I am selling my 2006 Porsche Cayman "S" with Tiptronic transmission, I purchased the car from a Dr. in Tri Cities Washington about 2 years ago and he purchased it from a dealership off lease. I previously owned a Boxter "S" for about 4 years, This car trumps the Boxter hands down and I would not even consider a NON "S" model, if you have come this far go the extra mile and get an "S" The car has the right color combo "Black on Tan" and has the desirable Tiptronic transmission with paddle shifting in manual mode on the wheel. I had my neighbor who owns J&C mechanical do the 36k service at around 36,500 miles, the computer needs to be reset my local Porsche service shop will reset for $80 ( I just have not got around to it yet and refuse to part with my hard earned money to the snobby dealership in my area) I installed new brakes 2 months ago, and after I purchased the car I installed the sweet Borla exhaust system ( it eliminates 2 of the 4 cat's) I have the stock exhaust for the new owner but they must pay shipping and handling. The exhaust is quiet until you get into the power band then the exhaust note wakes up and sounds so very sweet. My car has been taken care of and not hot-rodded yet the car has not been lugged causing carbon build up. I am a 53 year old business man and know how to take care of my things including my Ducati collection. The tires on the car are about 30% wear and have thousand of miles left before they will need to be replaced. Oil changes have included frequency much sooner then recommendations by Porsche and have always used Mobil 1 full synthetic oil. I have truly enjoyed this car and have owned about 12 Porsche's in my short life including a 930, 2 Boxters 3 928's one European "S-4" and several 911's. Its a lifestyle. I have recently purchased a high end American muscle car for a change for a few years so one toy must go. My loss is your gain.
If you want a car that will go 175mph PLUS and turn heads everywhere you go this is your car.
I have the car listed locally and reserve the right to end the auction early, I will take $28999 for it! I can pick you up at the airport and you can have a pre purchase inspection done at your cost locally. Please call me directly to set this up or to ask any question's that you may have 503-936-6003 ask for Norman.
Note: I had some idiot back into my car  ( minor ding on the front end ) at my local  super market all of the work was done using genuine Porsche paint and the lower valance was replaced using the OEM part. I have know idea if that will show up on car fax or not but I believe in total transparency as I would want to know the same thing if I was purchasing a car.
Shipping if any is at the cost of the buyer.
More pictures coming
Have original 2 sets of keys and Manual.
Everything works as it should.

McLaren P1 vs Porsche 918 vs Ducati 1199 Superleggera in epic standing-mile drag race

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

We live in a high-tech supercar renaissance, with the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari all duking it out for performance supremacy. All three members of this power trio place the engine behind the driver and use some kind of hybrid assist. However, each one finds a slightly different way to make that setup work. While all of the tech is insanely cool, let's just admit that we are all really wondering which one is the quickest and which is the fastest. Autocar aims to find out in a new video pitting two of them against a surprise challenger in the standing mile.
Unfortunately, the race is missing the Ferrari, despite Autocar's best efforts. So instead, it has another limited-edition, high-performance vehicle from Italy in the form of the Ducati 1199 Superleggera. The bike has just two cylinders, but at 1.2-liters of displacement, it makes over 200 horsepower, and all that gumption is packaged into a magnesium monocoque body with carbon fiber bodywork to keep weight low. Granted, the cycle is going up against the 875-hp Porsche and 903-hp McLaren, but traction, aerodynamics and gearing all play a part in this fascinating video.
There's no sense in ruining the winner before watching, but Autocar teases that the finish is one of its closest drag races ever. Check out the video to find out just what that means.

eGarage video features Helmuth Bott's personal Porsche 959 prototype

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

"We thought we were going to build a super-911," said Peter Schutz, former CEO of Porsche AG of the development of the Porsche 959. That was before it started getting expensive. At that point, Helmuth Bott, Porsche R&D director got frightened. Costs ballooned because of the all-wheel drive, sequential turbocharging and other technology Porsche had never even thought about when it set out to build a 911 to compete in Group B. Schutz continued, "The amount of resources we were committing got totally out of hand." Instead of pulling the plug, Bott doubled down and drew on the strength of his brilliant team to build a car whose impact is still echoing aross the industry.
"It's probably one of our most prized possessions" says Don Leatherwood, Director of the Brumos collection where Dr. Bott's personal prototype resides, and where Frazer Spowart went to see the car and create a video for eGarage. Check out the sights and sounds of the 959 before it was the 959, and get personal takes on the car from Hurley Haywood, Peter Schutz and Don Leatherwood. Keep reading to see the video.

Porsche rolls out new 919 Hybrid at racing gala

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

That Porsche is returning to Le Mans next year with a top-tier LMP1 entry is no news - we've known that for some time. We've even seen pictures of the car in question undergoing testing at various racetracks across Europe, been told who'll be driving it and given some basic parameters of what will make it go. We just haven't known what to call it, but now we do.
In detailing its full endurance racing program for next year at its Night of Champions in Weissach, Porsche has revealed that its new LMP1 racecar will be called the 919 Hybrid. So, something like the 918 Spyder, only one faster. With a four-cylinder engine and a pair of electric motors, the 919 Hybrid will be taking on the top class at Le Mans next year, with a compelling roster of drivers on the docket: along with Mark Webber, Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Neel Jani, Porsche has assigned its works driver Marc Lieb and F1 test driver Brendon Hartley to the effort. But that's not all Porsche has in store.
The factory is also supporting teams that will campaign the 911 RSR in the FIA World Endurance Championship as well as the United SportsCar Championship here in the US, taking Porsche off the pit wall and right in the race seat for next year as part of a comprehensive new racing program, details of which you can read in the press release below.
