Porsche in Paul Walker fatal accident was traveling over 100 mph before crash

The Porsche Carrera GT involved in the November crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas was traveling at speeds above 100 miles per hour before Rodas lost control for "unknown reasons," according to a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office that has been acquired by The Hollywood Reporter.
Once control was lost, the Porsche spun, hit a curb and then impacted a tree and a light post, then it spun 180 degrees and hit another tree before erupting in flames, the report said. Neither Walker nor Rodas were under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, according to toxicology reports conducted by the coroner.
As for the future of the Fast and Furious franchise, a separate by The Hollywood Reporter claims director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal Studios will move forward with the seventh installment in the franchise, which was only partially completed when Walker was killed.

Porsche calling in two Cayennes

We regularly see recalls addressing all manner of problems (or potential problems) affecting any number of vehicles: hundreds, thousands, even millions. Some are too small to bother reporting, but once in a while one comes along that's so ridiculously small that we couldn't pass it over. Like this latest one from Porsche. "Due to a manufacturing error," says the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the notice below, "the suspension alignment on the front and rear axles may not have been performed correctly and the screw connections of the camber, toe and caster may not have been tightened with the specified torque." The recall affects the 2015 Cayenne... but just how many of them, you ask? Two. Not two hundred, not two thousand, but two: one Cayenne Diesel and one Cayenne S, manufactured between November 26 and... November 27, 2014. That very well might make this the most methodically German recall in the history of recalls. If you happen to be the owner of one of those two vehicles, expect to hear from Porsche with instructions to bring your Cayenne in to have the suspension re-aligned and the screws tightened. Porsche Macan teaser reveals unique quad-LEDs

In truth, all-but-undisguised prototypes for the upcoming Porsche Macan compact crossover have been spotted galavanting all around the globe for some time now, but even the least-camouflaged examples have been caught wearing eyepatches covering their headlights and taillights. A dark new teaser image from Porsche clues us in to why that is - the baby Cayenne is getting unique quad-LED peepers up front.
Porsche has been hinting at lighting innovations in its production cars through recent concept reveals, including the stunning Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo showcar from last year's Paris Motor Show. The wagonized Panamera also featured four-point LED arrays up front, as well is in the rear, so it seems likely that this lighting will become a Porsche design signature going forward.
Powerpoint slides leaked from a recent dealer meeting suggest the Macan S will arrive packing a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6, while the Macan Turbo will boast a 3.6-liter force-fed unit, with both models receiving seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearboxes. Pricing is expected to range from $52,000 for the S model to $75,000 for the Turbo.
