Up for sale is a 1999 Porsche Boxster. This Porsche is fully loaded, has had only one owner since new, and has been maintained only by Fred Lavery Porsche (where it was bought) since new. Since it was new, it has had less than 15k miles put on it. This is very likely one of the lowest mileage first-generation Boxsters in existence. The window sticker (pictured) shows that this Boxster was fully loaded, including options such as a hard top, Sport Package, oval shifter with wood trim, two sets of floor mats (one black, on Savanna Tan), a cover (dealer option), 17" Boxster-design rims and more. All of that equipment is present. Nothing has been modified, removed or replaced. This car is 100% mechanically sound, and has no issues at any speed, or in any gear. The 5-speed manual shifts great. This car is a pleasure to drive; it handles well, has good acceleration and strong brakes. Brakes, tires, and clutch all have a lot of life left in them. The black exterior is in great shape. There is a blemish on the left fender (pictured) and some very light surface scratching (common for black cars), but overall, the paint is excellent. It has never been touched up, and the factory undercoating is present. All of the lights work, and there are no chips in the glass. The power black top is clean and free of tears. The hard top was rarely used. The windshield has the common slight delamination, in this case on the passenger side down near the hood. Inside, the Savanna Tan interior is very clean. The leather has only minor wear, and is not torn or scuffed anywhere. The radio works great, as do all the gauges. The A/C display has the one dead pixel, but works as it should. The climate control works great, as do the power memory seats. This is a rare find with such low mileage. It is a great car, sure to please the new owner. Call Paul at (248) 719-0598 with any questions, or message me through eBay. All reasonable offers will be considered. This car is available for viewing and test drives in Harrison Township, MI. More pictures are available upon request, and more will be posted this weekend. Thanks!

Porsche 918 Spyder could lap the 'Ring even quicker [w/video]
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Porsche had a lot to crow about at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. Not only did it debut the new 50 Years edition and Turbo versions of the 911 and the new hybrid and diesel versions of the Panamera, but while unveiling the final production version of the new 918 Spyder, it revealed the record lap it set around the Nürburgring.
The 918 Spyder's 6:57 lap time makes it the fastest street-legal production car ever to lap the Nordschleife and the first to break the seven-minute barrier. But the driver who clocked the time thinks it can go even faster.
That driver was Marc Lieb, who has won the Nürburgring 24-hour race four times, making him something of an expert on the subject. In speaking with Australia's Drive TV, Lieb suggested that they could get even more out of the car, as you can hear for yourself in the video below.
1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28
Mon, Jan 12 2015Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won. Porsche in Paul Walker fatal accident was traveling over 100 mph before crash
Fri, 03 Jan 2014The Porsche Carrera GT involved in the November crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas was traveling at speeds above 100 miles per hour before Rodas lost control for "unknown reasons," according to a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office that has been acquired by The Hollywood Reporter.
Once control was lost, the Porsche spun, hit a curb and then impacted a tree and a light post, then it spun 180 degrees and hit another tree before erupting in flames, the report said. Neither Walker nor Rodas were under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, according to toxicology reports conducted by the coroner.
As for the future of the Fast and Furious franchise, a separate by The Hollywood Reporter claims director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal Studios will move forward with the seventh installment in the franchise, which was only partially completed when Walker was killed.
