1941 Packard One-Eighty LeBaron Sport Brougham
CCCA 98.25 Score, Showed at Pebble Beach
......please be patient while the many photos load.....
One of 100 made with only a handful of survivors left, many estimate to be no more than 20. Showed at Pebble Beach
in 2003. Car was judged by CCCA in 2002 and scored 98.25 out of 100 points. This is CCCA senior car #2462 with it's
known history dating back to the previous three owners over 25 years. Cosmetic restoration beautifully done in the
early to mid 1990's including the extremely rare and correct Riviera interior. The engine was completely rebuilt by
the Packard specialists at John Deere in Enquist, Illinois. The car has traveled about 5,000 miles since. Renowned
collector known for his fastidious attention to detail, Dr. Rick Zeiger purchased it from it's previous owner in
Chicago right around the turn of the century and made several improvements such as completely rebuilding the
transmission, fully rebuilding the front end with the use of early style metal pivot points instead of rubber, as
well as going through the entire cooling system assuring it's comfort and reliability. A previous owner tells me
that the car was absolutely rust and accident free prior to it's exhaustive restoration. If you'd like more
information regarding the One-Eighty,Videos below as well as an extensive collection of photos in the slideshow area.

Dan Neil pokes fun at the celeb cars of 2014
Sun, Dec 28 2014Look, we try really hard not to pay any attention to the Kardashians and their vapid reality TV empire. But, as troubling as that brood may be, occasionally we're impressed and/or horrified by their four-wheeled conveyances. In fact, that curiosity extends beyond talentless reality stars with rotund glutes to celebs in general. That's why we're enjoying Dan Neil's sometimes biting take on the celebrity cars of 2014. Besides paying tribute to Kim K, husband Kanye West and the adorable Lamborghini that their spawn rides about in, Neil also takes a look at LeBron James' turn as a Kia spokesman and boxer Floyd Mayweather's trio of Bugatti Veyrons. Matthew McConaughey is a focus of Neil's as well, thanks to his oft-panned advertisements for Lincoln (and the raucous parodies they inspired), before finishing on the high, with Jerry Seinfeld and his new Porsche 918 Spyder. Take a look at Neil's recap of the celebrity cars of 2014. News Source: The Wall Street Journal Celebrities Humor Bugatti Kia Lamborghini Lincoln Porsche Videos porsche 918 spyder celebrity dan neil
Porsche offering short-term loans to Macan waitlisters
Wed, 02 Jul 2014Walk into a Porsche dealer today, place an order for a Macan and you'll be looking at a waiting period of six months or more before you can expect delivery. That may be common enough for high-end European automakers, but the Macan is meant to lure new buyers to the brand, and the waitlist could be enough to deter them from sticking around.
The solution? Offer to lease them a Boxster or Cayman until their new Macan arrives. Shorter in term that the usual new-car lease, these six-month terms are designed to keep buyers from turning their backs, all the while experiencing the kind of vehicle Porsche does best.
Of course it doesn't hurt that the dealer then gets a used sports car to sell again once the short-term lease is up. And we wouldn't be surprised to see some buyers asking to hold on to their mid-engined sports car for a little longer, either.
2015 Porsche Cayman GTS
Thu, 29 May 2014The Porsche Boxster and Cayman will forever nip at the heels of their big brother, the 911 Carrera, and perpetuating this tradition are the latest GTS variants, which add yet another arrow to the quiver of the plucky mid-engined platform.
The GTS' performance enhancements boost horsepower by a mere 15 and shave a tenth from 0 to 60, but Porsche's clever product planners and engineers have stuck to their familiar formula in making the Cayman GTS more desirable than the Boxster for dyed-in-the-wool performance enthusiasts. More on that shortly.
Laps around Spain's Circuito Mallorca RennArena and the nearby Serra de Tramuntana mountain range would shed further light on how the GTS differentiates itself from lesser Caymans.
