2006 Porsche Cayenne with 40k miles, new brakes and fresh oil change. This vehicle is equipped with a very rare triple black factory-specified package. It includes black rims, black interior leather, black suede leather headliner and dark tint.

The original purchase price of this vehicle was $121,000. The KBB on this vehicle is from $54,500 for excellent to $49,000 for fair.

It looks and drives like brand new. This vehicle has never been a daily driver which is why the miles are so low and it's in perfect condition. It will beat virtually anything off the line, it's scary fast and so much fun to drive. Perfect inside and out, garage kept and babied. The 40k major service has been done--for those of you who know Porsches this is a $2k+ expense. Selling because I no longer have room in the garage for it and I can't stand to leave it on the street.

This vehicle has some very rare features, detailed below with their add on price:

1. Because '06 was the first year for a Turbo-S, this car was a "launch vehicle code", which means the options were dictated by Porsche, and It was put together as a promotional vehicle to show-off options the factory wanted the dealers to see.

2. Light Comfort Package ~ $650

3. 4-zone cooling (this is a $1600 option, uncommon, and means you have a separate rear evaporator unit). Usually the rear unit is fed by the front evap unit which splits cooling capacity and is less efficient. See details below.

4. Moon roof ~ $1500

5. Black package ~ $350

6. Sports seats ~ $750

7. Thermal insulating and sound dampening glass ~ $1600 (this is rare, and why the interior is so quiet). The car interior is very insulated from road noise .

8. Compass display ~ $350

9. Trailer hitch ~ $650

10. Rear view camera ~ $1600

11. 20" sport techno wheels ~ $2000

12. Satellite radio ~ $750

13. Embossed arm rest ~ $350

'Born of a Blue Sky' brings the Amelia Island Concours to you

    Fri, 03 May 2013

The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance has more clout every year and is getting a reputation as Pebble Beach minus the madness. Held in March this year, it celebrated Ducati and the 50-year anniversaries of Lamborghini, the Corvette Sting Ray, Porsche 911 and the Ford GT40.
Justin Lapriore was there, and seemingly everywhere, getting footage of the various wares on display on the lawns and the sand and the runway. The resulting video, Born of a Blue Sky, is a 16-minute survey of some of the finer sights and plenty of engine sounds. Check it out below.

Xcar considers the Porsche 911 GT3's PDK

    Fri, May 29 2015

Porsche ruffled some feathers when it unveiled the latest 911 GT3 a couple of years ago with a dual-clutch transmission instead of an old-school manual. The rationale was (and remains) that the PDK makes the enthusiast's Elfen faster than it would be with a stick. The purists scoffed, but Zuffenhausen held firm – and even did the same with the even more hardcore GT3 RS. In its latest video, the boys at Xcar set out to find out if the GT3 with its fancy automated gearbox is as good as the previous model (or as good as the current model could be) with a manual – and took in some of the track toy's other trickery while they were at it. Check out the video above to find out what conclusion they reached.

VW makes $23K on every Porsche sold, more than Bentley or Lamborghini

    Fri, 14 Mar 2014

It's a good time to be in the luxury car business. In Volkswagen Group's financial report for the 2013 fiscal year, it is revealed that that Porsche enjoyed an operating margin of 18 percent. That means the Stuttgart brand made on average about $23,200 per car sold, according to BusinessWeek. Bentley wasn't far behind, and Audi (which was combined with Lamborghini) posted a 10.1 percent margin. This compares to only around 2.9 percent for the Volkswagen brand.
"Luxury brands are on fire," said Dave Sullivan, an industry analyst at AutoPacific. He said that the average profit margin is between six and eight percent. Brands like Porsche and Bentley have the benefit of competing in rarefied markets. Buyers looking at one their vehicles have fewer models to shop against and don't care as much about price. They can also charge more for options, which further boosts income, according to BusinessWeek.
In a way, we should be more impressed by the continued success from Audi. Its models generally have direct competitors in every segment from the other premium automakers. Plus, their buyers aren't the captains of industry who are shopping for a Bentley. Still, the Four Rings is leading rivals in sales so far this year.
