For sale is my 12 month old 2014 Boxster S and the car only has 6,287 miles on it. This car is basically a Boxster Sypder with a power top (that can be operated up to 30 mph), more modern electronics, and over 3 years left on the warranty. I am the original owner, and intended to keep it for a long time. Then, Porsche released the GT4 and I couldn’t resist, thus, the Boxster S must go. The car has never been tracked nor autocrossed, street driven only. Finish is gorgeous as it has clear bra on all the critical parts. The car has been in no accidents and has had no paintwork. The only ‘apology’ on the car is a small dimple on the rear bumper where a valet was careless. It is not very noticeable and I tried to photograph it. I’m told it can be fixed with a hair dryer and some skill but haven’t pursued it. The car is perfectly equipped with all of the sport options and just enough comfort options to make your trip a pleasant journey. It is Sapphire blue with a black, full leather interior. The details are as follows: Sport Options: -X73 Sports Suspension- right from the Spyder. Comfort and razor sharp handling. What all Boxsters should have. Lowers the car 20mm, gives it a means look and less of the “truck-like” wheel gap stock boxsters have. More comfortable than my BMW 1M’s suspension. Porsche engineering at it’s finest. -PCCB- Ceramic brakes. These things are the ultimate for a street car. Their ultra-light weight makes the car feel lighter on its feet. Quicker transient response, better throttle feel, less impact harshness over bumps, and of course, the most amazing stopping power known to man. You almost NEVER see these on a Boxster, only on the big dog turbo and GT cars but in this application, they are stunning. -Porsche Torque Vectoring- Mechanical limited slip differential with active handling that eliminates understeer in tight turns. Car turns in, NOW. -Sports Chrono- Not useless in this car as it included dynamic transmission mounts, a sports plus mode with a hyper-responsive throttle mapping, quicker steering calibration, and rev-matched downshifts. Everybody is Shumacher with this setting on. Oh yeah, and the stopwatch. -Sports seats plus- Mandatory in a car with that can pull 1.2g in the turns on street tires. Comfort and Convenience options: -Full extended leather interior- Because this is still a luxury car and should look like one. Bumps the interior to 911 level, both in terms of touch and that lovely leather smell! -Convenience package- Dual zone automatic climate control, and heated seats, critical for extending the top down cruising season -Ventilated Seats- Cools your bum on those hot summer days. See above about extending the top down season -Heated Steering Wheel- A gem of an option, keeps your hands toasty warm, again, extending the top down season -CDR Plus- Gives you a 225 watt, 7 speaker sound system with a high resolution 7 inch touch screen. Includes HD Radio, Sirius XM, Aux-In, USB in for iPod etc..., and provides for bluetooth streaming. This system sounds awesome for when you gotta have those tunes. -Smokers package-I am NOT a smoker and no one has EVER smoked in this car but this gives you an extra 12V outlet and a neat, clean cover over the opening in the center console bin. Car Protection: -XPEL Ultimate Clear Bra- Professionally wrapped full hood, full fenders, front bumper, headlights (all edges wrapped underneath so you can’t tell it’s there), A-pillars, mirrors, lower rocker panels, in front and behind the rear wheels. This is over $2,000 in clear bra folks. Gives you peace of mind that your work of art is protected from that truck in front of you. Original MSRP of the car was $82,305 (not including the cost of the clear bra). The car has a full three years of warranty left on it. The transaction for the car will be conducted through my local dealer, Princeton Porsche so the transaction is easy, safe, and bullet-proof for both parties. If you want to try to negotiate CPO with them, that is up to you but I have no power to negotiate that. I guarantee you will never see a Boxster with this level of equipment (Boxsters with PCCB are true Unicorns) in this perfect condition unless you spec it from new (I did just that and you can see, I sweated the details!). Save lots of money and own this gorgeous car (I'd keep two but my wife says no).

Force India F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg will drive a Porsche at Le Mans

Mon, Dec 1 2014

Sahara Force India Formula One driver Nico Hulkenberg is officially part of the Porsche factory team for next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans; the last time a current F1 driver got permission from his team to compete in the world's biggest endurance race was in 2009 when Toro Rosso let Sebastien Bourdais pilot for Peugeot. That will make it an even busier May and June for Hulkenberg, who will get to know the 919 Hybrid in race trim by driving the 6 Hours of Spa on May 2. He'll follow that with two F1 races in May, then do the Le Mans practice day on May 31, race for Force India at the Canadian Grand Prix on June 7, be in action for Porsche at Le Mans the next weekend, then back in a Force India the following weekend in Austria. Hulkenberg is the first driver to be named for Porsche's third LMP1 in next year's race, and we already know that former F1 colleague Mark Webber will be in one of the other cars. The other two drivers joining the German haven't been named yet, but speculation is that Porsche GT drivers in the manufacturer team are on the shortlist. Numerous observers also think it could be a suitable job for a certain Englishman who might have competed in his last race for McLaren...

Porsche 911 GT3 RS getting all-new atmospheric engine

Thu, Jan 15 2015

Porsche surprised many of its most puritanical enthusiasts when it took a decidedly more usable approach with the current 911 GT3. But when the new GT3 RS debuts, it promises to be a much more extreme departure. And a big part of that comes down to the engine. At the Detroit Auto Show this week, Auto Express spoke with Porsche R&D chief Wolfgang Hatz – who also happens to be head of engine and transmission development for the entire Volkswagen group. Hatz revealed that Porsche has developed a completely new engine for the GT3 RS, and while previous rumors suggested the RS would go turbo to fill in for the lack of a GT2 (and make the most out of its displacement), Hatz confirmed that it will be naturally aspirated. Considering that Porsche rarely goes downwards when it comes to 911 engine displacement, only upwards, we'd expect the new RS to pick up where the previous 4.0 left off. The new GT3 RS is also expected to pack a more extreme suspension, aero and stripped-out interior, but those hoping for an old-school approach may be disappointed to learn that the new RS will (at least at launch) only be available with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission – though a manual version could follow if there's enough demand. In a related development, Hatz also hinted that the Cayman GT4 could debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, with an even more extreme approach than the previous Cayman R. The new top-of-the-line Cayman is reportedly being developed to comply with GT4 class racing regulations but be fully homologated for road use. Related Video:

Porsche Cayman GT4 spot has us reaching for our driving gloves

Wed, Feb 4 2015

We've got to hand it to Porsche for finally unleashing the potential of the Cayman, and not worrying about it infringing on 911 territory. The latest Cayman is, by all accounts, a superb sports car in its own right, gets even better as the Cayman S and that much more so in GTS spec. But the new Cayman GT4 takes things to a whole other level with a 3.8-liter flat six driving 385 horsepower to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual. Old school is what it is, and certifiably off the leash. We brought you the full skinny on the new GT4 late last night when it surfaced, but now Porsche has released a video clip highlighting what makes its new pocket rocket look so great. It's got Nurburgring graffiti, intimidated neighbors, barking fluffy dogs, gape-jawed children, and of course footage of the Cayman GT4 itself doing what it was designed to do. All we need now is to get our driving gloves on its Alcantara steering wheel and ball-shaped shifter.
