where it would compete with the segment-leading Toyota Tacoma along with the Chevy Colorado and GMC, which are the newest entries. Mike Manley, head of Fiat Chrysler's Jeep and Ram brands, told USA Today that the current platform found in the Ram 1500 could be utilized for a body-on-frame SUV. With a large SUV, FCA would be able to capitalize on the ever-growing SUV market and go toe-to-toe with General Motors (GM) and Ford. The next-generation of Ram pickup trucks is expected to go on sale in early 2018, which would put a large SUV close behind. In an attempt to increase the automaker's production capacity, FCA also plans to move Ram's current production facility from Warren to Sterling Heights, MI. With Jeep continually posting healthy numbers, it makes perfect sense for FCA to build more SUVs. GM currently uses the same platform on a plethora of its SUVs with good results, which makes FCA's proposed plan a viable option. Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015

Tue, Feb 11 2014

Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper. For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011. The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors. While the adoption of SAE J2807 will be helpful for light-duty customers, those interested in bigger trucks will still be left with differing standards. There is no sign of the new tow standards being adopted for the heavy-duty market.

Only in Japan: Dodge van one-make racing series is a thing

Wed, Jul 15 2015

Japan seems willing to embrace a level of automotive insanity that many other places lack. Whether it's 1,200-horsepower Nissan GT-Rs blasting through tight, tree-lined mountain roads or advertisements with dances for the Toyota Prius Plug-in, the country definitely has a unique way of expressing a love for autos. The D-Van Grand Prix might be one of our favorite examples yet of crazy Japanese car culture, because the annual, one-make race at the Ebisu Circuit is exclusively for heavily customized Dodge vans. Like many great things, this wonderfully crazy idea came from a little rule breaking. D-Van Grand Prix organizer Takuro Abe was at a track event for a motorcycle racing school, and vans were used to haul the bikes around. During lunch someone came up with the idea for a race. Ignoring that the big machines weren't actually allowed on the circuit, the drivers headed out. The popularity has just grown since then. These days, the racing vans absolutely aren't the stock machines from the event's inspiration. In addition to stripped interiors and track rubber that you might expect, the list of mods for them is a mile long. For every possible advantage, the racers fit them with things like Brembo brakes, cross-drilled rotors, heavy-duty transmissions, and much more. Seeing vans lumbering around the track is very weird at first, but the racers take the competition very seriously. These folks even employ all sorts of little tricks to coax the most from the machines. This is a fascinating motorsports story, but be sure to turn on the subtitles to understand the interviews with the competitors.
