For sale is an absolutely amazing Porsche RS 60 Spyder Boxster S. This car is # 1679 of only 1960 RS 60 Spyders ever made! In very many person's opinion the Spyder RS 60 is THE best Boxster that will very likely ever be produced. Well maintained, and always garaged. This RS 60 is loaded with all options, (truly too many options/features to list...a lot of which are exclusive to this rare model, including the Aero package). Ext paint is GT Silver Metallic. Interior colour is Carrera red (full leather). Seat backs painted colour of car. Porsche crest on leather seats. It has a red convertible top as well. This car has the most desired configuration for the Boxster Spyder; 6 speed, 3.4 litre engine, GT Silver ext., Carrera red full leather interior, red convertible top, Spyder 19" wheels with Porsche crest, and the ground effects Aero package. This truly great car also has heated seats, selectable sport suspension (regarding the SPORT PLUS button.... When this is pressed, optional Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) switches to ‘Sport’ mode for harder damping and more direct steering and therefore, even more intensive road holding, selectable special muffler system which makes the engine really roar (if you are in the mood). Switch is on the dash to raise or lower the rear spoiler. High end Bose sound system. Special Edition plaque on dash showing this car is #1679 of only 1960 Spyders which will ever be produced. This Boxster has the very fast manual 6 speed gearbox to compliment it's 3.4 litre 24 valve DOHC power plant, and 19" Spyder wheels! The car has under 30,000 miles on it. It has new rear Michelin sport tires. This car is in excellent condition. All original manuals in pristine condition. Never used on a race track. Porsche boss admits Panamera's style is offputting
Sat, 11 Oct 2014
"There have been some small mistakes and we will do it better. For example the design could be better." - Matthias Mueller.
The design of the Porsche Panamera has been divisive, to say the least. Pretty much any Porsche with four doors was going to draw the ire of enthusiasts, but the fast-back-style roofline, prominent curves and seemingly never-ending hood have particularly irked some brand loyalists.
Porsche Cayenne diesel V8 may not be long for this world
Fri, Jan 23 2015Goodbye, Porsche Cayenne V8 Diesel. We hardly knew ye. Nor did the Europeans, apparently. Porsche's V8 oil burner is still on the European model list for the Cayenne SUV, but the mill won't go through the likely pricey process of being updated to adhere to new and stricter European emissions standards, Just-Auto says. A Porsche spokesman confirmed to the publication that it's a fairly complicated process to update the diesel V8 to be so-called "Euro-6 compliant." With Cayenne diesels selling in relatively low volumes anyways, the German automaker might just dump the V8 diesel altogether, as it'd be quite cost-ineffective to make the necessary upgrades. The V8 diesel was a 4.1-liter engine that delivered 385 horsepower in addition to what sounds like a little too much exhaust for European clean-air regulators. While that's a pretty powerful profile, the most recent gas-powered V8 for the Cayenne delivers about 570 horsepower, so the diesel engine won't likely be missed by European auto enthusiasts. Besides, there's still the V6 diesel that's also sold in the US. That's a 4,800-pound beast that moves from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about seven seconds and gets a relatively (for diesels) modest 20 miles per gallon city. For those who are curious, Autoblog's First Drive review of that model can be found here.
Porsche releases new images of LMP1 racecar
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Porsche has released another batch of images of its LMP1 competitor preparing for its debut season in 2014. This isn't the first we've seen of the new car, as June saw four images of the new racer undergoing testing. Where those images looked merely like someone taking pics during the test, the 11 new images seen above have all the hallmarks of highly polished PR shots.
That aside, the camo-covered cars still provide another look at what the new LMP1 car will look like when it arrives next season. The taillights follow the example set by Audi, by vertically mounting ultra-thin LEDs on the tips of the rear wing, while the LED headlights sport the four-prong look that Porsche has been pushing of late. Besides those two items, its difficult to make out many details due to the amount of camo.
Porsche's LMP1 effort will be focused on the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will see the revered brand return to the top flights of the 24 Hours Of Le Mans with F1 ace Mark Webber behind the wheel. As we've mentioned before, the German brand has set up a dedicated microsite that will cover its newest racer's progress.
