Folks, this is my pride an joy but since I am downsizing, I must let her go. In short this is the deal of a lifetime. I had this car fully detailed and then added over $12K worth of extras to make her something that you won't encounter again. I am her second owner and neither of us I ever tracked her. She purrs perfectly and is completely up to date with Porsche maintenance. All of the aftermarket work is reversible and none of the items void the existing manufacturer's warranty or the Certified Pre-Owned Warranty.

What makes her special? The Carrara White paint combined with the Seat Backs in White, 19" Turbo II Wheels, "Porsche" decal & Tubi Exhaust make her look, sound and feel like a super car - at a 'reasonable' price tag. If you've ever wanted to make a 911 owner jealous then this is your car. Details:

-This car is still under Porsche's Certified Pre-Owned Warranty which I will transfer to you. WARRANTY GOOD THROUGH JUNE 2017!  See the documentation (pictured).
-The tires (of course only the best, Michelin Pilot Sport) are at 50% and the brakes at 60%. See documentation (pictured).
-2011 Porsche Cayman S, 33,500 miles in Carrara White
-Black Sport Seats in Leather
-3.4 Liter flat-six cylinder engine
-320 hp @ 7200 rpm (however the Tubi exhaust and IPD plenum probably take her closer to 335 hp)
-Brake Calipers with red finish
-Ventilated and cross-drilled brake discs
-Anti-lock brakes
-4-piston monobloc fixed aluminum calipers front and rear

Options that came with car:
-345 - Heated Steering Wheel
-686 - XM(R) Satellite Radio Receiver (with traffic)
-680 - BOSE(R) Surround Sound System
-672 - Navigation Module for PCM
-665 - Porsche Communication Management
-P4W - Infotainment Package for BOSE
-573 - Automatic Climate Control
-421 - 19" 911 Turbo II Wheel (a very, very rare combination)
-342 - Heated Seats (Front)
-XDJ - Gear/PDK Trim Paint Ext Color
-XSA - Sport Seat Backrests ExtColor
-640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
-446 - WhlCtrsw /FullcolorPorscheCrest
-580 - Rear Luggage Partition
-250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
-P77 - Sport Seats in Leather

Here are the items then added to the car. See documentation (pictured):
- Added IPD's Competition Plenum & Throttle Body (work completed by Sharkwerks) (OEM parts come with car in the case you want to switch back)
- Added Tubi exhaust (work completed by Sharkwerks) See here for the beautiful sound: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R25AH2MFLWE
- Added a Cayman V-Flow Intake System (work completed by Sharkwerks)
- Added Sport Pedals (work completed by Sharkwerks)
- Powder coated IPD Plenum, Intake Covers & Headers (work completed by Sharkwerks)
- Added Escort 9500CI & Escort Live Bluetooth Radar/Laser system (work completed by Audio Symphony)
- Added Strut Kings clear engine cover. (OEM engine cover comes with car in the case you want to swap back - very easy. See here: http://www.strutking.com/products/Cayman-Clear-Engine-Cover.html
- Swapped incandescent license plate light with LED License Plate Light
- Added Cayman Roof Transport System (easily removeable)
- Added Das Schild Hood Protector
- Added Rear Cargo and Front Luggage Compartment Liner
- Added Heavy-Duty Rubber Floor Mat (OEM Porsche mats also come with car)
- Wrapped 75% of the car in 3M clear bra (Work completed by Jeremy @ Invisiguard, absolutely the best)
- Added "Porsche" 'Cayman R' decal (Work completed by Jeremy @ Invisiguard)
- Added a fire extinguisher to drivers seat (work completed by Sharkwerks)
- Painted the side intakes black (work completed by Sharkwerks)

What's wrong with her?
-If you plan to buy this car and commute to work on your cell phone don't; the Tubi exhaust is apparent while revving up/down. Tubi makes a beautiful sound but with the exhaust and the clear engine cover you definitely hear the exhaust notes. Sure you can swap the clear engine cover for the OEM one and quiet her down (provided with the car) - but why would you do that? I've driven her on long and short trips alike and the exhaust never bothered me. If you drive uphill at 70 MPH in 7th gear you'll choose to drop down to 6th to avoid the low drone. But then again, who drives uphill in 7th gear?
-She has no major or minor scratches and no dents. The paint has been cleaned and 3M bra applied professionally. She can probably outlast a few sand storms with that kind of protection!

PAYMENT:

3) You send the funds to Escrow.com
4) You arrange & pay for transport (& transportation insurance) for the car, or pick her up (she lives downtown San Francisco)
5) You have 24 hours to accept the car on Escrow.com once you receive the car
6) Once you accept the transaction on Escrow.com the Lienholder (Bank of America) gets your funds
7) Escrow.com then pays Bank of America & has the title sent to a local Bank of America for your pickup

Jay Leno chats with Magnus Walker about his 1972 Porsche 911 72STR

Tue, 26 Mar 2013

Magnus Walker has stopped by the Big Dog Garage again to pay Jay Leno a visit in the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage. This time, the Porsche builder brought along his 1972 911 72STR 002. Walker calls the machine his best build to date, and the car is a rolling "best of" from Porsches past, rocking some of the more attractive elements pulled from a wide arc of 911 model years. Of course, the machine also wears a few signature Walker touches, including flush-mount turning indicators, a center-hood fuel filler and plenty of louver work.
Unlike some of Walker's other creations, the 72STR 002 is clean enough to lick. Leno seems suitably impressed with the creation, and while apparently isn't typically a fan of Porsche models in general, Walker's tastefully modified 911 has him singing a different tune. You can check out the car in the video below.

Porsche updates 919 Hybrid racer for 2015 season

Sun, Jan 18 2015

Porsche's grand return to the elite level of global endurance racing showed mixed success in its first year. The company did score one victory in the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship season during the race in Brazil but finished in third place overall among the three factory manufacturers. Porsche is hoping for a few more wins in 2015 and is releasing its first shots of the updated car to achieve those triumphs when things kick off in April. The team's racer is still called the 919 Hybrid, but Porsche promises this second-generation version is a "comprehensive evolution" compared to last year. The most obvious change is the redesigned front end where the styling now features a simple horizontal intake running across the front (compare to 2014, below). The nose area also now flares out to the windshield. The side grows a more complicated look, though, with a series of fins just behind the driver compartment. Porsche isn't divulging many details about anything different under the skin. The 2015 919 is still propelled by a 2.0-liter turbocharged V4, and an electric motor powers the front wheels. There are also two energy recovery systems. In addition to the previous challengers from Audi and Toyota, Porsche has one more competitor in the factory ranks this season. The Nissan GT-R LM Nismo is rumored to be a radical departure from the rest of the field with an engine possibly located in front of the driver. Read the German brand's very brief release about the updated 919 Hybrid below and click through the gallery to see how it looks. Track debut for 2015 Porsche 919 Hybrid Stuttgart. Extensive testing with the second generation of Porsche's Le Mans prototype will begin on January 18, on Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit. As scheduled, this marks the start of the 2015 motorsport season for the Porsche Team. The new Porsche 919 Hybrid has already had its roll-out on the Weissach test track. As a next step, there will be several performance and endurance tests before the WEC season opener on April 12 in Silverstone, Great Britain. The new Porsche 919 Hybrid is a comprehensive evolution of the successful car that made its debut in 2014. It will feature the same innovative drivetrain concept consisting of a 2-litre V4 turbocharged petrol engine, an electric motor powering the front wheels, and two energy recovery systems. The new generation car had its first roll-out on December 15, 2014.
