For sale 2000 Porsche Boxster S Convertible. Car was purchased about 1 year ago from local auction with no key and as is condition. Car was bought for someone to be restored with knowledge that car needs work. After key was order from local Porsche dealer We find out that car runs and drives but needs engine work. Drivers side head gasket is blown and car runs weak. Engine smokes and coolant leaks to left bank exhaust system. 6 speed transmission seems to operate normal. Top as you can see at the pictures needs to be replaced because of the rear window (Plastic) has a hole. Cost of new top about $400. Convertible top operate fine and all the functions works great. Body is pretty straight and there is no sign of major accident. There is paint peeling on the front and rear bumpers. Left taillight has small crack on the corner. Tires are mismatch but they have some tread left. Seats needs to be redone because leather have some imperfection mainly passenger side (estimate from upholstery shop $300) Selling car because lack of interest and time. Great project car for handy mechanic. Must sell. Will consider any reasonable offer. Please ask questions before you bid. Only serious bidders please.

Leno buys classic Porsche 356 Carrera 2, seeks out and finds perfect expert for help
Mon, 19 Aug 2013The world of collector cars is fairly tight-knit when you get down to individual models. Need proof? Just take a look at this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. The subject is a gorgeous 1963 Porsche 356 Carrera 2. Jay, being known as quite a collector, got a call from someone looking to sell. While doing his due diligence and looking for a 356 expert to go over the car with him, he came across John Willhoit.
Where the story gets weird is when Leno is asked the license plate number - it turns out that Willhoit, owner of Willhoit Restorations, had restored the exact same car more than 30 years prior. He then sold it to the same person that was looking to give it to Leno. What follows is a truly interesting video on the little quirks of the 356, along with Willhoit's personal history on a car he hadn't seen since 1976.
This is a bit more mechanically detailed than Leno's normal videos, but it's on a very interesting subject. Take a look below for the entire film.
Porsche Cayman GTS in track battle with 996 GT3
Wed, 09 Jul 2014Here's your tough question of the day: Would you rather drive a new Porsche Cayman GTS or a slightly older, 996-era Porsche 911 GT3? Certainly, both cars have their plusses. The Cayman is the more modern proposition, sure, but the GT3 is, well, a GT3. So yes, it's a tough decision.
If you're one of the lucky souls that have to make that choice, then this video from Evo should prove pretty helpful. It's a track battle, starring Jethro Bovingdon with a new GTS and an old GT3.
Calling the GTS "fantastically agile" and "fast, but it's also hilariously good fun," Bovingdon bangs home a solid lap time of 1:05.2 before switching to the GT3. It's remarkable to see just how dated the 996-generation 911 looks after viewing the newer Porsche, and from where we sit, it's further proof that the old car's headlights are something that's best forgotten. Styling qualms aside, though, can the GT3 keep up with its racy younger cousin?
