2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Sport Utility 4-door 4.5l on 2040-cars
Saline, Michigan, United States
Your looking at a clean 2004 Cayenne Turbo. The engine is smooth, no valve train or abnormal engine noise. The previous owner replaced the following; 106,868 fuel pumps, 112,819 a/c blower motor, 122,659 transmission torque converter seal, 123,559 Driveshaft. As of my ownership (131,597) I replaced/upgraded the following; Coolant pipes, starter, Fabspeed intakes, lowering suspension links, GTS style 20" wheels (these are aftermarket) and the battery. I drove this thru the first winter then at 138,049 miles the driver side turbo started whining so I decided to upgrade; The following have around 2359 miles on them.... Rebuilt/upgraded turbos (larger compressor wheel and machining the housing), Fabspeed hi-flow primary cats, Fabspeed ECU programming, upgraded by-pass valves, cleaned/blueprinted injectors, IPD intake plenum, new Porsche brake rotors/pads all around, LED tail lights. Boost stays above .8 bar all through the rpm range. Power is easily over 500hp, and tuned for 93 octane,. Engine, all diffs and transfer case have a fresh oil changes. Overall fast, smooth and does not drive like it has just over 140k on it. I have replaced many of the items that are prone to fail with this mileage. Take note, there are Porsche and non-Porsche parts used to repair and modify this Cayenne. I do not have the original Navigation CD's, and only one remote key fob. I disconnected the headlight washers as the pass side one leaks out the washer fluid. There are two small cracks under the bottom of the front bumper and a half dollar size paint blemish on the pass side front bumper. You also get the ugly factory 18" turbo wheels with winter tires (only one winter on them). As the gauge picture shows, no service lights or problems. The Michigan title is clear, no rebuilt or salvage issues, sold as is. |

Porsche stalls on Ferrari 458 rival
Mon, 17 Nov 2014A few years ago, reports surfaced that Porsche was planning a new supercar. But the latest intel suggests that the plan has been put indefinitely on the back burner.
The project alternately referred to as 960 or 988 was put forth by CEO Matthias Müller shortly after he assumed control of the German automaker. It called for a mid-engined V8 supercar to slot in between the 911 and the 918 Spyder to take on the likes of the Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren 650S and sister-company Lamborghini's Gallardo and subsequent Huracán.
Now three years since the idea was first mooted, the vehicle has yet to materialize. According to Autocar, Porsche is putting a greater emphasis on refreshing its existing lineup. Which is probably just as well, because the mid-engined supercar would have a heck of a challenge on its hands to differentiate itself in terms of performance from the 911 GT3 and 911 Turbo, which already give the 458 and company a run for their money.
Magnus Walker soliloquizes in his Porsche 911 at night
Fri, 23 Aug 2013Magnus Walker, a prolific Los Angeles clothing designer who has also carved out a respected spot for himself in Porsche world, has had yet another video made about him and his sizable Porsche collection. In this latest video, Hong Kong-based Obscura magazine focuses its video cameras on Walker and his 1971 Porsche 911 track car (yes, the one that appeared on Jay Leno's Garage) as he speeds around Downtown LA and Little Tokyo late at night.
We've heard Walker's story many times before. He's not like the average Porsche owner, perhaps a tad more passionate than most, and he builds 911s like he designs clothes: his way. Sure, we might be a little envious, but can you blame us? View this very slick and entertaining nighttime video entitled Disturbing The Peace below.
Porsche announces four flavors of updated Cayenne [w/video]
Thu, Jul 24 2014The new Macan may be getting all the attention lately, but Porsche hasn't forgotten about its larger crossover – the one that put it on the map in 2002 and on the road to profitability, with over half a million sold so far. So to keep the Cayenne at the top of its game, Porsche has announced several key upgrades for the 2015 model. For starters, Porsche has updated the Cayenne's appearance with new front- and rear-end styling. The front bumper, fenders and hood are entirely new, with air fins flanking the nose to direct air into the intercoolers (each model now being artificially aspirated), and new bi-xenon headlamps and daytime running LEDs on every model but the Turbo, which goes all-LED. Around back there's also new taillights, tailgate handle, lower rear fascia and exhaust pipes. Meanwhile the interior has been upgraded with a 918-derived sport steering wheel and reformed rear seats with available ventilation. The bigger news is under the engine bay, where Porsche is offering four choices. The base model is gone as the range starts with the Cayenne Diesel, followed by the Cayenne S, the new Cayenne S E-Hybrid and the top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo. The Diesel model carries over the same 3.0-liter turbo diesel with 240 horsepower. The Cayenne S however packs a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 that's similar to the one found in the Macan Turbo and packs the same 406 lb-ft of torque but more power at 420 hp, 20 more than either its little brother or the model it replaces to reach 62 mph in 5.2 seconds. The new Cayenne S E-Hybrid makes Porsche the world's only car manufacturer to offer three plug-in hybrid models. Porsche has also ported over the powertrain from the Panamera S E-Hybrid to make what Porsche refers to as "the first plug-in hybrid in the premium SUV segment" and, along with the 918 Spyder, make it (almost unbelievably) "the world's only car manufacturer to offer three plug-in hybrid models" (unless, of course, you count the Opel/Vauxhall Ampera as separate from the Chevy Volt and Cadillac ELR). The system mates a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with 333 hp to an electric motor with 95 hp to give it a combined output of 416 hp (more than the diesel and almost as much as the S) to propel it to 62 in 5.4 seconds, hit an all-electric top speed of 78 mph and an all-out top speed of 151 mph – offering a substantial improvement over the previous Cayenne S Hybrid.
