Up for auction is a 2003 Porsche Boxster S that we just finished. This Boxster only has 52k miles and drives excellent. This vehicle does have salvage title history. It was previously lightly damaged in the right front. Items replaced include the right fender, bumper cover and the right headlight. We changed the entire cooling pod (radiators) on the right side to be safe but the cooling systems had their fluids in them. Porsche vehicles are very sensitive to accidents so even though the damage was light, the two dash airbags deployed. We replaced them with quality used items from our inventory and reset the warning light. There are no warning codes or issues with any of the electrical systems. The car has had all the necessary safety inspections including alignment and is ready to go.

The replacement parts were professionally painted and blended to match the rest of the vehicle. The soft top shows some wear marks (pictured) but is still in good shape. This particular Boxster did not come with a hardtop when we received it from the auction. We had a hardtop here and had it painted to match the car. There were a few imperfections (nicks) in the original hardtop paint that the painter missed when he painted it so you can see them if you look for them (just thought we should mention them). The interior is in excellent condition and the Bose speaker system with the sub woofer box in the rear really sounds awesome. The previous owner must have been a Porsche enthusiast because the tires are Michelin Pilot sports and they have a lot of tread left on them.

We do our best to disclose any imperfections or issues with any and all of our vehicles but if you have any questions please contact us.

We are holding a California Salvage Certificate on this vehicle, if you are from outside of California or another Country, this title and a bill of sale will be provided at the time of payment. Another Option is to register the vehicle as a Title Only, which means, we would register the vehicle to the buyer (out of state) with his or her name and address, the California Title with "salvage" history, will then be mailed directly to the buyer. The vehicle would still not be registered for driving, but some states require different types of title. Please check with your local DMV to see what paperwork is required.

If you are a California Buyer and or plan to register this vehicle in California, we are required to submit this certificate to DMV and they will issue a number that revives the title (stating prior history "Salvage". A bill of sale and this number written on a bill of sale with the necessary safety document to register the car will be provided.

This vehicle is ready to go but that does not mean you can fly in and drive it home. If the sale takes place in California we are required to collect sales tax. The only way to avoid paying sales tax is to have the vehicle transported by a licensed vehicle transport company. A bill of lading showing our address and a delivery address out of state must be shown. If you have any questions, please let us know.

See what the Chevy C7 ZR1 may be benchmarked against

Tue, 07 May 2013

One of the greatest things every Corvette has had going for it, and also one of the most re-used arguments against it, is its price-to-performance equation - long before the Nissan GT-R became the de facto Porsche 911 comparator the Corvette spent decades as Exhibit A. Depending on which side of the argument you stressed, supporters crowed about how much performance you got for how (comparatively) little, detractors carped on how little you got everywhere else in the bargain.
It appears Chevrolet is working as hard as ever to render the argument meaningless. Spy shooters at KGP captured a convocation of European birds of prey leaving the General Motors test center, and aimed at benchmarking the C7 Corvette ZR1. The road train comprised of two C7 Corvette Stingrays, a 2013 Corvette ZR1, McLaren MP4-12C, Ferrari 458 Italia, Audi R8 V10 Spyder and Porsche 911 Carrera S and it was last seen heading down the same kinked-up back roads used to hone the Corvette Stingray.
The C7-series ZR1 and its possible 700 horsepower are still a ways off. If it really is being positioned to compete with the celestial exotica in the testing group, could it be the first Corvette to regularly be the first answer to the question "Cost no object, which would would you rather have?"

Translogic 166: Porsche 918 Spyder

Mon, Dec 15 2014

In the same month that Porsche announced that its 918 Spyder is sold out, Translogic is getting its first (and likely last) shot at the plug-in hybrid hypercar. Our drive starts off in a very civilized fashion as we tour the 918 Spyder's e-power and hybrid modes, but the fun really starts when the naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 engine roars to life in sport and race hybrid modes, augmenting the electric motors with an additional 608 horsepower for a total of 887. We even attempt an impromptu 0-60 test to see if we can match Porsche's gobsmacking official time of 2.5 seconds, but sadly we don't have the room to make a run on its 214-mph top speed. Watch as Translogic host Jonathon Buckley pilots this Porsche around an airstrip in Irvine, CA, with a focus on the many driving modes that set the 918 Spyder apart from anything else in the storied automaker's history. Porsche Classic launching branded motor oil for air-cooled boxer engines

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

It's hard not to love the look of a classic Porsche. Whether it's the upside-down bathtub styling of the 356 or the gradual evolution of the 911, there is a little beauty in all of them. However, the older they get, the more that needs repaired to keep them on the road. Porsche Classic is helping out, though, by introducing its own brand of motor oil for the demands of the company's vintage, air-cooled engines.
Developed at the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach, Germany, Porsche Classic Motoroil comes in two weights - 20W-50 for the 356, 914 and 911 models up to the 2.7-liter G-Model and 10W-60 for 3.0-liters-and-up engines through the 993-chassis 911. The company claims that the air-cooled engines have different heat demands than traditional, water-cooled units, and this oil is made to meet those requirements.
According to Porsche, modern, synthetic oils are sometimes too effective when it comes to old engines. They are fantastic at sopping up debris, but those deposits are often holding archaic seals together. Suddenly removing them can cause leaks. The new oil is specifically designed to work with the old-fashioned materials found in its classics. The company also knows that most owners aren't driving their vintage cars everyday. So this formulation is more alkaline that normal to neutralize acids that they build up and corrode components.
