Great condition 2002 PORSCHE BOXSTER S with only 62,660 miles.

I am NOT A DEALER, and this car WAS NOT BOUGHT AT AUCTION.  This is my toy - my garage queen to be exact as it was only used in nice weather and garaged when not driven.  I have spared no expense in servicing the car and doing all recommended steps to insure it operates at the highest level of performance. This car is super clean (I'm third owner), kept in the garage and have invested over $10,000 in preventative & regular service maintenance.  I'm so protective of the car that the gas tank is always full to avoid condensation in the tank. The Boxster is perfect if you're looking to buy a car from a person who took care of it like they were going to keep it forever.....then this is the car as until today as I intended on keeping it forever.

I'm selling the car after 4 great years of enjoyment because my children are now wanting to drive with me and two seats just aren't enough, so changing to a 911 Cabriolet (If I can find one with a IMS retrofit so the engine does not seize - see IMS Problem on Porsche Boxster/911 below)


The Porsche is accident free with a clean Carfax and comes 
in a very desirable color combination Seal Grey Metallic exterior, Grey interior and matching Grey Convertible Top.  The paint looks great aside from normal wear.  Please note pics denoting any scratches.

The interior is in excellent condition with very minor signs of wear and is a smoke free car.  All parts, components and options(Power Windows, AC, Cruise, etc, etc. is all in working order without issue)

The soft top is in great shape and has only very minimal signs of wear.  The rear window was replaced in 2010.

The Boxster S has no known mechanical issues and everything works as it should.

18'' stock wheels are in great condition and tires were installed at $56,000 miles(only 6K miles of wear)

Have all service records from my purchase date in 2010 to today, including the receipt for IMS Retrofit for the engine - to avoid and insure against IMS Failure.  I loved the Boxster S and made the $5,000 investment to have the IMS Retrofit Kit installed by a certified Porsche service center(Body Motion in Ocean NJ) to avoid any problems as I was going to keep this car forever.....(until my kids changed everything)

In addition to above - I've changed many parts that are part of the normal wear of the vehicle and also completed the 60,000 mile service including tune up, timing belt, etc.    

Car is paid for and title is in hand.  Be sure to ask this when speaking to other sellers, as when I was looking to buy in 2010, I was amazed at how many people did not have their Titles.(Was held by bank, leasing company, former spouse, etc.) Protect yourself.


IMS Failures - 1997-2008 Boxsters & 911 - Regardless of where you buy your Boxster - do your homework and protect yourself.  When I started looking for a used Boxster S in 2010 I noticed "Private Sellers" discussing IMS Problems and solutions.  I Googled "IMS Problems Porsche Boxster" and found an alarming problem- if left unresolved, the IMS issue occurring in these engines will turn your beautiful Porsche into a $20,000+ paperweight in your garage.  Google for yourself or I can email you links to IMS issues and solutions.

2015 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS [UPDATE]

UPDATE: An earlier version of this story referenced the 911's six-speed manual transmission, but of course, Porsche uses a seven-speed manual in this car. The text has been changed to reflect this. There are no fewer than 19 different models in today's Porsche 911 series. While each appeals to the enthusiast, the race-bred GT3 is the pinnacle of the automaker's rear-engined lineup. Unfortunately, and despite the GT3's racing circuit prowess, its rigid track-tuned persona is too grating for many as a daily driver. To satisfy those who put sporty driving dynamics at the top of their list, but don't want to compromise comfort, Porsche has introduced the 2015 911 Carrera GTS. Raising its performance quotient, the GTS model boasts a handful of standard features that elevate it above its Carrera S siblings. Mechanically, it features an enhanced 3.8-liter flat-six bolted into the tail of the widebody platform (shared with the Carrera 4 and GT3). Other goodies include Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a black-tipped Sport exhaust system and centerlock 20-inch 911 Turbo S wheels (five-lug wheels are a no-cost option). Cosmetically, the GTS is differentiated by its darkened lights, painted black wheels, Sport Design front spoiler, Sport Design exterior mirrors, black engine grille, rear black louvers (or lights on all-wheel drive models) and a 'GTS' logo on the lower doors. Inside the cabin are standard Sport Plus seats, Alcantera upholstery throughout with contrasting stitching, black gauges and anodized black aluminum trim. Offering us an excellent opportunity to put the second-generation GTS through its paces on a variety of roads, Porsche tossed us the keys in the LA Basin and pointed us towards Willow Springs Raceway, in the Mojave Desert. Driving Notes The GTS is offered in coupe or Cabriolet body styles, each with a choice between rear- and all-wheel drive. Buyers are also offered a choice between a traditional seven-speed manual gearbox or Porsche's seven-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK). The GT3, meanwhile, is only offered as a coupe with PDK. We grabbed the keys to a Guards Red rear-wheel drive coupe with PDK for our outbound drive, and a GT Silver Metallic all-wheel drive Cabriolet with a seven-speed manual for our return trip. Finding another 30 horsepower from the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six required some old-fashioned tricks.

If you like cars, there is a good chance that you like racecars. There's something about the science and the art of going faster, of competition, of achievement, that accelerates the hearts of enthusiasts. It doesn't matter the series, the team or the manufacturer – there's something about racing that stirs emotions and lifts spirits. It's that way with many of you, and it's that way with our editors. With that in mind, we offer a list of our favorite racecars of all time. Of course, we'd like to hear some of yours in the comment section below. 1970 Porsche 917 Compared to some of the obscure choices by my colleagues, I feel like the Porsche 917 is almost so obvious a pick as to not be worth mentioning. Still, when coming up with my answer, my mind invariably went back to this classic racer – specifically in its blue-and-orange Gulf livery – while watching Le Mans on DVD and later Blu Ray with my dad. Long, low and curvaceous, few vehicles have ever looked sexier lapping a track than the 917. More than just a pretty face, this beauty had speed, too, thanks to several tunes of flat-12 engines over the course of its racing life. In the early '70s, Porsche was a dominant force throughout sports-car competition, and the 917 (shown above at the 1970 24 Hours of Daytona) was the tip of that spear, including back-to-back victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Largely without dialogue or really much of a traditional plot, Le Mans is like a tone poem of racing goodness. While the 917's importance to motorsports history is undoubtedly fascinating, it's still this cinematic depiction of the Porsche racer that draws me in most, especially with the volume cranked. – Chris Bruce Associate Editor 1964 Mini Cooper S How could everyone not be selecting the 1964 Mini Cooper S piloted by Paddy Hopkirk and Henry Liddon? That car, 33 EJB, took the first of British Motor Corporation's four Monte Carlo Rally wins (it should have been five, but French judges got the British Minis [and Fords] disqualified on a technicality regarding headlights... which its own car, the winning DS, was also in violation of). The tiny red car and its white roof beat out Ford Falcons, Mercedes-Benz 300SEs and scores of Volvos, Volkswagens and Saabs. This, along with the several years of dominance that followed, cemented the idea that not only could the tiny, two-tone Mini be a real performance vehicle, but that family-friendly city cars in general could be fun.
