1998 Porsche Boxter, daily driver until backed into by a pick-up truck. Good engine and transmission. Tiptronic transmission was rebuilt in July 2012 and has a new pump and rebuilt torque converter. Car ran fine before accident. Trailer hitch on truck punctured bumper, headlight, condensor coil and radiator on left side. Also damaged hood. Possible hidden damage behind bumper, not sure. Car would make great parts car or could be repaired. Car has had previous accident damage in the past. Muffler Man gets racing suit to mark progress on Porsche Experience Center
Sat, 19 Oct 2013In a dramatic change of careers, a fiberglass Muffler Man statue on the side of a busy Los Angeles freeway, formerly known as "Golf Guy," traded in his clubs for a Porsche driver's suit a couple days ago. It's no coincidence, as he's standing on land that the German automaker bought from the Dominguez Hills Golf Course a couple years ago to build its west coast Porsche Experience Center - which will be complete with a test track, restoration and maintenance facilities, a cafe and restaurant, a home for Porsche Motorsports North America and more, when it's finished in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The Porsche Muffler Man will serve as the gatekeeper to the 53-acre center and overlook the test track on the side of the 405 freeway. We can't think of a better job for a fiberglass giant that used to watch golf all day than to watch Porsche road cars and racecars getting wrung out on a test track in the middle of LA. Since Muffler Men are quite adaptable, we're sure this one will fit into his new role in no time - just as easily as he can double as Paul Bunyan.

Touring Italy in a classic Porsche will have you feeling continental
Wed, 13 Nov 2013It's hard to believe there was a time when a Porsche 911 didn't come to market with 400 horsepower. But as the latest video from Petrolicious reminds us, with this video of a 1968 911T, owned by Donato Maniscalco, that time wasn't so long ago.
You might think, being a distinguished man living in Italy, Maniscalco would be more enthused by a Ferrari, Maserati, or Lamborghini, but in reality, it was always Porsche that enamored the Italian as a boy. And it was that passion that led him to purchase the glorious 911T he's seen tossing about in this video.

The Cherokee SRT is the patriotic choice among the three, but it's down on power in this fight.
