This is a rare chance to own a brand new 2013 Porsche Boxster Base 981 6 speed with 400 miles on it at a reduced amount. This car was bought new from Porsche of Fayetteville NC the sales man was Jeffrey Worthington his number is 800-264-3203. Here is the true story behind this beautiful Boxster : A fella bought this car and while on his way home from the dealership had a seizure ran through a chain link fence with barbed wire on top. According to Mr. Worthington he came back in a couple weeks later and bought another brand new one. His insurance company stamped this car as re-buildable salvage. The damage was only skin deep as you can tell from the pictures. There was no structural damage to the Boxster. I used only genuine OEM Porsche parts and there was no bondo or body filler used on this car. I replaced every panel that had a scratch on it except the convertible roof. Their are just a few places where the barbed wire scratched it but it was not bad enough to fix in my eyes. The paint has a life time warranty. The car had 71 miles when I received it. I have put around 350 miles on it. It drives like a Porsche and looks like a brand new Porsche. I promise you will be very pleased with this car. I would be willing to offer a warrantee with this car. Call Tim Hooker @ 903-714-9607. My reserve is set at $45,000. The Car is at my house in Tyler Texas. Thanks

Porsche undecided on new 911 GT2 [w/poll]

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Fans of hardcore 911s had it pretty good with the last 997 generation. There was the GT3, GT3 RS, GT3 RS 4.0, GT2 and GT2 RS (pictured above). Each one was faster, more powerful and more expensive than the one below it, but what they all shared was what Porsche purists love most: rear engine, rear drive, a manual transmission and little else.
So far with the new 991, Porsche has only released a GT3 version. Sure, there have been other models, but they're all decidedly more luxurious and less performance-focused. And as impressive a machine as the new GT3 is, it has run the risk of alienating some of its most ardent fanatics with technological interference in the form of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and four-wheel steering. So what those purists have really been looking forward to is a more hardcore GT3 RS or new GT2. But those may not be coming so quickly.
Speaking with 911 project chief August Achleitner, Car and Driver reports that a new GT2 is anything but a foregone conclusion. The reasons may be partially political, but could be technical in nature as well: with 560 horsepower driving all four wheels, the new 911 Turbo S runs the 0-60 in less than three seconds. Give it more power but less traction, as Porsche has done with past GT2s, and you may not end up seeing an actual improvement in performance. A GT2 that's slower than the Turbo S would be difficult to explain.

Porsche 918 Spyder debuts with new N"urburgring lap record [w/video]

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

It's been a long time in the making, but Porsche has finally revealed the final production version of its long-awaited 918 Spyder here at the Frankfurt Motor Show. And yet that's not even the big news surrounding the hybrid hypercar.
No, the big news is that, while Porsche was preparing taking the wraps off the car here in Frankfurt, elsewhere in Germany a team was setting a blistering lap time at the Nürburgring. And not just any blistering lap time, but a new world record.
Porsche claims that, on the morning of September 4, a team of three drivers (including former rally champ Walter Röhrl and Porsche test drivers Timo Kluck and Marc Lieb) broke the Nordschleife lap record, Lieb finally setting the best time at 6:57 at an average of 111 miles per hour.

Man arrested for stealing part of Paul Walker Porsche wreck

Fri, 06 Dec 2013

Humans are odd creatures. Some of us collect things associated with bad events, particularly when it comes to cars. Your author, for example, has the grille of his wrecked 2004 Mini Cooper S hanging on the wall. As a more extreme example, an 18-year-old Californian is in trouble with the LA police, but not for taking an item from his own car accident. Instead, he has been arrested for stealing from the wreck of the Porsche Carrera GT that killed actor Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas.
And it wasn't a small piece, either. It was the Carrera GT's carbon-fiber roof panel. Making matters worse is word that the theft happened while the tow truck that was hauling the wrecked Porsche was sitting in traffic. According to the LA Sheriff's Department report, "A witness saw a male exit a vehicle that was following the tow truck. The male grabbed a piece of the wrecked Porsche off the tow truck bed." Besides the eyewitnesses, it didn't help that images of the roof panel were later posted on Instagram.
The man, Jameson Witty, was later arrested at his home, where police also found the roof panel. The driver of the car Witty was in when he took the roof panel, meanwhile, is planning on surrendering to the police, according to CNN. It remains unclear if the district attorney's office will charge the two, although if it does, they'll be facing felony grand theft and tampering with evidence.
